A'Maya POV
I took a seat in the back of my 3rd period class and plugged my ear phones in since I was 10 minutes early. After the first bell rang, mobs of people came in the classroom, holding their own conversations while I went through my notes for my Math test tomorrow.
Mr. Phillips came in the classroom as soon as the second bell rung, indicating that we should be in our seats. As he closed the door, I looked around the room for my best friend since middle school, Bryan aka Bink, but didn't see him.
"Miss. Davis, is there an answer for your eyes not to be looking forward and paying attention to the lesson". He said in his thick British accent. I shook my head and continued writing notes.
12 minutes later Bink flew in the room out of breath, Making all of us turn his way. He looked my way and smilies as I waved.
"Mr. Michaels, nice to see you, do you have a pass?" Mr. Phillips asked as Bink gave him a pink sticky note. Mr.Phillips looked at his watch and back at Bink.
"You are 15 minutes late, with a pass so I will let it slide, during work time, ask the people around you for earlier's notes" Bryan nodded and sat next to me, still outta breath.
"What happened?" I whispered to Bryan.
"Coach made me do eight laps around the gym" He responded.
After Class
Me and Bryan walked to the cafeteria for lunch, got us some hamburgers and went to our regular seat. As we got closer, we saw someone that's didn't look familiar and stopped. Bink pushed his shoulder towards mine.
"You know the kid?" He asked as we continued walking. We sat our plates down across from the boy and he looked up.
"Hey, you must be new, am A'Maya or Mymy and this is Bryan but everybody call him Bink" I said showing him my dimples in a smile as I stuck my hand out for him to shake. He shook it and smiles back showing me his braces and dimples. He shook hands with Bink.
"Jeremiah, am a Senior" He said as he took a bite of his burger.
"We are too, where you from?" I asked eating my fries.
"Washington, I just moved down here a couple days ago" I nodded and asked for his schedule.
"You got 4 classes with me and 2 next door, are you good finding your way arou-"
"Stop questioning him My" Bryan said cutting me off. I play punches him in the arm and laugh with Jeremiah.
"Not really, I got lost a lot today" He stated.
"Didn't they give you a map or sum?" Bryan asked.
"Yea, but I still be getting lost with the map" he responded.
"Well I could show you around the school later, if you want?" I asked as he agreed.
"Tomorrow would be great" He said looking at his watch.
"I gotta go, imma see yall around" we waved and he walked away. Me and Bink finished our meal with a small conversation to our 4th hour.
After School
I unlocked the door and stepped into my apartment as Bryan ran for the Xbox in the living room. I shook my head, placed my keys on the kitchen island and sat beside him as he played NBA 2K15. As I watched him play for a while, until my phone rang
"Hello?"
"Wassup, can I crash at yo crib, till the landlord get back in the mornin, I locked myself out" Raymon said. I said sure and hung up. I walked over to the door and had it opened it for Raymon. He walks in, gives me a hug and kiss my cheek and makes his way to the living room. He dapped Bryan and made his way to the kitchen until he stopped and looked at his phone smiling.
"Aww Trina be making you smile?" I said mentioning his "current" girlfriend, knowing he probably got more.
"Sometimes, but one of my old hoes need some good dick and weed, two things I always got" I shook my head. See what I mean.
"Did you cook?" Raymon asked leaning on the island.
"Nah what you want?" I asked leaning on the island next to him, he lucky am in a good mood.
"Lowkey want some cereal". He closed the refrigerator after looking inside.
"Imma have to go to the store" I said grabbing my keys. "You wanna go?"
"Yea" He walked towards me and grabbed my keys. I rolled my eyes and walked in the living room.
"Bink we finna go to the store, wanna come?" I asked him. He looked at his watch and turned the t.v off.
"Nah, I gotta help Nyla move out her house at 5 and its 4:30" I nodded and grabbed my purse. I locked my door when Bink came out and we all walked down the hallway to the parking lot.
"Make sure you say hi to your sister for me" I said before closing my car door.
At Wally World (Walmart)
"I don't like that cereal, I told you 4 boxes of Captain Crunch" (Captain Crunch is bae) I said to Raymon. He sighed and went back to the cereal aisle.
Since we shopping I might as well get more cereal . He came back and sat the cereal boxes in the cart.
"Why you need 4?" I grabbed some greens and put them in a bag.
"Cuh that's the only cereal I really eat and you know if I could I would eat it all day everyday" I responded. He shook his head.
We made our way to the checkout line and started handing our grocceries things to the cashier to ring up and bag.
"Maya?" I looked up to see Shaun, a senior football player at my school.
"You remember me?" He said, reminding me how we met. I nodded and smiled.
"How you been?" He shrugged his shoulders and smiled.
Bryan POV
We loaded the last boxes in the truck and I sat on Nyla steps and started to think about all the good times that happened at this house when moms was here. Nyla came and sat beside me.
"You miss her too?" I sighed and nodded my head.
"She not gon be here when my kids come , Nyla". I sniffle and turn my attention to her. she rubbed my back gently and didn't say anything.
I think I know why too, she probably don't know what to say. Her life was always perfect she had both of her parents before ma died. Good ass grades, didn't get in no trouble, same boyfriend since 9th grade, living happily with her family and husband. She always had it good. Me...I was bad asl in school, my father was always abusive and drunk when I visit him on the weekends since they split up. His ass dead now, fuck him. I got up from the steps and told Nyla I will call her when I get home.
Once I got home I took a quick shower and called My to see what her ass up to since its friday.
"Wassup Bestfran!" She laughed at how happy I was, I laughed a little myself. She didn't even have to say anything to make me happy.
"Nun texting Shaun?" Why the fuck she texting him, to be honest, I dont like his ass cuz how he be looking at My and they only met each other twice and she already having full text convos wit his young ass.
"Awe, Why?" She laughed as I asked "why" again. She said something about getting to know his personality. The nigga flirt wit every girl at school and she know this.
"Anyways, how did Nyla new house look like inside?" She asked, being nosy.
"I don't know, I aint stay for that long, what you tryna do today?"
"Nothing really this Atlanta weather beating my ass right now, but you could come over here and we could go skating?" I told her I was going then got off the phone with her and started walking down to her condo since she only live 2 doors down. She opened the door and let me in.
"Hol' on I gotta put my shoes on" I sat on her couch and waited till she got out her room.
"Where Raymon at?!" I yelled from the living room. She came in the living room and grabbed her purse and keys off the coffee table.
"He at Amina's, he said he would meet us there later, Shaun gon be there with his sister Leah, I suggest you chop" She said as she locked her door and walked out our building. I laughed as I sat in the passenger seat of her 2015 Audi A4. She stay getting spoiled.
"You funny, but I already got someone on my mind so you aint gotta worry about my love life, but thanks for caring"
"Ohhhhh tell me, what's her name, you know her number if you do invite her to come skating with us, aww you gon be falling in love-"
"Damn My am just playing I don't got nobody on my mind at the moment, wait why should I chop with Leah when am gonna be wit chu"
"You see Shaun wanted talk about some things with me so I asked her to come along cuz I didn't want you feeling like a 3rd wheel"
"So yall dating now? Petttyyy" She pulled into the Skating rink parking lot.
"Nah, but he said it was important and if anything happens you gon be there to stop it that dont mean cockblock tho".
"I won't maybe" I mumbled maybe and we walked inside, got our wristbands and skates then tried to find where they was sitting at. We found them near the back and walked up to them. Shaun hugged Maya like he her boyfriend or sumn. He need to back up. I rolled my eyes and sat across his sister at our little table. She had her head down so I couldn't see her face.
"You must be Bryan" She looked up and smiled. She had straight teeth, one dimple on her left cheek, her hair was a little past her shoulders and eyes of an angel. I nodded and smiled, this night finna be interesting.
