“Wake up loser…”
I groan because there are 3 things to be sad about and only one thing to be happy about. The happy thing is that Alex gets back from France today but the three bad things are that we have to go back to school, my brothers make my life a misery and I’m pretty sure that Sam just came into my room.
“I said wake up” he sneered in my ear.
I froze, opening my eyes slowly.
My eyes focus on Sam’s face as I feel a fist connect with stomach.
“Ouch…” I muttered.
He stood up and slammed the door.
Breakfast was as bad as usual. Mum left 2 hours ago and won’t get back until Friday. Great. I sat in silence, watching the minutes tick by on the clock when Sam spoke.
“Seeing as you lost your bike last week” actually Jacob chucked it in the road and it got run over “we have decided to let you ride in my convertible.”
I looked up cautiously, waiting to see their grinning faces to confirm it was a joke. But only Harry was smiling, but it was his fake smirk. He was my favourite brother because he was nice to me but unfortunately he wants to fit in so he follows Sam and Jacob’s every command, acting, speaking and looking like them. They all have brown smooth hair, bright green eyes and were born football players, just like dad. Unfortunately my hair is curly and I can’t play football to save my life (I’m more of a martial arts guy). The only thing our late father passed on to me was the green eyes.
As we drove to school I tuned out of their conversation and listened to my iPod. When we drove into the school car park the car was swamped with the entire football team and most of the cheerleaders. I slipped out the car and headed for the school building. Just before I got out of earshot I heard Zach say “why was the loser in your car, you haven’t changed you mind about the geek have you?”
“No!!” says Jacob “No way…”
And that’s when I saw Alex jump out of her car. God, she’s beautiful.
