Far from the snow-covered mountains, the golden kingdom of Aaranyapura awakened to another peaceful morning.

The palace courtyards echoed with the melodies of temple bells. Servants hurried through marble corridors carrying trays of fresh flowers, while royal guards changed shifts beneath towering sandstone gates.

To anyone looking from outside, the kingdom appeared as prosperous and secure as ever.

But beneath its glittering beauty...

A shadow had already entered the palace.

Inside the Royal Council Chamber, Emperor Veerendra sat upon the carved sandalwood throne. Around him gathered the kingdom's most trusted advisors.

General Rudra, commander of the royal army.

Chief Priest Somdev.

Treasurer Harivardhan.

And the emperor's oldest advisor...

Minister Vishrant.

For over thirty years, Vishrant had faithfully served the royal family.

He had witnessed Aisha's birth.

He had advised three generations of rulers.

His wisdom was respected throughout Aaranyapura.

No one questioned his loyalty.

Not even the emperor.

"The northern trade routes remain quiet," General Rudra reported.

"Our scouts have found no sign of invading armies."

"Good," Emperor Veerendra replied.

"But the disappearance of children near the Sacred Forest concerns me far more than foreign kingdoms."

Priest Somdev bowed his head.

"The temples report strange omens."

"Oil lamps extinguish without wind."

"Holy rivers grow restless during the full moon."

"The people are frightened."

Before anyone could respond, Minister Vishrant spoke calmly.

"Fear spreads faster than truth, Your Majesty."

"We should avoid alarming the kingdom without evidence."

The emperor nodded thoughtfully.

"Perhaps you are right."

No one noticed the brief smile that crossed the minister's face.

Later that afternoon, Queen Meher stood in the palace gardens, watching peacocks wander among blooming roses.

She looked toward the northern mountains, hidden beyond the distant horizon.

"I hope she's safe," she whispered.

Beside her stood her personal attendant, Lakshmi.

"The princess has always possessed a brave heart."

"Sometimes too brave."

The queen smiled faintly.

"She inherited that from her father."

Yet despite her smile...

An uneasy feeling refused to leave her heart.

That same evening, Minister Vishrant walked alone through the palace library.

After ensuring no one had followed him, he pressed a hidden stone carved into the wall.

With a deep rumble, an ancient doorway slowly opened.

A narrow staircase descended beneath the palace.

The minister lit a torch and disappeared into the darkness.

Deep beneath Aaranyapura lay forgotten tunnels built centuries before the kingdom itself.

Few living souls even knew they existed.

Vishrant walked confidently until he reached a circular chamber.

Ancient symbols covered its walls.

At the center stood a black crystal basin filled with swirling shadows.

The minister removed a small obsidian pendant from beneath his robes.

Immediately, the shadows stirred.

A familiar voice echoed from the darkness.

"Kaalnath."

"My lord."

The shadows gathered into the sorcerer's ghostly image.

His crimson eyes glowed within the crystal.

"You have news."

Vishrant bowed deeply.

"The Moon Guardian continues toward the northern sanctuary."

"And the Forest Keeper?"

"He remains by her side."

Kaalnath smiled coldly.

"As expected."

"Their affection grows stronger."

The minister hesitated.

"Should we separate them?"

"Not yet."

The sorcerer's smile widened.

"The stronger the bond..."

"...the greater the suffering when it breaks."

Kaalnath's image turned toward the palace above them.

"Tell me."

"Has anyone suspected you?"

"No."

"The emperor still trusts me completely."

"And the queen?"

"She believes me loyal."

Kaalnath nodded.

"Excellent."

"The kingdom weakens more effectively from within than from outside."

The minister reached into his robes and produced several rolled parchments.

"The palace defenses."

"The northern watch schedules."

"The locations of sacred relics."

"I've copied everything."

Dark mist rose from the basin and wrapped around the scrolls before they disappeared.

"Very good."

Kaalnath's voice became colder.

"The time approaches."

"When I give the command..."

"...the gates of Aaranyapura must stand open."

The minister bowed again.

"As you wish."

Unknown to them...

Someone had witnessed everything.

A small palace servant named Gopal had entered the underground passage while chasing a frightened kitten.

Hidden behind a broken pillar, he watched the mysterious meeting with wide eyes.

His hands trembled.

He recognized the minister immediately.

When Kaalnath's terrifying voice echoed through the chamber, fear seized him.

The kitten suddenly meowed.

The sound echoed loudly.

Vishrant spun around.

"Who's there?"

Gopal froze.

Without thinking, he ran.

"Catch him!"

Dark shadows burst from the crystal basin.

The young servant raced through the underground tunnels, his heart pounding.

Behind him, black smoke rushed after him like living creatures.

He stumbled, nearly falling.

"No..."

"Please..."

Just as the shadows reached him, a ray of moonlight broke through a crack in the ceiling.

The shadows hissed and retreated.

Gopal escaped into the palace gardens.

Panting heavily, he collapsed near the queen's pavilion.

Queen Meher hurried toward the frightened boy.

"Gopal!"

"What happened?"

The child struggled to breathe.

"The minister..."

He pointed toward the palace.

"The underground chamber..."

"Dark magic..."

The queen knelt beside him.

"Slowly."

"What minister?"

The boy whispered one trembling word.

"Vishrant."

The queen's expression changed instantly.

"That's impossible."

"I saw him."

"He was talking to..."

The boy's voice shook with terror.

"...the Shadow Sorcerer."

Minutes later, Emperor Veerendra, General Rudra, and the palace guards gathered in the hidden tunnels.

The secret chamber still existed.

The crystal basin remained.

But it was empty.

No shadows.

No minister.

Nothing except faint traces of black ash upon the floor.

General Rudra examined the symbols.

"This isn't ordinary sorcery."

The emperor looked troubled.

"Find Vishrant."

"Immediately."

The search lasted until midnight.

Finally, the guards discovered the minister attempting to leave the palace through an abandoned eastern gate.

He did not resist.

Instead...

He smiled.

"You finally noticed."

The emperor stepped forward.

"Why?"

"I trusted you like a brother."

Vishrant lowered his eyes briefly.

"For many years..."

"I deserved that trust."

The emperor stared in disbelief.

"What changed?"

The minister laughed softly.

"No kingdom lasts forever."

"Kaalnath understands that."

"He offers a new world."

"A world where fear keeps order."

Queen Meher looked at him sadly.

"You truly believe fear creates peace?"

"No."

Vishrant answered honestly.

"But it creates obedience."

General Rudra drew his sword.

"You betrayed every person who believed in you."

The minister looked toward the northern mountains.

"No."

"I merely chose the winning side."

Before the guards could seize him, the obsidian pendant around his neck shattered.

Black smoke exploded through the courtyard.

A wall of shadows separated him from the soldiers.

When the darkness disappeared...

Vishrant was gone.

Only his broken ministerial seal remained upon the palace stones.

Silence filled the courtyard.

No one spoke.

The betrayal hurt more deeply than any battle.

It had not come from a stranger.

It had come from a man who had helped raise the princess.

A man who had shared meals with the royal family.

A man they had called friend.

The emperor closed his eyes.

"The darkness has entered our home."

Queen Meher looked toward the moon shining above the palace.

"We must warn Aisha."

General Rudra nodded.

"If Kaalnath has someone inside the palace..."

"...we cannot know who else may be working for him."

For the first time in generations, distrust spread through the royal court.

Every smile became uncertain.

Every whispered conversation raised suspicion.

Every loyal face suddenly seemed capable of hiding another secret.

High in the northern mountains, Aisha suddenly awoke from an uneasy sleep.

The Moon Guardian pendant around her neck pulsed with cold silver light.

Arhaan immediately noticed.

"What happened?"

She looked toward the distant south where Aaranyapura lay hidden beyond the horizon.

"I don't know."

She placed a hand over her heart.

"But something is wrong."

"A darkness..."

"...has entered my home."

Far away, in the black halls of his fortress, Kaalnath watched the kingdom through his obsidian mirror.

The palace was no longer united.

Seeds of fear had already been planted.

And he knew one truth above all others.

No fortress falls first because of enemies outside its walls.

It falls...

...because someone opens the gate from within.
