|| Chapter 9 ||

"I can tell there's something wrong witchu'. Tell me do you wanna talk about it. You say you got a lot on your mind. Sit down, let's talk about it."

- Aaliyah

"Daddy?"

"The one and only baby girl," he said walking in the house, puffing on a cigar

He motioned for the four guys to stay outside of the door.

She was shocked and she felt like she had to throw up.

He was dead. She went to the funeral. She went to the burial.

"Marie I know yo' ass not down here smokin' in my house-" Malcolm said rushing down the steps. He stopped abruptly

"Pops? How? I thought you. Holy fuck," Malcolm didn't know what to say he was shocked, confused, and angry

"I can explain," their dad said sighing "First,
I didn't fake my death. I was in hidin',"

"Why? Who the hell you hidin' from? You a grown ass man, and put that fuckin' cigar out in my house. My girl upstairs," Malcolm said scrunching up his face

"Whatever man," he said, putting it out in the ashtray "On to the story. Some niggas was out for me. So I fled the country and told your mother I would be back in five months. She knew I was wit' another woman, but she cheated on me first. So instead of holdin' shit down, she told everybody I was dead. She even went so far as to havin' a fake ass memorial service," Malcolm and Maries eyes got wide, they were surprised

"I finally came back to the states. I couldn't come home, because I knew if I came and saw y'all yo' momma would try and rat me out so I stayed away. I have been watchin' y'all though,"

He took a breath "I ain't wanna tell y'all this, but yo' momma mentally fucked up. It's bad. That's why she always changin' personalities and shit. I'm tryin' to get custody of y'all's brothers right now,"

Marie was worried about her brothers. Their mother had taken all her brothers phones and iPods. She had no way of reaching them, and she wouldn't let Malcolm get them.

"So what we bouta' do? We need ta' get them out that house," Marie stated standing up

"My lawyer said if we can get her to give them up, then it'll be easy. It's also somethin' else y'all need ta' kno'," he took a deep breath "I got remarried, and I have other kids," he sighed

"What tha' fuck you mean! Hell naw'," Malcolm yelled shooting up from his seat getting in his fathers face "Ion' give a fuck what you and momma went through or been through. That's foul as fuck, we ain't know nothin' 'bout they ass-,"

"Malcolm clam down," Marie said pushing him back to sit down as his chest heaved up and down as he breathed hard "I wanna meet them," she said causing both her fathers' and Malcolm's eyes to widen

"You sure?-," her father was cut off

"Let's go," she rolled her eyes walking out the front door

After a fifteen minute drive, they ended up in the circle drive way of a nice. Big house.

Their father took the lead. Trying to open the door, forgetting which key was which.

After finally opening it, he was immediately faced with an all too familiar feeling. The but of the gun pressing into the front of his forehead.

"Is that any way to great your father?" He said to the person with the gun. Marie and Malcolm were unable to see, because of their fathers figure blocking them.

"Why the hell you decided to show up? You can't just pop up, thought you was a nigga breakin' in or somethin'," A voice Marie recognized said

"Watch ya' fuckin' mouth!" Their father yelled

"I've heard that voice.." She thought to herself "Sean?" She said finally stepping around her fathers tall and chubby frame. Sean had now put the gun down

"Marie?" They both were confused "What you doin' here?" He tiled his head

"Y'all know each other?" Malcolm asked

"Yea', we go to tha' same school," she said, still confused

"Marie.. Th-this is your b-brother," her father stuttered

"W-wha'chu mean my brother?" She asked shocked, she was shaking "He's older than me! You had kids before us?" She said

"This is me and my wife's son. She wasn't my wife then, your mom was. A few months after Malcolm was born, your mom told me she cheated on me, with my bestfriend. I left her, because I was so mad. When we saw each other one time, when I was dropping off stuff for Malcolm. You were conceived. Then, my girlfriend at the time told me she was pregnant with Sean,"

"This too fuckin' much," Malcolm said, rubbing his temples dramatically

"Daddy?" A little girl said walking down the long spiral staircase. Rubbing her eyes, with her right thumb hanging out of her mouth

"Hey babygirl," her dad smiled

Marie felt some type of way, because she thought she was the only girl. She was jealous.

"Daddy, who are they?" The little girl asked, nodding towards Malcolm and Marie

"They're your bother and sister. Malcolm and Marie," he smiled, Sean still hadn't said a word

"Hi! I'm Sage," she smiled, her big wide eyes resembled Maries

After looking in her eyes. Marie couldn't even be jealous "Hi Sage. I'm Marie,"

"So you're my sister?" She asked excitedly

"I guess so," Marie smiled as Sage hugged her leg

As soon as those words left Maries' mouth, Sean stormed off. He stomped up the stairs angrily mumbling things to himself.

"Sean!-" their dad yelled, before getting cut off by Marie

"I'll go," she said following him to a room at the end of the hall. She knocked lightly before going I'm. Seeing him on he edge of his bed, with his head in his hands

"Sean, look I know it's a lot. It's hard for me too, shit I just found out 'bout y'all too. 'Ian know what to think, but just kno' we in this shit togetha'," she said, shaking her head. Trying to convince him and herself

"I knew you looked like somebody, I just ain't realize it was me," he said barely above a whisper "That nigga always told me to be real and tell the truth. All that rah' rah' shit and he been lyin' to both our asses our whole life. Just fucked up," he let a tear slip

Marie just embraced him, she never has seen Sean this vulnerable. He was always laughing and cracking a joke. She had never even seen him frown.

"It's ok, I promise you. I know he fucked up, I know you're mad. You gotta talk ta' him, and tell him how ya' feel. Don't hold that shit in. Hell, I thought he was dead. You know how mad I was when he showed up at my door? You have to talk to him, matter of fact. We all need to talk to him, and ask why he kept us away from each other. On the bright side, you get me as a sister," Marie smirked, while Sean laughed wiping his tear

"Thank you for that, sister," he smiled, nidging her "But, it's something else we need to talk about," he sighed sitting up straight

"What is it?" She raised her eyebrow

"Brace yourself," he said looking in her eyes "Me and Jiya.. Had sex," he sighed looking down

"Y'all what?" Her eyes went wide

"We fucked Marie, damn!" He stressed, not wanting to repeat himself

"Why you so pressed? Something else goin' on. Tell me Sean," she demanded

"I think she's pregnant."
