I take a deep breath.
Today is gonna be a long day.
A new city.
A new school.
A new life.
Again.
That's the third time we moved out. The third time in two years.
And the reason is always the same.
I walk to the window and look the early morning New York. It's about 6 a.m., the sky is still dark.
At least New York looks better than Los Angeles.
I liked Los Angeles.
But we had to move.
Just like that time in San Francisco, and ,yes, that one in Nashville , where I was born.
I miss Nashville.
Today is my first day of high school and ,of course, mom and dad won't drive me. They have to show their faces the least possible.
Which is never.
They never went to the meetings with the teachers. And the excuse I have to give every time is "I'm sorry. They're busy for work."
But they acutally aren't.
All the money they have, well...
it's not theirs.
They steal it.
And, yeah. I can now say it:
they even kill.
