Long before the world knew they existed, before the word Special carried any meaning, there were people who possessed something extraordinary.

A power that did not come from technology.

A power that did not come from magic.

It came from within.

Every wielder was born with a Spirit Beast dwelling deep inside their soul. Ancient creatures of spiritual energy, each different from the next, granting their wielders abilities beyond those of ordinary humans.

But in the beginning, no one understood them.

They didn't know how to communicate with their beasts.

They didn't know how to control their power.

And they certainly didn't understand the danger that came with awakening it.

Then came the first wielder.

Z.

No one knew his true name anymore.

Centuries had erased it from history.

What remained was only the letter.

Z.

The first known wielder.

The founder.

The man who gathered the earliest Spirit Beast wielders together and established the first dojo—a place where they could learn to understand the power living within their souls.

Among those first students was a family that would eventually become one of the most important bloodlines in the history of the Dojo.

The Shizugawa Clan.

They were not descendants of Z.

They were not his heirs by blood.

But they became his keepers.

The Shizugawa learned everything Z taught them. They trained relentlessly, mastering martial arts, spiritual energy and the difficult art of synchronizing with their Spirit Beasts.

Generation after generation, the family passed those teachings down.

Their name became synonymous with discipline.

With precision.

With loyalty.

And with mastery.

But the peaceful era of the first Dojo did not last.

Something emerged from the depths of the spiritual world.

Wielders unlike anything Z had ever encountered.

Their Spirit Beast energy had become twisted by an ancient darkness, transforming them into beings capable of terrifying power.

They became known as the Dark Wielders.

The first Dojo fought them.

The Shizugawa fought beside Z.

And for a time, they believed they could win.

They were wrong.

The battle consumed them.

One by one, the first wielders fell.

Their Spirit Beasts roared through the battlefield as spiritual energy tore through the land. Buildings collapsed. Ancient techniques were unleashed. The boundary between the physical and spiritual worlds began to fracture.

Still, the Dark Wielders continued advancing.

Until Z finally understood the truth.

They could not be destroyed.

Spirit energy could not simply cease to exist.

If the Dark Wielders were killed, their energy would only change form.

They needed to be contained.

So Z made a decision.

He would create a prison.

A prison beyond the physical world.

Beyond the spiritual realm.

A place so distant that even the darkness itself could not reach it.

Far beyond the darkness of the dark.

But the power required to create such a prison was beyond anything a human body could withstand.

Z knew the price.

He would have to give everything.

His Spirit Energy.

His strength.

His life force.

Everything that remained of him.

The surviving members of the first Dojo watched as Z stood alone before the darkness.

His body trembled.

The spiritual energy surrounding him grew brighter and brighter until it consumed him.

He was burning himself from the inside out.

Down to his very core.

Yet he never stopped.

The seal began to form.

The Dark Wielders screamed as the darkness around them collapsed inward.

The Shizugawa ancestors could only watch.

They knew what was happening.

Their founder was dying.

Their teacher was dying.

Their friend was dying.

But Z continued.

Until finally—

the seal closed.

Silence fell.

The Dark Wielders were gone.

Imprisoned beyond the darkness.

And Z...

was no longer there.

The first Dojo had paid an unimaginable price.

Its warriors were dead.

Its founder was gone.

And the surviving Shizugawa made a vow.

They would protect the Dojo.

They would protect its teachings.

They would protect the secrets Z had died to preserve.

And they would wait.

For generations, the Shizugawa Clan fulfilled that vow.

Their descendants became masters, instructors and guardians of the Special Dojo.

The stories of Z slowly faded.

The ancient war became history.

History became legend.

And eventually, legend became myth.

The modern world forgot that Spirit Beasts existed.

It forgot that wielders had once fought a war against darkness.

It forgot the name of the first Dojo.

It forgot the sacrifice of Z.

But the Shizugawa remembered.

They had to.

Because their entire existence had been built upon his legacy.

And eventually, a boy was born into the Shizugawa Clan.

A boy who carried the family's traditions upon his shoulders.

His name was Logan Shizugawa.

Sixteen years old.

Calm.

Cold.

Disciplined.

Exceptional.

His Silver Wolf moved with him almost as though they shared a single mind.

To the students of the Special Dojo, Logan was the embodiment of everything a wielder should be.

He was the heir.

The prodigy.

The future of the Shizugawa Clan.

The next generation's greatest hope.

But there was something the Shizugawa family did not know.

Something lost to history.

Something hidden beneath centuries of forgotten bloodlines.

The direct descendants of Z had disappeared.

Their name had vanished.

Their family had been scattered.

And somewhere beyond the walls of the Dojo...

a fourteen-year-old orphan was sleeping beneath the night sky.

He had no family.

No home.

No knowledge of his ancestry.

He survived by begging.

By stealing.

By fighting.

By doing whatever was necessary to survive another day.

His only family was a group of street criminals who had taken him in.

His name was Damon Cres.

And deep within his soul...

something was waiting.

Something ancient.

Something powerful.

Something that had not been seen since the time of Z.

A creature with obsidian scales.

Massive wings.

Long horns.

And eyes that burned with a terrifying crimson light.

An Ancient Black Dragon.

Damon didn't know it yet.

The Shizugawa didn't know it.

The Special Dojo didn't know it.

But the bloodline they had spent centuries protecting...

had returned.

And when Damon Cres finally stepped through the gates of the Special Dojo, the forgotten history of Z would begin to awaken.

The legend had never truly ended.

It had only been waiting for him.
