Sitting beneath this maple tree
I bask in the sunlit face of my friend
She with lips as red as blood
Though for me they're of Aphrodite's
Mine, I imagine, are of Ares'
Because with her new hairdo
Part of me says, "she'd say no"
Partly because she makes me read
"Having a Coke with You"
A thousand times without feeling bored
Mostly because I have borrowed a little
From that author because of her
But it partly doesn't matter anymore
Now that I heard her say my name;
As sweet as the morning sun
