What we believe is the present moment that we are living right now, is, instead, in fact, the most immediate past on the arrow of time. This because there is the smallest possible bit of time when the information from our sense organs travels to the brain and is processed into experience.
In truth, time is not like an arrow, flying through the present, coming from the past, and going into the future. All time is now, not the 'now' we experience which has already happened by the time we are aware of it, but the very most immediate future we are on the verge of experiencing. Time is the singularity of all events that our minds organize as past, present, future. Singularity is the oneness of all things and non-things undifferentiated. A thing is an event.
Knowing this, time travel becomes possible. We are not capable of it, yet, in the physical sense, because our mind cannot break free from one of the fundamentals of experience: cause and effect. Another fundamental of experience is space. Physically, from our perspective, we are time travelling, on the arrow of time, through time.
Also knowing the mind is a shared phenomena. All time is at once. All space is here. Location is a single reference point plucked by a human mind from among countless, coincidental, once and for all physical being. To travel in time, we need go nowhere.
All events, meaning, all things from our human perspective that have happened and will happen, are actually in the, as yet mentally unorganized though just sensed, now, and still in Schrodinger's box (so to speak). Memory is the past and planning is the future, both aspects of the imagination. Memory occurs in the mind and we are convinced it is true, planning too occurs in the mind and we hope it will be.
Mind, what is mind? We can only imagine what it is. Humans sense it as something that is not physical but based on the physical. It is as far reaching as the material world. The moment an individual becomes aware for the first time of the mind is fascinating. The human mind is not able to understand what the mind is, but we do understand some of what it does. Consciousness. Not all living creatures know they are conscious but they are conscious when they are not unconscious (that's almost all we can say about it). They are conscious of themselves and the world they experience, whether they know it or not, and this is the basis of the survival instinct. Instinct guides all living creatures. Although, thought, imagination, reasoning, we take for granted to be specifically human.
We share the material world where we sense ourselves as individuals. We also share the mind where we sense ourselves as individuals in dreams, day or night, and we interact with one another. My mind, your mind, the dog's mind, all minds considered to be as separate as we believe our bodies to be are part of the same thing, like water is, whether experienced as a river, a lake, an ocean, or in a glass I drink from, or rain from the sky, steam from the soup, fog or cloud or ice or hurtling through space on a meteorite to arrive on a distant planet, etc; it's all water, that one thing.
