Hayley's POV:
"So when is this chick going to come?" Zac asked as he came into the living room with a beer in hand.
"Tonight I believe." I responded without even looking up at him. I was too busy writing down some lyrics that have come to me in my sleep. If that is at all possible.
"Yeah." Jeremy said as he took a sip from his beer. "She'll be sharing a room with you Hayley. Right?"
I smiled and looked up at him. "Yeah I guess so."
Josh wrapped an arm around me. "If that bothers you, maybe you and I could share a room instead."
I giggled and pushed him off. "Not goanna happen Farro." He frowned. "Especially if it means putting this poor girl in a room with one of you pigs."
"Hey!" Jeremy said in fake hurt. "I'm offended."
I shook my head and uncrossed my legs. I placed my notebook on the coffee table and went to the kitchen.
"Get me a beer." Josh called.
I exhaled. "Sure thing honey."
I open the fridge and took one out of the box. I grabbed a water bottle for me and went back into the living room.
I handed the beer to him and he took it. Not bothering to even saying thank you. Which that would have bothered me, except that I just stop caring about the little things.
"You're not drinking with us?" Jeremy noted as I positioned myself back on the couch opposite of him.
"Nah." I smiled.
And my attention went back to writing lyrics.
Coming up with new songs for a sophomore album wasn't and isn't going to be easy. We have a few songs already demoed, it's just a matter of starting to record.
I talked to Adam about it and he gave us until Friday to come up with at least one more demo before he lets us into the studio.
The guys complained. Josh especially.
I was just grateful to be doing what I love.
"hey." I spoke up. "Don't you guys think we should be working on a song instead of watching movies?"
Zac turned to me and laughed, sarcastically.
"Don't worry about it Hayles." Josh said. "We'll come up with something."
I just frowned and sunk into the couch.
It was Saturday night and we only have six days to come with something.
But apparently that was enough time.
I sure didn't think so. A song needs to have time to be perfected.
"Yeah," Jeremy spoke up. "I think it is time we work on something Hayles." I looked up at him with a smile on my face.
"Really?" He nodded.
"Yeah. As soon as this movie is over, I'll help you."
"oh." I let my head down in disappointment.
Maybe they didn't care as much as I did. Maybe I cared too much. Maybe I just really wanted to put my heart into making music.
I felt my eyes sting.
"Excuse me." I got off the couch and power walked into my room.
Hoping that a little nap would do me some good.
**
"Hayley." I hear a knock on my bedroom door.
Startled, I open my eyes wide and look over at my phone.
It was close to 10pm now which meant that I had slept for a little over five hours.
That is the most sleep I have gotten since we got to New York.
"Yeah?" I call back.
The door swings open and Jeremy shows up.
"Hey." He smiles.
"What's up?" I let out a yawn as I rub my eyes.
"Adam and that Taylor chick are coming up now."
I nod and get off the bed slowly. "Coming." I said as he nodded and disappeared again into the length of the hall way.
I stretch my hands over head and find enough energy to go welcome my new roommate.
Beginning my walk back to the living room. I hear a knock on the front door
Excitedly, I run to get the door.
I open it and welcome Adam in.
But what I saw next left me dead in my tracks.
A boy...
A tall, slim, yet muscular boy stood behind him.
"He...Hey." I said as Adam walked in.
"Hayley." He ruffled my orange hair and walked in fully.
The boy looked up from his phone and gave me a smile.
A smile that made my insides melt.
"Hey." His voice was low and raspy.
It was like a sweet music to my ears.
I felt myself slightly blush.
"I'm Taylor." He extended his hand out to me.
"I. I'm..."
"This is Hayley." Adam said behind me.
I cleared my throat and nodded. "Yeah. That's me. Hayley. Hayley Williams."
He nodded. "Cool."
I leaned my head on the front door and just stared at him up and down.
I don't know why, but something about him just made my legs slightly tremble.
"Are you going to let me in or...?" He rose his eyebrow slightly.
"Oh yeah" I moved out of the way "please come in."
He nodded and slowly walked in.
I couldn't help but look at him up and down as he walked past me.
His cologne left a lingering smell and I sure wouldn't mind it all over my body.
Hayley, what the fuck...
"So Taylor." Adam placed his arm over Taylor's arm, "This is the band. This is Jeremy, Josh, and Zac." The guys all shook hands. "And you obviously met Hayley."
He nodded. "Yeah the girl with the fire colored hair."
I couldn't help but slightly blush.
Adam chuckled. "Yeah our little fire engine."
Somehow I found myself still standing against the opened door.
"Hayley." Josh called me and broke me from my stance.
"Yeah." I said as I cleared my throat.
"Come here baby." I nodded and shut the door behind me.
I went over and sat inbetween the guys.
The room felt silent and I just kept my eyes glued to Taylor.
"I'm sorry man," Jeremy spoke up. "When they said we were getting someone to come and 'help us out' we all assumed you were a girl."
Taylor looked up and shook his head. "I can assure you, I am no girl." His smirk was directed at me.
I shut my lips tighter to fight back the smile.
Josh didn't sit too well with that. He instantly threw his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him.
"He'll be sharing the room with you Jeremy." Adam spoke up.
Jeremy nodded. "Yeah that's good with me."
Taylor nodded. "Which is that exactly."
Jeremy stood. "Follow me man."
Taylor got off the couch and followed Jeremy down the hall.
"Alright guys," Adam said checking his phone, "It's getting late. I have to get going."
We nodded.
"You all be nice to Taylor okay? Make him feel welcomed."
"We got him man. No worries." Zac said.
I just rolled my eyes and smiled at Adam as he left out the front door.
Taylor and Jeremy emerged from the hall.
"So Taylor, what's your story?"
Josh asked as he said took a swig from his already open beer.
Taylor sat slowly on the couch and sighed deeply.
"I have a lot of stories. Which one are you asking for specifically?"
Jeremy chuckled. "Want a beer?"
Taylor nodded as he rubbed his neck. "Yeah I'll take one."
Jeremy nodded and threw him a beer can.
"Thanks." He said as he took a long sip.
"Why are you here?" Josh asked.
"Ah." Taylor stayed quiet for a few second as he let his thoughts consume him. "Long story short, I was making some not so good decisions in my life. My dad just got fed up and decided to teach me some 'responsibilities.' Whatever that means." He took another sip from his beer. "Said something along the lines of 'growing up.' But I think he got pissed because he found me in bed with the next door neighbor."
"Nice." Zac commented.
I just rolled my eyes and scoffed.
Taylor turned to me and smiled.
"Yeah man, she is nice."
"Fucken men I swear." I got off the couch. "Can't you guys think with something other than your penis?"
Taylor nodded. "Sure, but where's the fun in that?"
Great...
One more boy to deal with.
