"Well, well ... if it isn't the woman of my heart." Royce chuckled. "You just ruin the fun we're having here. Why so fast now?"
"You want me, now I'm here!" She wheel herself up to Royce and he stood up. "If you ever touch my boy Royce, I swear I would want to end up in jail for a reason – for killing you!" She pointed resentfully to Royce. "Please, just leave them out of this."
"I am not going to leave until I'm done with your ex." He looks at me and then look back at Mila. "He's the reason why you won't choose me. He's the reason why I can't even embrace you and love you the way I want to – he's the reason why I torture you whenever you think of him."
She thinks of me?
I blushed and I saw her blushing too.
"I'm done with him. I'm engaged to you! Aren't you happy about that?" She yelled at him. "I'm engage to you – and if you want me to forget about him then let's go somewhere far and be alone. Just us. No Micah, and no Jerome! You want that, right?"
She lied to me! She said she wasn't engage to him. She frigging lie to me.
Royce caresses her cheeks and leaned forward to kiss her, but she moved back, ignoring his kiss. "You see what I mean ..." Royce whispered and I could hear him. "You won't even stop thinking about him. The only thing I can do right now is kill him so you'd forget about him."
"Royce, I just escaped from the hospital for you! Do you even know how much pain I'm carrying with me right now because of that? I'm here, you're here ... let's go."
"How'd you know I would be here, baby?" Royce let out an evil laugh. "Did one of my ladies tell you?"
"Shut your mouth." She demanded him and he kept quiet. "Quit playing games with me and start walking."
"As you wish, M'lady." Royce bow to her like she was a princess or queen.
"Wait ..." I hold them when they were about to leave. "I would need to spend one night with her." I said without looking at both of them and George was still standing at the door. "George I told you that you can go, I got it from here."
George took one more look at both of them before closing the door behind him.
"Micah ..." Milada said my name slowly and in hunger as if she wanted it as well.
"Uhm ..." Royce said as he gave me a sly leer. "Not going to happen, but thank you though for your honesty and for asking for my permission."
"I didn't ask for your permission, I said I need to spend one night with her. One night only." I told him again and this time, he was all ears. "I just need to talk to her. Who knows, she might also become as bad as you are."
"Well," he looks at Mila and Mila was looking at me, but I didn't want to look back at her, "don't we all need a bad girl in our lives? Sometimes they give us more credit than good girls." He caresses Mila's cheek and turned her to face him. "Don't you think so, baby girl?"
"Don't you baby girl me. Cary, does it sexier than you." She slap off Royce's hand away from her and then looks another direction away from him. Cary? Who the heck was Cary?
"If you talk about her like that again –"
"Micah." Mila stops me and I did. "Please, just let it go."
"You shut up." I said to her. "I will deal with you later." I went up to Royce and whispers in his ear. "If you still need to keep your name safe, you will do as I say too."
"Fair enough." He agreed. "I will pick her up first thing in the morning."
"Good." I said before heading upstairs, ignoring Mila and him. "Now get the hell out of my house before I call the police."
"Ohh! I'm scared!" Royce throws his hands to the air and then giggles. "Oh Milada, my lady girl, your ex is so much fun! But I'm afraid I have to go, so keep your chains on until I come back, alright boy?" Now he's teasing me like I'm a dog! I fist my hands and waited until he was out of sight.
After taking another shower, I was only wearing my pyjama pant. I was sitting outside the balcony of my room, staring up at the cloudy night sky and drinking three bottles of Corona, still up for another four.
I just wanted Mila to stay – I want to talk to her but she's the reason I can't. She lied to me about the engagement.
Why would she lie to me about that? Was it because I might get jealous? This girl doesn't even know me at all.
The night was getting cold, so I was going to head back inside to put on a sweater, but Mila was there. She was in the centre of my room on her wheelchair, staring at me with her beautiful motionless eyes. She looks scared. How long have she been in my room for?
"What are you doing here? How long have you been in here as well?" I asked her when I headed to the draw to my left and grabbed a sweater to wear.
"You said you wanted to talk to me and I just got in." She murmured in a low voice.
"I'll talk to you when I want to. Now is not the time. Get out." I ignored her again and walk outside.
"But I thought that ... maybe it's better we talk now than –"
"Mila!" I shouted at her. "Shut the hell up! I need a moment to think."
"Why are you so mad at me? What have I ever done to you for you to treat me like this?"
What have you ever done to me? Girls and their stupid questions.
"Why are you being so stupid, huh? Answer that for me then!" I talked back. "Why are you so stupid that you give up so easily to this guy and doesn't continue to fight for your son's future? Why would you also frigging lie to me about the engagement?"
"It wasn't supposed to be like this, Micah. You know that." She cried.
"How was it supposed to be then? Letting him continue to hurt you? By keep on lying to my face or defend him?"
"I'm not defending anyone here and you kow that." She wheel to me, but I turned around and continue walking outside and sat down on the chair I sat on, took a long sip with my Corona until it's finished, then I grab the other one.
"Why are you doing this to me?" She condemned. "Why are you so upset?"
"You're blaming me?" I scoff. "Are you really going to do this right now? Well I blame you for everything. I blame you for not telling me I had a son, I blame you for not telling me about your 'brain tumour' and I also blame you for ruining my life!"
"You got me pregnant!" She screamed and I could feel myself shaking.
"And there you blame me again! You should've known better not to date anyone then and provide for our son! But what did you do? You just went on and enjoy the rest of your life with a man who doesn't even respect you. And if you did call me or e-mail me or something, I would've done something."
"Would you? You above all, you're the reason why I'm messed up." She took a deep breath and wipe her tears off her soft face. "You know what? My father was right about one thing when we were talking about you." She paused as if she thought I was going to respond. "You don't care about anyone else but yourself." She sniffs and turned her back at me ready to leave the room.
"Stop blaming me and start asking yourself questions. Then go ask the pigs for the answers, they might have it."
"You're mean!"
"And I should be!" I became louder and I could hear my voice echoing down the hallway. "You deserve to get yelled at by me so that you'll feel the pain that's torturing me too! You're a stupid, lazy, and the most crazy woman I've ever had in my life!" I accused her.
Whoa! That's a wrong move to make, Micah. Wrong move to make.
"Mila ..." I groan soundlessly. "Wait, I'm sorry." I apologised.
"I'm getting married and you can have Jerome. I don't want him near me when it's your face I see from him."
"Mila don't talk like that. He's also your son." I went up to her and kneel before her, cupping her hands in mines. "I'm sorry I said those things – I was angry, I just can't lose you like this."
"Like what? We'll have peace if I do this."
"I won't." I admit but she won't believe me. "I won't have peace at all. If you leave now with him, you know that I won't stop looking for you. You know that I will do everything – used every penny I have to look for you, travel across the country searching for you because you're the only woman I want in my life."
"Micah enough! Stop showing your weak side because it's not going to work."
I moved toward her but she backed out. "I just want ... to lie down next to you and talk life with you, that's why I wanted you to stay. But instead, you came in my room in the wrong time and –"
"Micah, don't do this. Please don't make me fall in love with you again. I can't. I won't handle it well."
"You can, if you let me. Let's run away together. Let's take –" I stopped when she threw my hands down.
"Oh my god, Micah! Don't you even understand the word 'stop' or 'don't'? This is reality. I can't run away and you know that. Royce will come after me." She slammed both of her hands on her forehead and it was blocking her pretty face.
"No I don't know that. Is it because you're in a wheelchair or is it because you choose this guy over me and Jerome? Forget about Royce. We're both men, we want the same girl – so what? I'll fight battles with him."
She stared at me in disbelief and to her astonishment, she shook her head and laugh, but there were tears rolling down from her cheeks.
"I can't believe you just said that. I can't believe you would let me choose when the choice is already been made. I am not a prize!" She said.
"We can still run away – I can book the earliest flight tomorrow morning and we can leave here with Jerome and go somewhere far where no-one will ever bother us. Or we can borrow the jet that my father's using and explain to him –"
I paused when she quickly wheel herself out of the room without saying anything.
"Where are you going? Hey! I'm talking to you!" I told her, but she wouldn't stop. "Milada!" I yelled, but still didn't respond. So I followed her to her room. "I said I am talking to you! Don't you dare turn your back on me!"
When she finally got in her room she was before, she slammed the door before I could even go inside.
"Mila open the door this instant!" I knock louder on the door and try the handle to open it but she locked it from inside. "This is my house and you have no right to lock doors in my house."
"Well, what rights do I have when I'm with you? You're nothing but a love expert kind of guy and I'm nothing to you but trouble."
"Oh yeah? Is that what you think of me after you cuddle yourself next to me at the hospital?"
"I just –"
"Open this door right now or I will open it myself."
"Micah ..." Yira murmured my name behind me. "What's going on? Why are you arguing with Mila?"
"This is none of your concern. Give me the key to this room."
"Maybe I can talk to her. Just let me talk to her and I'll see what's –"
"Yira?" Mila whispered from the door.
"If you want to keep your job ..." I disturbed her. "You do as I say. I will not let you interfere in my life ever again if you don't know how to keep that mouth of yours shut."
"Yira please, make him go." Mila begged from the door.
She wants me gone? I hope that's not true.
"Mr. Matson!" George called for me once he came in the house. Dammit!
"Great! Looks like we're going to have a little family reunion after all. What do you want George?"
"No Mr. Matson, not about that, it's your brother. He wants to talk to you."
"Not now, tell him I'll call him tomorrow—"
"Mr. Matson, he's outside right now. He's a little furious." George denied. "He's also drunk."
"Drunk?" I repeat.
Dammit!
I ignored Mila and looks at Yira who was looking away from me. "When I return, that door must be open and if it's not opened, I will fire you immediately, you got it?" She sniffs. "Do you get me, Yira?"
"Yes sir, I hear you." She babbled.
"Good. Now get it open before I return." I ordered her and she did as she was told.
Why am I being hard on her now? I'm mad at Milada and I'm taking it out on everyone. I feel stupid.
When I got to the front entry, Jayce was standing there holding a bottle of red wine. He is drunk.
"What are you doing here Jayce? Why are you drinking and driving?" I look to my right and his car was parking sideway, almost hit my house.
"Don't worry, I grabbed a chick from the bar I was at and told her to be my driver for tonight. I'm paying her good amount of money." He mumbled.
"What?" I asked in surprise. "Did something happen between you and Myla?"
"Did something happen? Hmm ... let me guess, nope. Nothing happened between me and Myla. But if you do tell her that I grabbed a chick for the night, I will have your head chopped off in your sleep, alright?"
Okay? "Then why are you grabbing chicks for the night? I mean, you were never like this when you were married to Myla."
"Why do you care? It's not like we've talked for the last past three years when I was gone." He said hoarsely.
"Actually we did, the second year. You told me that you've never found anyone so attractive except for your wife. So, I'm sure you've forgotten about that." He ignore me and turns around with his back facing me.
"Why didn't you tell me that you and dad are now in good terms? And that you're running the company too?" Shit! This can't be happening right now. "You're often very quiet right now too, I guess what I said was true." He went on when our eyes met again.
Uh-oh ... you're so busted Micah baby. So ... busted. Kill me with your thoughts on this chapter.
Catch up later!!! <3
