Dwemer Origins (A Skyrim Fanfiction)

Chapter 2

The machine decided it was best to head straight to the missing part. It seemed that if the aetherium wars was still going on that it had moved far away from this area so he shouldn't have to much trouble getting there at least. However he heard voices so he crouched down behind some bushes and observed. However he didn't find quite what he had expected. These people weren't dwemer but we're in fact nords. Luckily for them he had been programmed to kill soldiers and had no interest in killing harmless civilians like these. Upon further inspection however it appeared that these people were bandits posed no threat but they were certainly annoying. Without a second thought the machine marched towards the bandits. They saw him calling and one yelled. "Hey you were do u think your going?" "Get out of my way!" The machine ordered. "Tell you what" the bandit replied. "Give us all your gold and we'll let you go on your way". With that the machine quickly unsheathed a dagger from his side and held it up to the bandits neck. "Or how about you get out of my way and I let you leave with your life!" The machine then kept walking. Then suddenly he heard a 'tink' sound. The machine stopped and turned around. The arrow one of the bandits had fired barely even dented the metal of his armour. He pulled it out and dropped it on the floor. "I warned you" the machine said as he unsheathed his sword and walked back towards the bandits. "Kill him" one of them ordered. With that one of the bandits drew a sword and charged at the machine. As soon as he reached him the machine killed him in an instant without hesitation. Another bandit fired an arrow at the machine which the machine caught before it got anywhere close to his body. He then drew a dagger and threw it at the bandit who fired at him. The dagger hit the bandit in the heart and he collapsed, that left one bandit who was charging at the machine with some form of war hammer. The machine raised his arm to fire his crossbow. He pressed the trigger... But nothing happened. He looked at his wrist and discovered that the crossbow war missing! That was the missing piece he was looking for. However the bandit had almost reached him and as the he raised his war hammer the machine raised his shield to meet it. The war hammer smashed into hundreds of pieces at the contact of the aetherium crest in the middle of the shield. "What! This isn't possible" the bandit said looking had the handle of his broken war hammer. "No shield it that strong!" The bandit took out a dagger and slashed at the machine. The machine overpowered the man and drove the dagger into the bandits stomach. He then kicked him over and without a word, continued towards his goal.
