I sit by her side...anxious and afraid
I can't believe I let this happen....
I won't be able to forgive myself...
she got hurt because we didn't protect her...
i am so careless...
i just sit there and hold her hand, waiting for her to wake up.
I look at her and tears run down my face and onto our interlocked hands
i just sit there in guilt and sorrow
silently crying as i just sit here and watch my best friend in pain...
i stand up and let go of her hand, i scoot her over a little, and then i climb in beside her
i intertwine our hands once more,
i look over at her
kiss her cheek
her forehead
the back of her hand...
she's the girl i grew up with, the one i love being with...
the one that i want to continue to grow with...
she fills the emptiness that i didn't even know i had...
i stare at our intertwined hands...
back at her...
something just pulls me towards her...
i use my other hand to play with her hair...
her soft locks slip between my fingers...
she squirms around a little in her sleep,
then she cuddles up next to me...
pain but yet peace etched on her face...
i look down to her shoulder that she lied on...
wrapped up in bandages, bloody and battered...
i look closely at her wrist...
all bruised...
i take my arm and wrap it around her,
i pushed her hair behind her ear...
and i stare at her beautiful face...
i move closer...
closer...
closer...
the forehead...
the cheeks...

I look into the window into the room...
I heard about what happened to her...
I see him laying with her...
cuddled up together....
and then it happened...
he kissed her...
at that moment i dropped everything i got for her...
flowers...
teddybear...
gifts...
and i turn on my heels...
not even giving it a single thought about going back...
I can't help how i feel about her...
even though we just met...
i feel like its love at first sight...
i never really believed in those things...
but she changed that prospective for me...
she changed my vision on love...
from negative to positive...
she proved me wrong...
that love is still possible after heart break...
