Fighting for air
I heard the tires screech, but nothing could be done,
No air left in my lungs, but I wanted to run,
"No", my brain said, "No running for you.",
My legs couldn't move, so I know it was true.
Glass shattered across my face; piercing, ripping the skin,
Scarlet oceans built around me, as my world started to spin,
I had no control over what was happening, turmoil rang through me,
The essence of life attempted to flee,
But I held on, not willing to let go,
I inhaled the heavy air, I wanted to live, I wanted to grow.
Darkness surged all over, the light faded away,
But I knew I was only asleep; I was a fighter, not taught to obey.
