CHAPTER 8
So yeah, life was great, life was fun, life was fantastic, and believe it or not, I'm not being sarcastic.
I hung out with Charolette, and we hadn't kissed since Wednesday. Friday came around and I was surprised to find that my usual excitement for the weekend was replaced with a major disappointment.
"Promise you'll message me?" I begged cutely holding onto Charolette's wrist. I gave her the puppy dog face.
She groaned slightly, "Don't do that," She grinned at me, "You know that I have to say yes if you do that," She smiled again, putting her hands around my waist.
I wrapped my hands around her neck, "Why do you think I do it?" I asked pulling her into a hug.
She smiled and pulled away, I found myself surprisingly disappointed. Struck by a sudden idea, I grabbed her wrist, "Come with me," I urged puling her towards the parking lot of the library, this is where my mom picks me up from school everyday.
"Uh-oh, where're we going?" She asked as I dragged her along.
"You'll see," I said smiling back at her.
The thing is, I hadn't stopped talking about "my new friend, Charolettd" to my parents all week. They were a little freaked out when I told them she was Asian and not black, I don't know why, probably just the name.
I started towards the dark black flex with the yellow Long Beach sticker on the back windshield. I knew my dad was off today so I wasn't surprised when I saw him in the car.
She said, "Where're we going?"
I was extremely nervous at this point and you may be wondering why. I'll get into that after the meeting, I pointed to the car.
She raised her eyebrows behind her hair, nodded, but said nothing.
I walked over to the driver's side of the vehicle, the window rolled down, I took a deep breath, "Dad, Mama, this is my friend Charolette that I've been talking about lately,"
This is where I held my breath.
You see, my step-mom, Kat, the one I referred to as "Mama" is super strict and never let me hang out with boys because she thought I was straight. She never trusted me, no matter how much of the truth I consistently told her. She grounded me for the little things. She turned molehills into mountains. For instance, one time, she grounded me for two months because my room wasn't clean. Over summer. Yeah, I know.
Whatever, back to the actual scene at hand.
As soon as I finished my sentence, Kat said, "Hi," and Charolette gasped at my ear, at the exact same time, it was barely noticeable to me, and definitely not noticeable to my mom, I couldn't even tell if it really happened, but I bet it happened because I had just said in front of her that I talk about her in front of my family.
My dad smiled, I breathed. I usually didn't have a problem with my dad, he isn't around a lot.
"Nice to meet you," Charolette said politely, I was dancing inside and my heart was doing back-flips.
"Very nice to meet you too," My mom was actually being decent!
Before things could get awkward, I said, "Well, yeah, we have to go, but thanks for meeting my parents Charolette, like I said they have to meet any of my friends before I hang out with them. Hey, I'll see you Monday," I said to her.
She nodded and gave me a quick hug and smiled and waved to my parents.
I got into the car beaming as she walked away.
Apparently I was the only kid my parents were picking up today because my mother began to drive away. We drove up to the light, which was red and I spotted her out the window and smiled at her, knowing she couldn't see me through the tint.
We were stopped when I heard, from he front seat, "Is she out of the closet yet?"
I spun around and mock gasped at my mom, "Kat, that's so mean," I pretended like it was a ridiculous question that I didn't know the answer to.
"I mean, it's pretty obvious, I mean she is isn't she?" My dad asked.
"I don't know," I lied, "Maybe,"
"No, she is," my mom conferred.
Nice, my parents knew, but that was okay.
"Ha, you were talking about having a sleep over for your birthday and inviting her," She said, "Not anymore."
"What?!" I said, getting really upset, "You're kidding right?"
"No, I won't have you and your lesbian girlfriend sleeping together in the same room," she laughed, "Yes, Annabella, I'm kidding."
My heart was pounding loud in my ears and I knew my face was red, I kept my gaze firmly out the window and laughed feebly.
She had straight up called me a lesbian, without even realizing the reality of it...and then she had laughed....I don't know why, but this made me feel a lot better.
I went home that day and cleaned my room, did my chores and went on Facebook. Charolette wasn't on, but it didn't matter because I had her number now.
My mom came into my room, "Hey, I know you don't like being home alone, but i also know that you're technically grounded right now..."
I looked up at her hoping, praying...
"I guess you could go to a friends, not Carmen's though, you need more friends,"
I tried really hard not to jump for joy, I said, "Okay, I'll ask around, "I sad this knowing full well which friends house I was going over to.
I texted Chelsea, "Hey"
She sent back "Hi"
We started talking, "My mom said I could go to a friend's house, but not yours, how freaking retarded is that?"
I texted Charolette, "What are you doing tonight?"
Carmen answered, "So retarded, where're you going to go?"
I responded, "Charolette's most likely."
Charolettd replied, "Nothing, why?"
I asked, "Wanna hang out?"
Carmen said, "Don't do anything stupid," I answered, "i'm not, we're just hanging out, plus her sister will be there and we'll be watching her,"
Charolette had replied, "Sure :)" I said, "Meet me at halfway, like twenty-four hour fitness,"
Carmen never replied.
Charolette's answer, "Ok :)"
I told my mom I was going over to Charolette and she said she wanted me back by nine. it was 5:45, I was okay with that.
I got to 24 hour fitness to find Charolette and her little sister Serenity already waiting for me. we walked (Serenity roller-skated)
Charolette and I were making small talk as her sister skated ahead in front of us.
We got to her house at about six and her mother was already there, so we didn't have to babysit.
We sat outside on her wall for a bit until like six thirty when she suggested we go for a walk because it's what she did to clear her mind.
I agreed and we began walking around the backside of her neighborhood. We came across a school when I had a sudden inexplicable urge to stop walking, So, I did.
i sat down right there. On the sidewalk. Yeah, I know.
She walked a little bit forward before she realized I wasn't there.
She turned around and walked over to me and held out her hand to help me back up.
I took her hand, but instead of walking forward, I turned around and skipped onto the campus of the school, dragging Charolette with me.
I went and I sat by one of the walls and she did too.
We were quiet for a little bit, and I looked at her, she was looking at her phone.
"What are you thinking about?" I inquired.
"Nothing," She replied too fast.
"No really, what is it?"
"You really wanna know?"
"Uh, yeah?"
"This," She said and leaned over and kissed me.
This time, it wasn't a peck.
Yes she was still dating Chelsea, yeah I know, I'm a terrible person, no need to say it again.
I repositioned myself more comfortably in the middle of the kiss, and she pulled back thinking that's what I was trying to do.
I sighed and stood up and moved over to the grass area, where it would be more comfortable on my bottom. I laid down and looked at the stars.
I thought she was going to stay there, but she surprised me by coming over and laying down next to me and looking up at the sky with me.
I looked at her, "Why'd you kiss me?"
She kept looking up, "Because I wanted to,"
"It doesn't feel wrong to you?" I asked.
"The whole fact that I'm still with Chelsea does, but it doesn't feel wrong when I kiss you,"
Whoa.
"So how do you feel?"
"Right,"
I glanced at her, drinking her in.
She was wearing tight black pants and skater shoes. My eyes traveled up her body, and noticed the signature sag that she wore in her pants. I saw her shirt raised up a little bit to show her tucked in tank top and the little peak of her boxers. They kept moving up to where her torso was and noticing the complete and full overall "toned" look her muscles gave off. I kept searching with my eyes and saw her collarbone peaking out from beneath her shirt and her face.
Her face was beautiful. Her hair had fallen back from it, and the brown they were was slightly lighter that normal I blushed when I saw they were trained on me as well, but I continued taking her features in, when she asked, not rudely.
"What?"
"You're so beautiful," slipped out of my mouth. since I was already looking down at her from my elbow, I just leaned down and pressed my lips onto hers.
Sparks flew and I felt my pulse quicken, I felt arms around my back and I pressed myself down. I chuckled against her lips thinking about something...dirty.
"What?" She pulled back," What are you laughing at?"
"I was just thinking.." I let my voice trail off seductively teasing her.
"About?" She said, pushing my hair that had fallen in her face away." I slid one leg over the top of her torso, straddling her.
"This," I kissed her, letting my arms wrap around her neck and feeling hers wrap around my waist.
This was one of our longer kisses.
My skin tingled at her every touch, my lips burned from her passionate kisses. I wanted her in her entirety, she was amazing and I loved her.
Wait, what was I thinking, I couldn't love her, love was too painful...to dangerous.
All thoughts moved their way from my mind as she kissed me again.
"I love you," I slipped out, what did I do, that was wrong, I couldn't say that yet what the hell?
"I love you too," no hesitation.
"Pinkie Promise?" I said
She held out her pinkie and we kissed our own hands.
At eight thirty, she began to walk me home, the long way. I was okay with that. At literally nine, we turned the corner to cold-de-sac. She walked me all the way down to my house. I turned to say goodbye when she did something, uh crazy.
She put her arms around my waist except this time lower, putting them into my back pockets, and pushed me up against my front door, hard.
I had no problem with this as her aggressiveness turned me on immensely. I pulled away reluctantly when we had been going strong for a good three minutes and turned to go inside.
I opened and closed the door in a quick like manner and leaned against the back of my front door for support. I sighed smiling happily. I touched my now chapped lips that were burning profusely from her many kisses, I was in love.
i ran in, said a quick hello to my brother before running upstairs where I had a sleepless night thinking about the greatest night ever.
I was finally happy.
Finally.
