Introduction
I have always been fascinated with Native American Tribes, especially the Cherokee, and after learning about the Trail of Tears, I have often wondered: Why did the Cherokee call this ordeal the “Trail Where We Cried”? What did they cry about? Who and what did they cry for? After a lot of research, I have tried to incorporate a little Cherokee culture and some of the reasons why the Cherokee cried. This is the story of Uwoduhi, a fifteen-year-old Cherokee girl who will share the pain of the Trail through Indian eyes.
