Hushed voices could be heard through my curtain, it was supposed to provide me with some privacy from the other girls while I slept, but I seemed to have my head stuck in the same thing all night, and that prevented me from sleeping.
I had been so caught up in the tour I forgot all about my birthday; I couldn't put it off for as long as I would like. I think the excitement of seeing my best friend and meeting most of my favorite performers had a large impact on that. I'm glad it did keep the thoughts of my birthday away because I know that I would be stressing out with everything, so in a way I'm happy.
I heard a loud giggle escape Eleanor's lips, living with her 18 years has helped me recognize it perfectly.
"Can a girl get some sleep?!" I asked out loud sitting up and pushing back the curtain only to have a cupcake right in front of my face.
"Happy birthday!" All the girls said before Jas pulled my hand and placed the cupcake into it. "Your favorite, cheesecake." I smiled before wiping a bit of the top off with my index finger, placing it in my mouth seconds later.
Cheesecake had been my favorite since I was 6, my mum and I went to a cake shop to try everything out for my grandfathers birthday. The many delicious flavors and scents had encased me, after twenty taste test I feel in love with the cheesecake, I somehow convinced my mum into buying one for my Grandpa's birthday and one spare just for the two of us.
"Thanks guys." I said wrapping my arms around their shoulders as I was still comfortable -and warm- in bed.
"No problem, oh, Cole came by an hour ago, he said when your finished getting ready to go to his bus. And wear a blindfold." Eleanor said after pinching a bit of my cupcake.
"Hurry up, because by the looks of things, he's getting impatient." Cher said, I shuffled down the bed and peaked around the wall that was placed to enclose my bunk. Through the window I could see Cole and Alex standing there having a thumb war.
"Very impatient..." I said, looking at the others, I quickly shrugged taking a large bite out of my cupcake. I jumped off the bed and zipped open my suitcase which was now placed on the ground because Jas decided to take one of the extra beds.
"Tell them half an hour." I ran into the small bathroom, I closed the lid of the toilet and placed my clean clothes on top and placed my towel on the hook and getting undressed.
Pushing my hair into a quick ponytail I jumped into the shower. I turned the nozzle, cold water spraying out and spraying my bare body.
"Cold!" I squealed jerking to the side so the water wouldn't touch me. I watched as the water started to have steam float off of it before stepping under the hot shower.
After a quick ten minute shower (I'm used to them being an hour long) I tugged on my clothes.
I stared at my outfit again. The jeans hugged my body well and the sweater suited it and didn't make me feel uncomfortable.
I walked out of the bathroom and dropped my towel on my bed taking out my hair, having it cascade down my shoulders.
Pulling on my shoes with the tune of raise your glass by P!nk stuck in my head, I tied the final loop on my Jeffrey Campbell lita boots. I picked myself up and ran out the door.
Five minutes late, lets pray they don't mind. My shoes clicked and clacked against the hard pavement as I walked towards their bus, I pulled out a sleeping mask and pulled it on my head, wearing it like a headband. I knocked on the door and pulled it down to cover my eyes.
"Who is it?" I heard Max grumble as footsteps padded around on the bus. "The tooth fairy, open up, it's freezing out here!" I said while rubbing my arms to keep them warm.
"Are you wearing a blindfold?" I sighed before responding with a simple yes.
I hate surprises, my family and friends know this, I have made it clear to them about this since I was 9 and got a surprise for Eleanor.
I had planned on giving her a pet rabbit for Easter, but I forgot to feed it so it was in my closet for about a week, on Easter morning, I was very surprised, lets leave it at that.
"Ah signora Calder so nice of you to join us." Alex said grabbing my hand and helping me up the stairs, trying to prevent me from tripping and fracturing my skull which I'm almost positive would have happened if he wasn't there.
I'm very clumsy.
I entered the bus, whispers and hushed voices dimming out. The warmth and presence of Alex disappeared as I was left standing on my own.
I waved my arms around trying to feel for someone, so I wouldn't loose my balance and fall, but that was a bad idea as I stumbled forward.
The pain I was expecting to feel when I hit the ground never came. I was helped up by two muscular arms that had prevented my fall. Pulling the sleeping mask off my eyes I met the gorgeous brown orbs of Zayn.
"Th-thanks" I said before the chorus of 'happy birthdays' from the others snapped me out of my trance.
"Thanks guys" I said pulling out of Zany's grip and hugging everyone that was on the bus.
"Now, why didn't you tell us today was your birthday? We had to torture it out of Max." Louis asked. I turned to Max who was rubbing his neck nervously as Alex and Cole glared daggers at him.
"To be honest, I forgot all about my birthday, I was so caught up in tour and meeting all of you guys I completely forgot." I said shrugging as if it was nothing.
"Is that Black Forest cake?" I asked looking at the large cake on the dining table. "Yeah, they wouldn't give us cheesecake." I smiled, Cheesecake may have been my favorite but Black Forest was a close second.
"No cake, until you all shoo!" Alex said moving his arms the way you would to shoo a bird. "Uh... Alex?" Olly said looking at him oddly. I shrugged into my shoulders, trying to hide my face.
"This was our special plans and Max ruined it, you said happy birthday, now it's old friend time." He said pressing the button to open the bus doors.
"Listen, you may be ugly but that's no reason to call yourself old." Julia joked. Laughs bubbled out of the others mouths at her remark.
"Funny, but today is Kota's birthday and she said that she didn't want to make a big deal about it, so unless your name starts with a K, A or C, because Max is a sell out," Alex glared at Max as he said that.
"You can't make any decisions, so, out!" He said pointing out the door. Silly boy.
Everyone grumbled as they walked out of the bus, all but Cher. "You two missy." Alex said his arm still pointing out the door.
"My name begins city C, so I get to stay." She said sitting down at the booth and grabbing a plastic fork.
"Let her stay, please? I want at least one girl since you kicked my sister and best friend out." I said, Alex sighed before closing the bus door.
"Great! Lets eat." I said sliding in next to Cher, Cole on my other side.
"I'm stuffed." I said pushing my third piece of half eaten cake away. "How can you eat that much and stay so skinny?" Cher asked staring at me in disbelief.
"Eleanor and I have a workout routine." I said shrugging as I slid out after Cole. I stumbled forward and gripped one of the cabinet doors making it open as I feel forward, chocolates and other sweets all falling out.
"Where did these all come from?" I asked turning to the boys while crossing my arms. Still having bad balance from the bus moving. Their bus driver -Jason- had come back.
It took us some convincing of Dan, Paul and Steven -Cher's bodyguard- to leave us be. It worked and their hanging out in the other boys' bus.
"We were going to share with you honest!" Max said scooping as much as he could up and putting it in the cupboard, leaving two out and handing one to Cher and I.
"Don't blab, as far as the others are concerned that cupboard is full of medical supplies." Cole said eating a mars bar that he grabbed.
"What happens when someone needs medical supplies then? They're going to cover it in chocolate?" Cher said opening her bar of chocolate.
"Chocolate makes everything better!" Max said with enthusiasm.
"Don't worry loves, your friends won't be hurt, all bus drivers have a medical box under their seat." Jason said after overhearing our conversation.
"Just as well, you aren't taking any of ours, having me in that bus." I said shaking my head.
"You don't trust yourself do you?" Cher asked after coming out of the games room, three games held in her right hand and a drink in the other.
"Nope." I said popping the 'p' "I've been to hospital 7 times in two months, I've been injured that many times. I blame my terrible balance and loving high heels too much." I said shaking my head in fake pity.
"Well, then how are you a dancer?" She asked placing the games on the table neatly.
"I don't know... I guess I'm moving around too much to realize that I'm clumsy." I shrugged before looking at her game selections.
"I call crash bandicoot!" I said grabbing the first game I saw and running into the games room quickly putting the game in the console.
This is my all time favorite game, for as long as I can remember, I play it every time I'm sick. I have every game.
"Lets do this!" I said when the loading screen came up. The others huddled into the room and sat on the many sofas and chairs.
"Cher, be careful. This girl has allot of skill in this game." Cole warned. With great knowledge too, nobody has ever beaten me in this game.
Bring it on.
