“What?!” It was way too early in the morning to be getting this type of news.
“No seriously, we're actually pretty close,” my dad told me calmly, as if what he's saying is normal.
“And why didn't you tell me yesterday?!” I demanded.
“You ran upstairs,” he said, shrugging his shoulders.
“So, do you guys like hang out or something?” I asked.
“Of course! We haven't seen each other in some time because of work – we're both busy men,” he paused, letting out a little chuckle before continuing. “We should invite the whole family to dinner soon!”
“NO!” I shouted.
“Why? They're a very good family.”
“Dad! You don't know him like I do,” I wailed, like a little kid.
“Maybe you're the one who doesn't know him,” my dad guessed, before getting up.
“Oh trust me, I know him well.”
“We'll talk about this later. Work is calling for me and I can't be late!”
I rolled my eyes. Of course he can't spend any longer with me and it's always his work to blame.
“Hopefully, I can come home a little earlier tonight,” he kissed my forehead before heading towards the front door.
My life is like a never ending series of a horror movie. My dad found out who Tyler's dad is, and guess what? They used to work together in some company years ago – way before Tyler came to our school – and they kept in touch but they haven't seen each other for a long time because of work.
This is just wonderful! Beautiful.

“Ow!” I screamed at the hand who kept hitting me again and again.
“Sorry,” Olivia apologized. “But he keeps looking your way. It's just too cute!”
“No, he's not,” I said, turning around to see Tyler talking to a redhead senior.
“He was! He just doesn't want to make it obvious,” Olivia sighed. “I never expected him to be so romantic!”
“Romantic? Coming to my house when I'm beyond angry, doesn't make him romantic!”
“The only romantic things you've seen, is the stuff in movies and this is real life which means there's a different side to romance – real romance!”
“He's not romantic, he's pathetic!” I debated.
“Romantic.”
“Idiotic.”
“Sweet.”
“Jerk.”
“Hot.”
“Egoistic.”
“That's true.” Olivia finally admitted.
When the bell rang for third period, we made our way to our lockers which were close by to each other's.
“When's your next art lesson?” Olivia asked.
“Fifth period.”
“I can't wait!”
I raised my eyebrows. “Why?”
“I have more love stories to hear,” Olivia looked at me like I was stupid.
“Speaking about real love stories, lets concentrate on yours. Matt's making his way here – fix your hair.”
Olivia shrugged, not caring. “He's seen me worse.”
“Hey,” Matt greeted, sharing a kiss with Olivia.
I don't remember the last time I had a relationship. Oh yeah, nearly a year and half! Oh my God! Am I seriously that lonely?!
“Hey, what's this I hear about you?” Matt asked, putting an arm around Olivia.
“What?” I asked, unsure of what it could be. I don't remember a new rumour being spread around and if Olivia hasn't heard about it, it can't be that bad... I hope.
“About you and Austin.”
“I really don't know what you're talking about...”
“You're not going to Tyler's party with him?” Matt looked confused, just like I felt.
“What?! I'm not going to Tyler's party!”
“She is,” I heard Olivia whisper in Matt's ear. I glared at her whilst Matt just laughed.
“Who told you?”
“I over-heard people talking about it. I think they were seniors – I've seen them with Austin before,” he told me.
“My life sucks!” I complained before leaving Olivia and Matt alone.
Walking to my maths lesson, I tried to understand who the hell came up with that lie! Was it Tyler? Would he really make up something so stupid? Probably. Would he ever involve Austin? Never. It couldn't be Tyler. It just can't be Tyler, it must be one of the girls who are all over him or Austin.
Taking a seat in the third row, close to the window I heard the two girls behind me talk about Tyler's party.
“What should I wear?” I heard one of them whisper.
“Sophie told me he has a pool,” the other one whispered excitedly.
“Really? Are you going?”
“I can't miss the party of the year!” I heard a guys voice come into the conversation, I think it was the one everyone thinks is gay.
“Do you think Sienna would be going?” The same girl asked, lowering her voice but I could still hear her.
“Shh! She's right over there! And I heard she's going with Austin,” the guy replied.
“She already moved on to the senior?”
“You're just jealous she can get both of them and you can't even get one,” the guy said.
“No I'm not! I'm just saying it's a bit... slutty. Whatever, I can't wait!” She squealed with delight.
“Is Natasha going?”
“Ooh I really hope she goes. We could see another cat fight!” The two girls started laughing and I couldn't help but turn around and glare at them. One of them with dark brown hair, turned around to stare at the window and the other one with lighter hair, turned red and placed her head on the table.
Hearing them talk about Natasha and the fight, it reminded me that I have detention for an hour again. Hopefully I will be alone again.
Pushing that thought aside, I remembered that I have to find Austin at lunch and talk to him about what we're doing on Saturday because I know one thing for sure, I'm definitely not going to Tyler's party!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I stopped by my locker before going to the canteen, hoping to see Austin so we could talk but instead I saw Tyler talking, well more like flirting, with a different girl this time. I tried to not keep looking their way but it was a bit impossible, including the fact that they were very loud.
Trying to avoid them whilst walking past them, I saw Austin. I was going to run up to him but he turned around and made his way to where I was standing.
“I need to talk to you!” We both said at the same time.
I giggled before continuing. “You go first.”
“Ladies first,” he smiled in a teasing way.
“Seriously? Just say what you have to say,” I smiled back.
Someone from behind let out the most loudest laugh, causing me and Austin to look at them. It was Tyler and the girl.
In return to my frown, Tyler smirked before continuing to flirt.
I rolled my eyes. “Who the hell said we are going to his party?”
Austin grabbed my arm and took us to a corner so Tyler couldn't hear.
“That's what I want to know. I thought we were going to do something else!”
“I never said we were going.”
“Then who did?” he questioned.
“I don't know!”
“Do you think it was Tyler?”
“No!” I said a little too quickly.
“Yeah, you're right. He would find a different way to annoy you – one which doesn't involve me!” he muttered.
“To be honest, I would care more about this rumour but I've been through worse.”
“Let's just drop this stupid thing. What do you want to do on Saturday?” he asked instead.
“I have no idea! We could just hang out anywhere really,” I suggested.
Before Austin could reply, someone interrupted us by coughing. The person seemed to be Tyler which made me feel even more awkward.
I don't want to tell Austin that Tyler spent the evening at my house. That would just be weird and besides, I kind of prefer Austin right now.
“Are you guys coming to my party then?” Tyler asked casually.
I was confused. Why is he acting all calm and normal about me and AUSTIN going to his party? We're not even going! What the hell is going on?
“What?” I asked, dazed.
Obviously Austin was even more confused than I was. I wouldn't blame him. His 'enemy' just asked us if we were attending his party when only last Friday, Tyler warned him to stay away.
“I heard you were coming to my party with... him,” I could tell Tyler was having trouble talking in a nice manner to both of us.
“We're n–” Austin began, but I interrupted.
“We might come.”
“Really?” Tyler asked doubtfully.
“Yeah, of course. Obviously we won't come if we're not invited.”
“You are invited.”
“Is Austin invited?” I asked, hoping that I might get any more details about their big feud.
“Uh... sure, whatever,” he said looking down and he left before either me or Austin could say anything.
Austin stared ahead, probably thinking about what just happened.
“Are we seriously going?” Austin finally asked.
“Why not?”
“He wouldn't like it.”
“Exactly.”
Maybe I'm being mean, but what Tyler is doing is not even explainable. He acts mean, lovable, cute, annoying, rude, disrespectful, caring and many other things whenever he wants. He's played with my emotions too many times in such a short period that I don't even know who he really is. Is he the big-headed, rude, manipulative boy that everyone thinks of him or the kind, respectful, loving man that I've seen? This time it's my turn not to care.

When I walked into the art classroom, I was surprised to see that only Stephanie and Aiden were there. Where was Jodien? Where was Tyler?
I walked over to my seat, opening my black art book. I caught Aiden looking at me, but he quickly looked away and went to a brown cupboard to take out paint. I gave Stephanie a questioning look but she replied with a shrug.
The silence was killing me. Why wasn't Stephanie teasing me like usual? Why wasn't Aiden saying something stupid? Why was Aiden acting weird?
After a long half an hour, I couldn't stand it any more. “Where's Jodien?”
“Ill,” Stephanie replied automatically.
“Oh.”
“Tyler's at the principle's office,” she added, constantly painting a portrait in colour.
“Why?” I asked.
“Don't know.”
“Oh.”
This was weird. She never acted like this. Stephanie would usually joke about something. What was wrong with her? And why was Aiden always looking away when I caught him staring?
After a minute or two of silence I spoke again. “What's wrong with you guys?”
“Nothing,” Stephanie replied in a bored tone.
“So you're telling me it's perfectly normal for you to be acting this way and for Aiden to be so quiet and weird?”
“I'm not acting weird,” Aiden responded.
“Then why is it every time I catch you looking at me, you look away?”
“I'm not doing that,” he replied simply.
“Seriously guys, what's going on?” I pleaded.
“My problem is a little personal and Aiden is just being freaky as usual,” Stephanie smiled.
I smiled as well. That's more like Stephanie.
“I'm not being freaky!” Aiden exclaimed. Stephanie rolled her eyes.
“Did I do something wrong?” I asked Aiden.
“No, of course you didn't!”
I raised my eyebrows. “Really?”
“I was told to be careful, that's all.”
“Careful of what? I'm hardly any harm!” I laughed.
“I know you're not but I'm scared I will slip up and tell you something which I'm not meant to.”
“Like what?”
“Anything. People's secrets, y'know?”
“You think I would try and get secrets out of you?”
“Well, no but the other day you wanted to know about Tyler and Austin and I was told that I had to be careful – not just by you, but by everyone.”
“Who told you that?”
“Um... well, you know... it doesn't matter really... but it was... um... Tyler,” he mumbled.
“Aiden, to be honest with you, I really don't care what Tyler has to say. I'm done with his games and you shouldn't be afraid of him!”
“I'm not afraid! I just respect him like a brother.”
“I don't need your help to find out what happened between them two.”
I don't need him. I can find out by myself! That's the only reason why I'm going to his party with Austin. I'm going to find out what happened, no matter how long it takes!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I'm going to die of boredom, I thought to myself as the old, detention teacher carried on scribbling on a piece of paper.
I turned my head to the other side of the room where Natasha was sitting. She instantly looked away, fiddling with something in her hand.
She's acting too calm. She's probably up to something. I wonder if she has talked to Tyler recently and if so, I wonder what they've talked about.
Talking of the devil, a loud noise erupted from the door.
“Sorry I'm late sir,” Tyler spoke, winking at me.
