Breathe...just breathe.. Thinking this doesnt seem like it would be a hard task, but in reality its the most difficult task to ask yourself to do. Not bad. I think to myself as I put the finishing touches on my makeup, its simple but adds nicely to my black dress. I didn't want to be that noticeable since it was the first time ive gone to an event since the breakup...who are you kidding everyone will notice you... my annoying subconscious tells me, I look at the clock and see thats its a quarter past eight. Shit!
Im already going to be late, first night out and im going to be late, great way to show everyone you have it together Teegan. I quickly run my hands through my loosely curled brown hair and apply an extra layer of mascara onto my brown eyes. I grab my clutch and hurry into my living room, where one of my really good friends is waiting for me. "Alright Hunter im ready!" I tell him breathlessly, he cleaned up nicely his dirty blonde hair isnt a mess as usual, which is supprising considering he's always a mess. "Great, lets go." He offered me his elbow and leads me to his car. Hunter takes off his sunglasses as he gets into the car, his hazel eyes brighter than usual,
"Dont be nervous Teegan itll be fine" he rubs my knee for reassurance, I know hes just trying to help me calm down but its not working. Tonight is the first time you'll be in the same room as Louis since we've broken up, nothing can calm my nerves. Deap breaths Teegan deep breaths. This isnt helping either. As we start to get closer to the event, thats when i really start to freak out. "Ok maybe we shouldnt do this.." I try to make it a suggestion but it comes out more terrified. "Teegan, look at me" Hunter grabs my chin and forces me to look at him. Which by the way I do not appove of him touching me.
"Its going to be fine I promise nothing bad will happen ok?" I take this into consideration before i answer him. "O-ok I can do this." Thats such a lie but theres nothing I can do now since were already here. Hunter gets out of the car and walks over to open my door for me, "Oh such a gentleman!" I joke to him. "Shut up I can be a gentleman" he protests, "Ok whatever you say Hunter" Smiling I take is arm and walk into the building; damn its already packed knowing theres no point to complain because either way Hunter would make me stay, I look around and spot a couple of my friends from before. "Im going to go say hi ok?" Hunter just nods his head lets me go.
I walk over to a table and sit down, not really wanting to say hi to anyone, I really just want to be by myself. Of course thats not a possibility because apparently im really popular today. "Teegan! Is that you?!" Ugh more people. Im forced to talk to some famous lady that only knows who I am because of Louis, so annoying. "I have to go back to my date excuse me" I scan the room for Hunter and spot him in the back talking to someone, I walk over to him and see that hes talking to Ian Somerhalder. "Ian!!" I practically tackle him and squeeze him to death, "Hey! Long time no see Teegan" he smilies at me. I catch up with him for a while until he says he has to get back to his wife.
"So having fun?" Hunter questions"
"Define fun" We start to walk out into the garden, which is lovely "Well im having fun" he laughs. Good for you. I roll my eyes and nudge him, I suggest we go back inside before I freeze. "Ill be back i need to pee!" I turn away from him and go to look for a bathroom, I eventually find one and rush inside, not actually having to pee. I check my makeup and hair, Im very satisfied with how my appearance is tonight, its classy but not so classy to where its too serious. I walk out looking down at my phone to check for any new messages, while doing this I end up running into someone great... "sorry" i mutter a quick apology without looking at who I bumped into.
"Its quite alright darling" I've heard that voice before.. I look up to see a pair of big brown eyes looking down at me. "Oh my god! Liam!! Is that you!" I cringe knowing I just sounded like a fan instead of a friend. "Oh my god! Yes its me! Liam Payne!" He mocks me, I laugh along with him and ask how hes been, we talk for about twenty minutes and he says he has to leave, we quickly exchange numbers and walk away.
I go to find Hunter in the crowd, he doesnt seem to be there. He probably left you. My subconscious mocks, god she needs to shut up. I go sit back down at a table being unable to find Hunter, Someone taps on my shoulder. I look back up expecting to see Hunters hazel eyes looking down at me, but to find blue ones instead.
"Louis?" Shit. Just who I was avoiding...
