~Sophie's P.O.V.~
Looking at my Father, makes me sad, nervous, and excited all at the same time.
"It's going to be alright, Honey." He tells me, squeezing my shaking hand.
His green eyes sparkle with tears, and I smile. "I hope so, Dad."
He pushes one of the curls away from my face, and kisses my cheek. "You're so grown up. I'm going to miss my little girl."
I feel my bottom lip quiver, and I give him a hug, not caring if I winkle the dress or not. If Julia were here, she would be yelling at me, but she's not, so I'm good.
"I'll always be your little girl."
I hear the organ starts up, and my heart starts racing.
Dad pulls away from me, and inhales a shaky breath. "It's time."
Out of nowhere, Julia runs in and throws a bouquet of flowers in my arms. "Are we all ready? Do we all look fabulous? I think we do, let's get this show on the road!"
I laugh at her, and she flashes her pearly whites at me. "I can't wait for Gabe to ask me to marry him."
Yes, that's right. Julia and Gabe are dating. they have been for five years now, and Julia is getting anxious to get married
How she puts up with him, I'll never know.
Julia stands in front of me in her position of the bridesmaid, Dad loops his arm through mine, and we stand there and wait for our cue.
When it's time for Dad and I to start walking, everything in my mind goes blank, and it feels like I'm not in my body. It feels like I'm watching all of this take place.
The first thing that I see is, Matt and Layla's little five year old girl, Destiny, holding her little flower girl basket. She's adorable, sweet, and I completely love her. She's definitely taken after her Mommy. But, she can have an attitude.. That she took after her Daddy.
Gabe is the next one who catches my attention. He's standing there making faces at me like an idiot. I almost start laughing, but I know that if I do that, people will think that I am nuts.
Gabe hasn't changed in the last year whatsoever. He's still the biggest clown that I've ever seen, and he's still my best friend. The sad thing is though, I don't see him that often. We go to different colleges, so I only see him on the weekends.
How many times have I called him crying, missing him like crazy, I don't know.
The next one who I look at next, is the most important one of all.
Zack, in all of his tuxedo glory, is standing there, right in front of the alter, staring at me with the biggest smile ever.
My heart skips a beat, and I smile back at him.
I see his eyes slowly move up my body, and I have to fight myself to not roll my eyes.
He's been begging me to see my dress for months now, but I wouldn't let him.
'It's supposed to be a surprise.' I would tell him.
'But, I'm not good with surprises.' He would whine back.
He can be a big baby sometimes.
When we finally get there, after it feeling like forever, the preacher smiles at us. "Who here is giving this young lady away?"
My Dad looks at me, and smiles. "I am." He kisses my cheek, lets go of me, and then sits down in his seat.
I move in front of Zack, and he takes my hands, and winks at me.
Of course, I blush.
"We are gathered together here today, on this happy joyous occasion, to join Zachary Timothy Daniel, and Sophia Abigail Green in holy matrimony."
I smile at Zack, and he mouths the words, 'I love you' to me, and I mouth back 'I love you more.'.
"-The commitment to love one another. This commitment symbolizes the intimate sharing of two lives and still enhances the individuality of each of you." The preacher smiles at each of us. "We need the rings."
Julia hands me, Zack's, and Gabe hands Zack's mine.
I hold my hand out-my shaking hand-, and he slides the ring on slowly, while staring directly into my eyes.
I smile at him.
I really do love him, and I want to spend the rest of my life with him.
Zack holds his hand out, and I slide his ring on.
"Do you, Zachary Timothy Daniel, take Sophia Abigail Green, to be your lawfully wedded wife? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health, remaining faithful to her as long as you both shall live?"
He smiles a big ol' grin at me, and nods his head. "You bet I do."
I laugh quietly, and so do some of the congregation.
"Do you, Sophia Abigail Green, take Zachary Timothy Daniel, to be your lawfully wedded Husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him in sickness and in health, remaining faithful to him as long as you both shall live?"
I feel the excitement grow in me, and I quickly say, "I do."
The preacher smiles, and shifts on his feet. They probably hurt, because he's been standing on them all day.
"Then by the power invested in me. I now pronounce you Husband and Wife."
Zack smirks, because this is what he's been waiting for, for a few years.
He's been wanting to marry me for a while now.. But, I said no, because I wanted to wait, and see if we really could make it.
Last December, I finally accepted, because I knew that he was definitely the one. There wasn't going to be anyone else.
"You may kiss the Bride."
Zack grabs my side, and presses his lips against mine, hard, and I let out a little moan of surprise into his mouth.
I hear everyone clapping, and whooping at us, and then I hear Gabe yelling for us to get a room, and my cheeks turn red.
We break the kiss, and I shake my head at Gabe.
He can be really distracting.
Zack and I turn to face the crowd, and everyone quiets down. "I now introduce, Mr. And, Mrs. Daniel!"
Everyone rises to their feet, and claps, and Zack even starts whooping.
Then all of a sudden, Zack turns towards me, and starts walking towards me.
I raise my eyebrows, and let out a scream whenever he picks me up bridal style.
"Finally!" He yells, happily. "You're mine."
I laugh, and place my hand on his chest.
Only my Husband.
I love that sound. Husband, Husband, Husband.
"And you're mine." I tell him, smirking.
He smiles, and his eyes soften. "I love you, Mrs. Daniel."
I place my hand on his cheek, and smile back. "I love you too, Mr. Daniel."
He bends his head down, and kisses me softly. A very different kiss than how he kissed me earlier.
Yup. I'm going to love this new life.
And this all started, because I was a little nerd.
How weird can life be?
Just remember that no matter what you are, a nerd, a geek, a popular person, or even if you're invisible, we're all the same, and life can change in two seconds.
So hope, and pray that it will become for the better. Expect the un-expected. Believe in love, and believe in God. But, most importantly...
Don't be a jerk... Or someone will come along, and try to ruin your life.
