Helenas P.O.V :
-"Come on Helena hurry up.were going to be late." said Alice shouting while standing in the school doorway.
_" I'm coming in a minute Alex isn't here yet."
_" leave him be he can walk on his own. We're going to be late ourselves."
_"But... am..."
_" oh come on already you can't keep five other people waiting for Alex only."
_" you know what you guys go ahead we'll catch up with you later."
_" your prophetic you know that right? he's not even your date! His date is waiting for him over there! " said Alice as she closed the door behind her and left for the movie Theatre along with Michael , Rosie ,Jason and Mary Elizabeth.
I leaned against a locker behind me and let out a sigh.
I look down and my old black nail polish which really needed to be renewed and played with my fingers while I waited for Alex.
_" why is he late this time." I wondered as I crossed my hands not to feel cold.
Another cold breeze came in as the students were opening the door constantly to leave for their houses. I walked across the hallway and open my locker to get my sky blue sweater which was my favourite. I wore it and hugged myself not to feel as cold. I look down on my right sleaving and saw the little hole Which brought back a memory. This sweater used to belong to Alex. he gave it to me like 3 years back one day at the pit. I should explain 3 years ago when I had just entered Westfield high I didn't have any friends. I hadn't talked to anyone outside my family all summer and it was right after I had gotten out of... Nevermind. In the beginning of the school year one day when I was walking home I found this really old skating pit like 5 blocks away from the school. So because I didn't want my parents to think I was a loser with no friends I started going over there and did my homework and just hang out all by myself. One day when I got there I saw this tall guy with deep dark black hair riding his skateboard up and down the pit.
I slowly snuck up and sat on the edge of the pit looking down at him as he was trying to do a backflip. He finally succeeded at the 24th time then he started screaming from happiness.
I didn't understand that slowly I was getting closer and closer to the edge of the pit and once he did it I jumped up and down from happiness and I lost my balance and fell inside the pit.
I slowly opened my eyes with a massive headache and saw some tree branches blocking the view of the Blue Sky as someone whispered my name.
_"Helena... come on... open your eyes..." someone said and drifted their finger up on my cheek slowly. I open my eyes completely and saw a really big pair of brown eyes staring at me.
I let out a sigh and tried to get up but my body went into massive shock from pain and I screamed a bit.
_" hey hey hey ... Slow down." said the guy from the Pit and rubbed my back gently.
My eyes adjusted to the light and I saw that I was laing on the grass outside of the pit.
_" what happened?" I asked with a really raspy voice.
_" you fell down 5 feet deep into the pit you're lucky you're alive. I hope I didn't do any more damage while I carried you out of the pit."
_"ohh..."
_" what happened? what made you lose your balance?" He asked.
_" I'm... I just...I..."
_"Helena breath and tell me what happened?"
_"I ... am... I was just... Wait how do you know my name?"
_" it was written on your chemistry book I took the liberty of checking." He said with a bright smile.
_" I was just watching you practice and once you did it I just got excited."
_" did you just throw yourself down the pit?"
_"No! I lost my balance."
_" oh it wasn't that exciting!"
_" well in my experience doing something right after the 24th time of practice is really exciting!"
_" well thanks for throwing yourself down the pit for me! No one has done such a thing for me before!"
He said with a really huge gorgeous smile on his face as he offered his hand to helped me up.
_" sure you're ok? You want to go to the hospital or something?"
_"No I'm fine thanks! Am... Where's my sweater?"
_"well it's shredded into 2 pieces when it got tangled up on a nail in the pit." he said as he held it to pieces of black cloth in his hands.
_"shit!" I mumbled and took them from him.
_" where do you live? you want me to walk you home?"
_"It's ok. I just live a few blocks from here." I said as I started to shiver from the cold.
_" here." he said and took off his sweater and handed it to me.
_" no I can't..."
_" I insist the least I can do for someone who threw herself down the pit for me." he said and smiled.
I took his sweater and wore it. When I realized there was a tiny hole on the right sleeve.
_" how did this happen?" I asked.
_" I threw myself down the pit once for someone too and this is a memory of that." He said and winked and he got a skateboard from the ground.
" sure you're OK?"
_" yeah I'm fine."
_" well bye for now." He said walking away from me.
_" wait I didn't even catch your name!" I yelled.
_" it's Alex." He yelled as he kept running towards the street.
