I grabbed his shirt and pulled him closer to me. "Can't believe that we're doing this. Scott's gonna kill us."
"Shut up Stilinski." He chuckled and continued kissing me. How did I end up here in my bed with my best friend hovering above me. We weren't doing what you think. We both were still dressed. Stiles began to kiss down my neck. I moaned softly but was interrupted by the incredible annoying ringtone of Stiles' phone.
Groaning he grabbed it and answered. I rested my head on my pillow and closed my eyes for a minute. "Hello? Hey Dad. Yeah. That's okay. See you tomorrow." I opened my eyes and wanted to pull him back down but he stood up.
"What are you doing?" Wow, that sounded so needy. Stiles laughed and grabbed my hands.
"We're going on an adventure."
"Come on. It's a school night."
"Please. Just come with me." He pulled me up and I stood directly in front of him. I looked up at him and saw him looking down at me. Slowly I laid my arms around his neck and stood on my toes. "What are you doing?" Stiles whispered.
"Why are you being shy now Stilinski? We were making out on my bed like two minutes ago."
He smirked and pecked my lips. "I'm sorry honey but we're still going." I groaned and went out of my room.
"You're coming?"
"Yep." He said popping the 'p' and started following me.
"So what happened?" I asked as we left my house and went to his jeep which was parked right in front of my house. He opened the door for me. "They found a dead body in the woods."
I stopped in my tracks. "You're telling me that I'm about to go into the woods in the middle of the night to look for a dead body?"
"Yes."
"And you think that I'm okay with it."
"Yes?" It was more of a question.
"Stiles I can barely sleep alone in my room because of the darkness and now you want me to walk through the woods?"
Stiles stepped in front of me and took both of my hands in his. "You're not alone. I'll be there to protect you from the big bad wolf." He joked and I giggled a little bit.
I looked back at him and caught him staring at me again. "What's up?"
"Nothing. You're amazing." I blushed and kissed him. He kissed back but stopped seconds after. "We have to go or the police will find the body before we do."
"That would be horrible." He nodded smirking and closed my door after me. I watched him jogging around to the driver's seat. When he started the motor he grabbed my hand. "Stiles?"
"Yes Sweetheart?"
"What are we?"
"What do you mean?"
I scoffed. "I mean that we spent most of the holidays kissing and making out and I don't know what's happening with us. Best friends aren't supposed to do things like that."
"Maybe I don't want to be just your best friend" I blushed but sadly we arrived at Scott's house so we couldn't continue our conversation. I waited in the jeep while Stiles scared Scott to death. I could see how they argued but in the end both of them came to the jeep. Scott opened the door.
"Guess he convinced you too?" Stiles and I looked at each other and he smirked.
"Kind of."
He looked confused but decided to drop it. "So what's so important?"
"Two joggers found a body in the woods."
"A dead body?" I face palmed myself and tried to suppress my laughter. "No a body of water...... yes dumbass a dead body."
"You mean like murdered?" Scott surely had a lot of questions.
"Nobody knows yet. Just that it was a girl in her twenties."
"Okay let's go before I freeze to death." Stiles looked at me concerned before he shrugged off his jacket and gave it to me.
"Here"
"Thank You." I cuddled myself in his jacket and took in his scent.
"Lynn?"
"What?" Blushing I turned to Scott.
"Can you please go in the backseat?"
"No" I whined.
"Lynn please go in the backseat." Groaning I climbed in the backseat and cuddled myself back in Stiles Jacket.
We were walking through the woods with a flashlight. Scott was slowly falling behind because of his asthma. I followed closely behind Stiles in hope he would be able to protect me. Carefully he grabbed my hand. Scott wouldn't be able to see us anyway. Suddenly we heard barking and loud voices.
"Shit! Get down! Get down!" He pulled me down and put his arm around my waist and pulled me close to him. Scott laid down beside me and looked around.
"What's up Scotty Boy?"
"I think I lost my inhaler."
"Shit." I looked around but it was useless. "We have to look later. Are you alright?"
"For now."
"Okay guys let's go. I think we should head back." We nodded and followed Stiles. While we were running Scott was falling behind but before we could stop and wait for him a deputy saw us. "HEY YOU TWO STOP!"
"You've got to be kidding me." Stiles muttered as his dad the sheriff of Beacon Hills arrived.
"Calm down. These two belong to me." The other cops went away and Stiles' dad turned back to us.
"Hi Mister Stilinski." I smiled at him.
"Where's your other partner in crime?"
"He's not with us."
"I don't believe you."
"I have feelings too, Dad. Things like this hurt me." I giggled and slapped his chest.
"He wanted to have a good night sleep before the training tomorrow."
"So you two are out here alone in the woods. In the middle of the night and doing what?"
I looked at Stiles who took my hand in his. "We're taking a walk."
"Alone?"
"Yes Dad. I can get a date too. Why do you think I spent like the whole last month at her house?"
The sheriff clapped Stiles shoulder. "I'll go with you to your jeep. Then you will drive her back to her house. And we two are going to talk later."
Stiles opened the door of me and I sat down in the seat sighing. "What's up?"
I turned to look at Stiles who was already looking at me. "Where's Scott?" I asked concerned.
"I don't know but I'm sure he's fine. I bet he's already at home and sleeping."
"Are you sure?" I asked. He nodded and kissed me.
"I'm sure. Now let me drive you home." I nodded and grabbed his hand. I saw him smiling and closed my eyes contently.
"LYNN IT'S SCHOOL SO PLEASE SWING YOUR FUCKING ASS DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW! I DON'T FUCKING CARE IF YOU'RE TIRED OF FUCKING WITH YOUR SHITTY FUCKBOY YOU LITTLE FILTHY SLUT!"
I pressed my face in my pillow. That's my lovely mother screaming there. My dad died a few years ago and she basically hated me. She always told me that it was my fault he had left us. I had a little sister. I absolutely hated her because my mom still loved her. I know that she didn't really had something to do with it but still it annoyed me. Why couldn't we just be normal family again. Scott's father left Scott and his mom and I don't see her abusing Scott. Quickly I went into my bathroom to make myself at least a little bit representable for the first school day. After Stiles had dropped me of last night my mom totally escalated. She slapped me so hard that I crashed with my back against the hard metal edge of our fridge. I tried to cover it up as good as possible. Ten minutes later I was content and grabbed my bag. Stiles would be here to pick me up in a few minutes. I slipped out of the house before my mother could see me and stood on the street. Jackson, my neighbor, drove by in his Porsche but ignored me like usual. All of sudden I heard the door behind me closing. I just stared on the pavement in front of me.
"Lynn?" The small voice of my little sister came from next to me.
"What?" I asked harshly.
"Mommy said that you would take me to school."
"Is that so?"
"Yes."
"Well then I guess that leaves me no choice." In that moment I heard a crash coming from across the street. I looked up and saw my other neighbor Isaac Lahey picking up his bike. He blushed when he saw how I was watching him. I gave him a small smile. I knew for a fact that his dad was abusing him too. My mother and his dad were often drinking together. He smiled back but Stiles arrived and my full attention was on him. I quickly forced a smile. He didn't seem to notice though he just smiled at my little sister and I groaned.
"Hello Emily."
"Hi Stiles." I looked at my kind-of boyfriend and waited for him to look at me but it never came. He didn't know what my mother was like and what my problem with Emily was.
"Stiles can we just drive." I snapped. He nodded and started the engine. He wanted to grab my hand but I pulled it away. I looked out of the window with tears in my eyes but Stiles didn't see them. Instead he decided to talk with my little sister.
"So Emily how is school?"
"It's good." The rest of the drive passed with Stiles and my sister talking while I was looking out of the window silently crying. We dropped her off and continued driving to our school. I could feel his eyes on me.
"What's wrong with you?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that you've been ignoring me all morning."
"It's nothing. Emily is annoying me, it's Monday after the holidays and I didn't really sleep at all last night." I felt bad for lying to him but it was true I just left some things out.
"So it doesn't have to do something with me."
"No"
"Then why aren't you looking at me?" Hopefully my tears were dried, these were my thoughts when I finally looked at him. "And now smile." I forced a smile. He didn't accept it though: the next thing were his soft lips moving in synch with mine. This time I smile a genuine smile. "There we go." I giggled and reconnected our lips. Stiles laughed. "Let's go. Wouldn't want to be late on our first day in school."
Stiles and I walked to the building where Scott was already waiting for us. "Morning guys." We greeted him back. Scott raised his eyebrows at Stiles and nodded his head slightly in my direction. I looked up at Stiles who mouthed the word 'what' back at him. Confused I stared at my two best friends.
"What's up with you?"
"What?" They said at the same time.
"You're acting strange."
"We do?" I nodded at Stiles.
"I think you're still a little bit tired." Suspicious I took a last look on both of them before shrugging my shoulders.
"I have to admit that I'm a little bit tired because one of my friends talked me into finding a dead body in the middle of the night while the other one went missing without calling me." I glared at both of them and they looked at me guilty.
"We're sorry." Again I just nodded and hugged both of them shortly.
"Sorry boys but I have to go now Lydia is waiting for me."
"Wait!" Stiles grabbed my arm softly and pulled me back to him. "Since when are you hanging out with Lydia Martin?" Laughing I pulled my arm out of his grasp.
"I'm not 'hanging out' with Lydia" I quoted him "she just said she would copy me some of her notes from last year." Stiles looked at me like he couldn't believe what he had just heard.
"You're such a nerd." Giggling I shook my head.
"No I'm not."
"Yes you are." We smiled at each other and I moved closer to him. We kind of had forgotten about Scott until he coughed.
"Um guys I'm standing right here."
I blushed and quickly turned around. "Well I have to go now. See you later guys." I waved at them and rushed into the building. Lydia was already waiting at my locker for me and smiled slightly when she saw me approaching her.
"Hi."
"Hey Lydia."
"I don't have much time Jackson is waiting for me." I groaned on the inside. I absolutely hated Jackson but Lydia was okay when I was alone with her which wasn't often. Lydia opened her bag and pulled the copy out. "Thanks."
"You're welcome. See you around."
"Yeah see you." With that Lydia turned around and strutted to the hallways of the school like she owned them which she actually pretty much did. I opened my locker and messily threw my stuff in it but when I closed it a few meters away stood a girl I had never seen before. She had long brown and curly hair that reminded me a little bit of mine and was looking at her timetable. Slowly I walked over to her maybe she needed help because it was pretty obvious that she was new around here.
"Hello." I said carefully not wanting to scare her. Looking up she smiled at me.
"Hi."
"I'm Lynn." I said while stretching out my hand for her to shake which she luckily did because otherwise it would have been pretty embarrassing.
"I'm Allison."
"Nice to meet you. Are you new around here I've never seen you before?"
Allison nodded. "Yeah, my dad had to move because of his work so my mother and I kind of had to move with him."
"Cool... or not cool I mean......"
Allison laughed. "It's okay. I know what you meant."
I blushed relieved that she had understood. "Thank god. I'm not weird or anything like this but to be honest I'm not good in that whole making new friends thing. Maybe that's the reason why I have basically only two of them." Again I was happy that Allison seemed to understand me.
"Is this guy over there one of them or why is he looking at you?"
Confused I turned around and saw Isaac looking over to us. When he saw us looking back at him he blushed slightly before basically running away from us. "Um no actually I've never really spoken to him."
Allison looked at me equally confused. "Why was he staring at you then?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "I'm sure he was just looking because you are new around here."
"Yeah I guess."
"So where do you come from? And what's your first lesson?"
"I'm from San Francisco and to be honest I'm not sure they said I should wait outside so I guess I have to go now."
I looked at her disappointed. "Oh okay. Maybe we can meet up later at the Lacrosse practice so I can introduce you to my friends. They are a little bit weird but they are cool."
"I would love that. See you later Lynn."
"Bye." Happily I went to the English class and fell in the chair in front of Stiles.
"Hey." He whispered making me turn around to him.
"Hi."
"Why are you so happy?"
"I found a new friend."
"What? Lynn you know we can't trust new friends. We aren't good at making friends that's why we stopped years ago."
I shook his head at his words. "Stiles she's new around here and has no friends so I went to her and introduced herself."
"It's a female new friend?" I nodded. "Okay we can talk about this."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked trying not to sound too jealous.
"Nothing. Lynn?"
"Yeah?"
"Can we meet after school?" Of course he still had this effect on me so that I nodded blushing while smiling at him.
"Yes." "Mrs O'Connor and Mr. Stilinski is there anything you want to share with us."
We both shook our heads and looked down at our desks. Seconds after there was a knock on the door and Allison stepped in the room. I immediately waved at her and showed her the chair behind Scott which was the closest to me. Scott was staring at the new girl and Stiles and I laughed at his face. Laughing I lent back to Stiles.
"I think Scotty has a crush."
"Jep." We laughed but turned our attention back to the front where the teacher continued with his lesson.
Later I went to the stands to watch my two best friends practice. When I arrived I saw Allison sitting with Lydia. It kind of surprised me because Lydia never really had a thing for new students. Luckily I didn't have a problem with her so I could sit next to Allison.
"Hey Girls." They nodded at me. I watched how Allison and Scott made eye contact and smiled at each other. If this would work out and Stiles would have the guts to ask me out we could go on double dates I thought smiling and watched the players on the field. But I stopped smiling when I saw Scott making his way towards the goal. Sacred I looked at Stiles who looked back at me with the same expression. Scott was terrible as the goalie. Allison looked at me.
"Who is the boy?" Smiling I turned to her.
"That's one of my best friends. Scott McCalll." She nodded but I wasn't finished. "Do you see the other one on the bench? The one with the buzz- cut?" She nodded. "That's the other one. Stiles." Again Allison just nodded but her eyes were on Scott again. The whole practice was surprisingly good.
After practice Stiles dropped me off at my house. "I will come later is that okay?" I nodded unsure.
"Can we.... Maybe.... If it's okay..... "
"Lynn?" Stiles asked concerned.
"Can we meet at your place?" Stiles came around the car and stood in front of me.
"Is everything okay?"
I nodded. "Yeah sure. Everything's perfect. But we're always at my place."
"Okay if that's everything. Sure. I will pick you"
I nodded quickly glad that he bought it and pecked his lips. "Bye." When I entered the house nobody was there so I let out a sigh of relief and went straight into my room. I slowly stood up to do my homework when the doorbell rang. Hoping Stile came back and we could talk right now I sprinted down stairs and opened the door. Frozen I stared up at the man that stood in front of me. Obviously he wasn't completely sober. The man in front of me was Coach Lahey. My neighbor and the father of Isaac.
"Ey the little O'Connor." He scanned my body in a disgusting way and I just stared up at him without any emotions but in the inside I was scared shitless.
"What do you want?"
"Is your lovely mother here?"
"No!" I wanted to close the door but he held the door open.
"Can I wait for her?"
I shook my head. "I don't know when she comes back."
"What a shame. I would have loved to spend a bit quality time with you."
I wanted to puke but decided against it. "Yeah sorry." Slowly he turned around a made his way back to his house. I watched him until the door fell close. I just wanted to go back in my house when I heard the door open again. Quickly I spun around just to see Isaac coming out of the house. He looked at me and shot me an apologizing smile and to my surprise he made his way over to me. I began to feel quite nervous because I had never really spoken to him before.
"Hey." He said nervously and I answered equally nervous.
"Hey."
"I'm sorry about him. I didn't want him to bother you."
"That's okay Isaac. We can't do anything about our parents can we?" I laid my hand on his arm comfortingly but he pulled it away. Ashamed I looked down at the floor. "I'm Sorry."
Isaac shook his head. "It's okay I have to go to work now." And with that he ran away for the second time that day. The rest of the day passed with me doing homework and awaiting Stiles. Around five o'clock the doorbell rang and I opened the door and smiled up at Stiles who looked nervous.
"Hi." Suddenly he cupped my face and kissed me.
"What was that for?"
"Nothing. Can we go?" I nodded following him to his jeep.
