Trapped Teen

The cool air flows over her body; she lies on her bed. The cool sheets beneath her hot, sweaty skin comfort her slightly. She lays her head on one simple cotton pillow, her long brown hair flowing over it and around her. Her bedroom window is slightly opened allowing the cool Spring air into her stuffy room. She was alone, all alone as usual. She always felt trapped within these walls although the door was unlocked. She felt she was always being watched although she never seen eyes around her.

She felt alone, trapped within her room, within her home. She felt trapped within her own body, within her own skin. No one knew, no one understood. No one knew how many times she thought about cutting open her skin to free herself from her binds, from her torture. No one understood her tortured mind. No one understood how many times she stood at the kitchen sink and thought about taking that knife and placing it across her hand and wrist...

No one knew how many times she looked at the shower rod and thought, "would that hold me long enough to break my neck?" Yet she was too young, so much to live for?!? No one noticed the fake laughter, the fake smile. No one noticed the quick grin that faded so quickly when no was looking. She was trapped inside her nightmare fairy tale child/teen-hood. She never did believed in fairy tales. No one had seen the sadness, the rage that begun to boil beneath the surface. No one noticed the teenage girl trapped within the nightmare fairy tale teen-hood. No one noticed the trapped teenage girl who grew up not believing in fairy tales...
