A happy day of vacation. That's how it all started. Five men. Five women. Two children. It was supposed to be a day of discoveries and relaxation.
But things don't always go as planned.
The first bomb detonated under the House of Parliament. Bricks and beams came crashing down, crushing visitors and Parliamentary members alike. Firefighters had a hard time controlling the blaze that followed.
Elizabeth Tower was blown apart seconds later, the victims screams overtaken by the tolling of Big Ben as they all plunged down to the street below.
The Tower of London was destroyed mere minutes after, taking with it both lives and precious history. The screams echoed through the city.
Next was Buckingham Palace, the walls collapsing under the force of the commandeered plane that slammed into the north wall. All thoughts for the visitors' safety was ignored as officials fought to keep the royal family safe.
Then, in the minutes of shock and disbelief that followed, the support struts of the London Eye were all severed by planted explosives, the individual capsules and their passengers being thrown into the dark waters of the Thames.
The twelve people in this story were all victims of this horrible terrorist attack. But, before we can see what became of them, we must go back to the beginning, to the day when this vacation was first conceived.
