The ice-cold tiles stung her feet as she sprinted down the desolate hallway.
All the while her radio was talking to her, something that had never happened before, a broken message symbolising her only hope of survival. She thought she was alone.
As she ran she picked up broken fragments of the message, "Safe... outside... virus contained... survivors..."
She felt tears streaming down her cheeks, her lungs about to burst but she didn't stop. She had been locked inside this abandoned university for 4 months, too afraid to leave and completely alone. She saw the entrance ahead and pushed harder.
She fumbled with the lock and burst through the doors.
