In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to make a 3D Edit on Pixlr. Example on top.
Step 1:
Go to Pixlr Editor and open your image.
Step 2:
Duplicate the image/background.
Step 3:
Create a new layer [Layer - New Layer] and fill it with a neon-ish blue using the paint Bucket Tool. The colour code I used is #00f7e3.
Step 4:
Change the blend mode of the blue layer to 'Screen'. Then, right-click on the blue layer, and select 'Merge Down'.
Step 5:
Now, go to the background image (the image you started off with) and duplicate it again.
Step 6:
Create a new layer and fill it with red. Drag this red layer right above the duplicated background. Change the blend mode of the red layer also to screen and then right click, merge down.
Step 7:
Great, so now you've got both your raw layers ready. This next step is optional but it adds a different effect to your image - select the original background image, go to Adjustments - Desaturate. If you uncheck the boxes on the red and blue layers, you'll see that the background image is now black and white.
Step 8:
This step is also optional, but if you want to add a more grunge-ish look to your image, open up a grain texture (you can get many on Google, Tumblr and DeviantArt), place it above the original background, and change the blend mode to Overlay, Light, Screen or anything of your choice. Once you're done, merge that grain layer with the original layer.
[Note: To see your exact results in the above stuff, uncheck the red & blue layer boxes. Recheck them after you're done merging)
Step 9:
Now, go to the red layer and change the blend mode to 'Darken'. Do the same with the blue layer.
Step 10:
And you're almost done! Now, using the move tool, go to the blue layer and move it to the left, as per your choice. Move the red layer to your left, and play around till you get your desired effect!
