Boone's POV.
There wasn't a day that went by that people didn't mourn over the Courier. He'd been a blessing to all. Even people on enemy sides, had felt horrible after hearing of the passing of the Courier.
To most, Talos was but a legend made to cheer children up in the settlements across the Mojave. To me, well, he was a trusted friend. If I hadn't been in my spat with him before his passing, I think I would feel less.. But.. I guess that's not possible. We always argued, but he was always right when it came down to sink or swim. Maybe if he'd been wrong about his passing none of this shit woulda happened. Maybe the tales are true... Maybe my good friend is still walking the wastes alone again.
But surely that's a myth.. Rex had more of the scent of a T-Rex. He woulda smelled his owner by now. It's been four weeks.
I won't forget what he said to me before he passed... It haunts me at night.
"If anything happens, I'll still be here. My mission will never stop." That was when he shoved me inside the elevator and shut the door before I could do anything. I remember screaming until my lungs gave out and I laid shaking on the ground as Dr. Richards took me to Camp Golf to recover again. Talos was a fool and I'll never forget the time he smashed his head open and bled on Legionaries like a complete badass. Come to think if it, I think I still have some of his weapons laying around. He always kept them in great condition. I once noticed that he jury rigged a plasma cannon and made it spit out a sonic ray strong enough to kill a DeathClaw without a second shot. Which brings me to my next thought.
If I could have his brain at hand, could I turn him into one of those Robobrains that are protecting the, as Talos called it, the Big Empty? Could I transfer his every thought into a tub of bolts and wires?
What about if I transform his lobotomized body into a cyborg? Would Talos still be Talos?
