Tyler parked the car. He turned off the radio and handed me a Kleenex tissue.

"Here, Steph." He smiled. I swat his arm for no reason at all, faced the mirror and started cleaning the makeup off my face.

"There's my Steph back," He grinned, running his hands through his hair. "Now S, you tell me if anything goes wrong, okay? No one messes with my best friend before coming through me," He said, flexing his arms so that his muscles would be visible.

"You're such a dork," I rolled my eyes.

"I love you too, Steph." He laughed, opening the car's door and getting out of it. He opened the door for me and I got out.

"Come on, S. You're gonna rock it," He said, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"You're so weird, Tyler." I chuckled. Some of his hair fell to his eyes and he bit his lower lip.

"And you're so pathetic. We make a great team. Now come on, let's go before we're late." He grabbed my hand, pulling me up to the school's entrance.

Tyler was popular. But also, he was a golden student. The teachers loved him and set him as an example for the whole school.

People were staring at us in a weird way. I always tried to ignore everyone's opinion about me, but it was different when I was with Tyler. I knew that everyone liked him and to people, I was just some random girl who was his friend. My worst nightmare was that one day, I got replaced by any girl. Was that we lost that rare friendship we had. Was that one day, a girl would sit beside him, make him laugh like I did, and that both of them would have a good time. I was afraid that one day he would forget me because he would be busy thinking about her. And that she would become so close to him that she would take my spot for good.

Because if someone else took my spot, there wouldn't be anyone to fill his.

"Here, Steph," Tyler announced, wrapping his arms around me in a silly way. "Here's your new classroom for the rest of the year." He grinned.

"Okay," I said, taking a deep sigh. "This is the time," I groaned.

"Woah," Tyler sighed, looking straight at the end of the classroom. "Who is she?" He asked, his eyes widening.

I twisted my head back to try to see what he was staring at. Until I saw what I saw. She was taller and skinnier than the map of Chile, brown hair and light green eyes.

She has giraffe legs, long and thin. Her eyes were like green circles with black dots in the center.

"Her?" I questioned, sarcasm dripping from mouth. "She's nothing extraordinary," I faked a sigh while looking at my nails.

"Are you kidding me? Holy shit, Stephanie. She is smoking hot!" He exclaimed, staring at me in disbelief.

Tyler never called me by my full name.

"Whatever, now go. You're gonna be late to class." I snickered, shooing him off from there.

"Get her number for me," He pleaded, trying his best to make a puppy face.

"No!" I exclaimed, making an engrossed face.

"Please, Steph. For me?" He whined, pouting.

I rolled my eyes. "Okay, fine. But you're gonna be owing me, Scott." I growled, swatting him in the forehead.

"Love you too, S." He pouted. "Now gimme a kiss," He said, pointing to his cheek.

I rolled my eyes but planted a quick peck on his cheek. He smiled and walked away to find his classroom.

I entered the class and sat in between two normal looking kids. The class was normal until I felt a tap on my back. I twisted my head back to see who was it, and guess what? It was the snobby brunette. And no, if you're wondering, I'd never get her number. Never in the history of the nevers.

"Hey," She said in a sickening sweet way. Her voice was so thin that it could break a glass.

"I'm the main person in charge of the back to class party that we have every year," She began, flipping her brown hair off her shoulder. "I saw you talking to your friend over there," She continued, pointing to the spot that Tyler and I were some minutes ago. "So, it has been a long time since I've been wanting to hang out with him. So I was just wondering if you could give me his number?" She asked, giggling like an idiot. Her laugh was genuine and unique, just like the noise the animals make right after they vomit.

I had always been the kind of person who was scared of losing. Of losing something that I considered mine for other people. I was overprotective with the things and people I loved. Maybe that's what ruined it all at first place.

"Uh, sorry," I said, faking a sickeningly sweet smile.

I was so not doing what Tyler asked me to do.

"But I'm his girlfriend," The words left my mouth before I could even realize they had. "And I don't like it when he hangs out with another girls." I faked a smirk.

'What am I doing?' I thought to myself.

Her smile quickly faded. She kept her mouth shut for a while but then tried to think of something to say.

"How can such a hot guy like him date such a curveless girl like you?" She snickered, placing a hand on her hip cocking an eyebrow up.

"Honey, get over it. Good try, though. It's not everyone who can be Tyler's girlfriend." I snapped back.

She just let out a growl of frustration and stepped away angrily. I smirked triumphantly and found a seat to sit on.

If Tyler ever found out, I was gonna be so screwed.

***

The bell started ringing and I growled, grabbing my books and shoving them in my backpack. The day had been so freaking boring. I slept in two classes, corrected the teacher at French class and almost got sent to the principal's office. What a great first day.

I hadn't made any friends exactly, except for Sophie, a tall and skinny redhead who I had kind of sympathized with. But nothing much. To me, she was just the least boring person of all.

I walked up to the cafeteria and paid for my lunch - some smashed potatoes that looked like Wreck-It Ralph had smacked them, a little portion of meat and a pack of "crunchies", that actually were carrot sticks. Since our school wasn't allowed to have any time of what the old people nowadays call "junk food", we only had juices of natural fruits and sometimes, even vegetables. It was pretty grotesque.

I spotted Tyler sitting on a table on the middle of the cafeteria. Every time he'd save a spot for me to sit next to him, but this time he was surrounded by his new friends. He always made friends quickly. He could be on the middle of a zombie apocalypse, but if there were a breathing and living creature by his side, they'd be friends in a matter of minutes.

I walked up to his table. Some of his friends started to eye me curiously, like I was a bug on their microscope.

Tyler lifted his chin up to see me. "Oh, hey, Steph." He smiled as soon as he saw me.

"Hey..." I greeted him. I felt kind of uncomfortable when he was around his friends.

"Here, come sit with us," He said, motioning for the guys around him to move to their sides so. I could sit close to him. There were only guys on the table, making it pretty weird for a girl to appear out of nowhere and sit with them.

The guys squeezed themselves in order for me to sit down beside Ty. The guys were just as uncomfortable as me.

"So..." A guy began, scratching the back of his neck. "You're a sophomore?" He asked and I nodded in response.

"Cool," He muttered.

From the corner of my eye, I saw the same brunette girl from my class. Only now I noticed the clothes she was wearing. Some jeans that were so tight that probably interrupted any kind of blood to run through her legs. A white blouse that pressed her breasts together, making them pretty visible. I noticed that she was looking at us, so I made sure to move closer to Tyler and to touch his hair.

He frowned as soon as he looked me in the eyes. "Oh, you had a bit of dirt in your hair," I smiled at him and he simply shrugged and went back to eating his sandwich.

She let out a scowl and continued walking, fidgeting her hips as much as possible.

"Holy crap, dude." A blonde boy sitting near Tyler hollered, poking him in the arm to call his attention.

"What?" Tyler asked.

"What do you mean, 'what'?" Blondie widened his eyes. "Laurel Harper, that's what, you idiot," Blondie said like it was the most obvious thing in the world and pointing at the brunette.

Laurel. What a gorgeous name. Note the sarcasm.

"Woah, man. Yeah, I was wondering who she was. S here is in the same class as her," Tyler rasped, poking me in the tummy.

"Crap, man. You're lucky." A black-haired boy sighed, looking at me.

"What do you guys even see in her!?" I questioned, bringing a spoonful of Wreck-It Ralph smashed potatoes to my mouth.

"What do we see in her?" Blondie sighed. "Everything. She's smoking hot, dude. What do you not see in her?" He asked me as if I was stupid or something.

"A personality," I growled.

"Her legs must have personalities," Blondie breathed dreamily.

"Argh," I growled. "If you guys are only gonna compare girls to temperatures I'm so out of here." I spat and stepped angrily away from them.

I walked and tried to find another table to sit on. All the tables were crowded. I heard someone calling my name. I twisted my head and saw Sophie waving her hand and calling me.

I made my way to her.

"Hey, you're in my Chemistry class, right?" She asked, motioning for me to sit beside her.

"Uh," I muttered. "Yeah, that's me," I answered.

"Cool. I saw you over there with Tyler Scott." She interjected all of a sudden and I only nodded in response.

"So?" She whined, her eyes wide open, like she was waiting for an explanation.

"What?" I questioned, narrowing my eyebrows in confusion.

"What do you mean, 'what'?" She cried. "He's Tyler freaking Scott for crying out loud. Not just a simple' what'!"

I never had an idea of how much people in Ridgefield High worshiped Tyler so freaking much.

"Yeah, well." I started. "He's my best friend." I threw her a sheepish smile.

Her eyes widened almost automatically. Her face went slack and her jaw dropped.

"You? Are best friends with... Tyler Scott?" She questioned like she was having a panic attack or something similar.

Her bright red hair was pushed back on a loose ponytail and she was wearing a mid tight length black skater dress.

"Yeah," I smiled and took a sip of my orange and carrot juice.

"Holy cows," She gasped. "Then what are you waiting for?" She cried.

I had never talked like that with a stranger. Usually, they'd leave because I'd growl too much.

"What are you even talking about?" I asked her, raising an eyebrow up.

"Let's go over there at their table and you introduce me to him. It's not every day you get to sit at the same table of Tyler Scott." She whined as it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"No, they're only comparing temperatures with the annoying brunette over there," I said, pointing to the girl who was fidgeting her hips insanely.

"Who?" Sophie asked.

I pointed once more to the brunette.

"Wait, her?" She panted in disbelief.

"Yeah, all of a sudden Tyler started drooling over her more than a damn basset hound," I growled.

"I knew this would happen," She whispered more to herself than to me.

"What?" I questioned, raising both my eyebrows up.

"I knew that the irresistible Tyler Scott would join the dark side of the force," She said, shaking her head.

"What do you mean, 'the dark side of the force'?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow up.

"Okay, so if Regina George from Mean Girls had a daughter with Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl, she'd be Laurel Harper." Sophie started. "Laurel Harper. What can I say about her?" She asked more to herself than to me. "She doesn't go exactly for the everyone-has-a-chance type. She is more of the... unreachable type. Everyone wants her. But no one can have her. " Sophie rolled her eyes. "It's pretty pathetic," She said.

"I really don't like her," I growled.

"Welcome to the club, girl. I'm sure we're gonna be best friends." She smirked.

I let out a chuckle.

***

After school was over, I waited for Tyler to come so that he could drive me home. I ended up waiting way more than I intended. I sat on the bench in school and waited for him to come.

Some minutes later, he came.

"Hey, Ty." I called, following him to his car.

But he didn't answer me. He just kept walking and ignoring me

"Tyler, wait up," I said.

He entered his car and angrily shut the door.

"Ty, what happened?" I asked, narrowing my eyebrows in confusion by his behavior.

He faced the floor and his eyes met up to see me.

"Tyler!" I yelled.

"What, Stephanie!? Dammit, what!?" He shouted.

I backed off. Tyler had never never treated me that way.

"What happened?" I inquired.

He didn't respond.

"Tyler, what happened," I screamed. "Tyler," I called once more.

"Tyler!" I yelled.

"What, dammit!?" He screamed back.

I could feel sweat consuming the palm of my hands. I was nervous. We had never fought that way.

"Tell me what happened," I ordered.

"What happened? You wanna know what happened, Stephanie? Alright then! I'll tell you what happened. I went to talk with Laurel and she told me that she didn't like to tangle herself with compromised guys. I asked her what she was talking about and then she pointed to you and said you were my girlfriend. Why the hell did you tell her that, S?" He said.

Hai guys!

I know, not the best chapter ever, but oh well. I'm trying to make the chapters as long as possible.

Xoxo,

Jas.
