Destiny
I gazed up at the stars, laying beside Nash in the back of my truck. I smiled at him while he was telling me a story about him and his family going to the lake this one year when he was ten.
"Hayes pushed me out of the boat while a rope was attached to my foot, I ended up dangling from the boat." I laughed hysterically at the story, "It was scary!" He laughed with me.
"It seemed like a blast." I laughed more, his family was amazing, I was the only child so I couldn't have memories like that.
"Overall it was great." He smiled and ran a hand through his hair.
"I'm the only child so I've never had experiences like that before." I sighed, "I've always wanted a sibling but my mom was diagnosed before she could even put me in grade school."
"Your mom has been fighting for awhile." He looked at me.
"Well the tumor would go away then come back, unfortunately my moms hopeless. I'm lucky to have spent this much time with her." I was fighting the tears, I just hate thinking about losing my mom at any time.
"Come here." Nash pulled me into him and connected our foreheads together.
"Just know, she has held on for you. Soon you're going to have to leave the nest and your mother will be proud to see that." He held me close, "Not everything lasts forever, so live each day like it'll all end tomorrow." I will remember that. Nash was right, I'm lucky to have had my mom this long so think positive. My mom always thinks positive with her life and I always think negative, I need to fix that.
"You're a great person, Nash. I'm so sorry you have this sickness." Nash doesn't deserve this life, he has so much ahead of him.
"I'm still fighting and I'm determined to win." He smiled.
"I'll be there to help you." I looked at him.
"You will?" He asked.
"Yes, everyday." I nodded and he pulled me closer into him to the point where I could breath his cologne, and I wasn't complaining.
I pulled into Nash's driveway, it was currently 2:00 a.m. and I'm not sure how my dad would feel about this, although he told me to go hang out with a friend.
"Thanks for taking me out, Destiny." Nash smiled, "it was the best first date I could ask for." He blushed.
"I agree, and I hope there will be more for you and I, together." I smiled.
"Definitely." He hugged me tightly and kissed my cheek.
"I'll see you tomorrow." I unlocked my car doors.
"I'll see you." He smiled then opened the door and got out.
I watched him walk into his house, I don't know what I'm feeling right now. Nash is like some kind of Angel sent to me from heaven. Heaven will be seeing me soon if I don't get home.
