The Stray kids dorm never a place to be quiet was once again filled with chatters and excited murmurs from the boys as Minho and Jisung finally came out, telling the others their in a relationship for almost six months already. Seungmin, who was just coming downstairs intrigued by the noise walked in the living room, confused.
"Whats with all the noise? Did I miss something?", he asked curiously. Waiting for an answer which he got from a very excited Felix. "Minnie! Minnie! You wont believe it! Minho and Jisung just told us their a couple!! Isnt that exciting?!" Said the freckled boy with shining eyes. Seungmins expression fell as he glanced at Minho, his heart breaking quietly, but he played it cool, smiling even though it didnt reached his eyes.
"Oh. Thats... thats amazing. Congratulations!" The brown haired boy said, walking away as no one looked in his direction anymore. He stopped shortly in the doorframe looking at the three couples: Hyunjin and Jeongin - Happy as ever. Changbin and Felix - two softies found each other. And now. Now also Minho and Jisung - two soulmates who found each other. Leaving him and their leader, Chan the only single ones.
Seungmin left.
Unable to see the person he loved happy with someone else. And the worst part? Seungmin saw it coming. He saw how Minho looked at Jisung through the years, while never the same way at him. Sure him and Minho are close, but it could never reach the closeness he shared with Jisung. But he had hope. Hope that maybe Leeknow would be his not Jisungs. But what can he do now? Minho and Jisung are so in love thats it wrtten all over their faces. Its not a secret to everyone, not even the fans.
Leaving the dorm quietly to clear his head. To be alone. To realize the love he held for his Hyung, his first love will never be real. It was just an imagining in his mind, to have Minho to himself.
Now you see, while Seungmin was struggling with his heartbreak, there was one person among all the couples who was so painfully in love with the puppy like boy. Everyone saw, everyone KNEW. Just not Seungmin himself, and that specific boy was none other than Chan. And seeing that expression of pain flash through Seungmins eyes for just a second made his own heart ache. Chan wasnt in the same situation as Seungmin, no, but he felt the pain the younger boy felt and it was killing him to see Seungmin like that.
But what can he do? Go after him and confess his feeling right after the boys heart got broken? No. No, that wasnt an option at all, Chan would wait. Wait unil the brown haired boy get over his heartbreak and than, than he would try his luck. After all, Chan knew how much Seungmin was crushing on Minho, and everything else apart from waiting felt so so wrong.
But life goes on no matter what pain or cruelty you went through. Over promotions, recordings and dance practice late in the night was no other time to sulk or cry over a broken heart. Seungmin knew, though he kept his distance from Minho and when he needed help with a step he asked Hyunjin or Felix instead, sometimes even Chan. And Chan, god Chan got all nervous and blushy that the others had to hold back their giggles, but no one pointed it out or teased him for it.
Days, weeks and months passed in which Seungmin found himself oddly clingy onto Chan, realizing how hardworking the eldest of them all were. How much Chan actually adores him, the small acts of comfort he started to seek from his Hyung, but he never questioned his own actions. his own need for his Hyung. All the while Minho, Changbin, Hyunjin, Jisung, Felix and Jeongin just watched with knowing smiles. And when they both left to get snacks and some soft drinks for the whole group, Minho gathered the other five boys in a small circle immediately having their attention.
"We all seeing that right?" He started, grinning so stupidly, but the boys nodded eagerly. "I have an idea, probably." He said thoughtfully, making the others even more buzzing in anticipation. "Well, tell us already, Hyung!" Changbin said, all of them leaning in closer. "Alright. I was thinking about sending them to a beach house, the... the reason a photohoot near a sea. We just have to inform the staff and hope they gonna help us." He muttered, still thinking this through while saying it. "It should be a few days.. for the pohotoshoot. So they REALLY spent time there without us around. Im gonna talk to the staff, i mean a photoshoot is on our schedules anyway, so why not sending us in couples to do so?" He questioned out loud, making Hyunjin and Felix eyes lit up in exciment, looking at their boyfriends.
"That is the best idea I ever heard from you, Hyung." Teased Jeongin with a grin. Well, mastermind Leeknow has good ideas if he wanted too. It boosted his ego making everyone laugh,but there wasnt more information they could share, because the pratice room door opened again and the lovebirds came back.
A little more time passed, the new comeback was legendary for them. Many wins on their songs, a tour in Korea until their schedule's slowed down a bit. And finally, FINALLY the day of the planned photoshoot came. After Minho talked to their staff, especially the female staffs who were swooning by the genius idea immediately started to plan it. Making the shoots for each couple ready, while the other male staff just laugh and shook their heads, but they were just as thrilled. On the last day though, they all gather on the beach together to celebrate everything.
Waking up at 7 am to get ready, Chan and Seungmin woke up to an already empty dorm, the other three couples left earlier to give them some more time together. Eating a quick and healthy breakfast, gather all their stuff, a black company van stopped by the dorm to pick both up, driving to the beach house they had no idea about. Ahem.. even their manager was informed and played along. When they arrived, Chan immediately looked for the manager who had a smooth lie ready.
"Hyung! Why.. why are we split up? I thought its a group photoshoot? What happened?" Chan asked confused, the Manager looked at the leader and spoke. "Ah yes. We checked the location yesterday again and everything was ready, but today I got the call the spot is taking for a wedding. So we split you guys up. You and Seungmin are gonna stay here for a bit. We planned a bigger shoot like this if we have you all in seperated places for once." The blonde haired boy didnt question it, because it made sense. So the genius plan was going to start.
The first shoot started, they got dressed and styled in matching outfits, ahem.. totally not planned. Posing like couples on the porch of the beach house, holding hands while walking along the sea in the warm sand, chasing each other with big grins and smiles and much more, inbetween they had to change their outfits a few times until the crew called it a day and the boys could change and settle down in the beach house. The manager long since gone to inform the other that the plan was working.
The next day it was a shooting in the pool the beach house had. Chan in the pool gazing fondly at Seungmin while the brown haired boy laid on a sun chair with sunglasses on unaware of the look. The next photo, Seungmin sitting on the edge of the pool, feet in the water and Chan picked him up pulling him in the pool too, so he wouldnt be alone. The best part. None of it was decided by the staff, at least the shoot after the one with the fond gazing. They created the photos by themselves, completely obvious to what they were NATURALLY doing.
And then came the last day. Sunset shoot. These were probably the most personal once and everyone on set knew. The looks they exchanged, the gentle touches. But it gave the most beautiful shoots the photographer was payed for to make. When it was over, about 30 minutes later the other couples joined and they indeed took a few more group shoots with all the couples and one soon to be.
The equipment was partly already cleaned away and a big buffet and drinks got placed. Now it was time to celebrate the couple shoots, the wins and the comeback that went well despite everything. With the all the celebrating, the music and the good mood in the air, no one noticed when Chan and a slightly tipsy Seungmin moved away and sat by the sea, watching the sun set fully.
"Beautiful.. isn it..?" Seungmin slurred slightly, gazing at the sky. Chan on the other hand was looking at Seungmin and murmured a low and soft: "Yes.. very beautiful." Silence settled over them for a bit before Seungmin spoke again. "You kno.. i loved Minho.. but.. s not like dat no more. Cuz, my heart b'longs to s'meon' els'.. S you.. yea.. i said it.. Seungmin lov's you.." He slurred again, his head coming to rest on Chans shoulder who was shocked at the sudden confession, but his heart fluttered in the best way possible. With a smile he wrapped an arm around the puppy like boy and pulled him closer.
Behind them, Minho high fived with the others. His plan worked better than he thought. Thanks to everyone helping. By tomorrow there might be four couples in the dorm from now on.
