"Don't touch me...you're fake. A figment of my imagination. My mom is dead and that is never going to change..."
Her words stung like a hornet's sting. Her words started to spread like a wildfire.
"I'm just going to...." I make my way towards the door wondering what kind of mess I've created.
"Rose?"
"Bobby. I was sent to stop the future. Undo the curse, finally be free but, I don't think I can do it. Thing is, if I don't help her then....what I saw in that vision will come true. Life will end. There will be no new beginnings no new endings. Just ending of beginnings."
At this Bobby is holding me tight. It's been what? 20+ years and he has grown and changed so much. He was they 17-year-old boy who had a difficult life at home, a young guy who didn't know exactly what he thought of himself. The guy with a soft charm that never disappeared even after my wedding and the kids. He had to be strong by himself. To lose your best friends then your first love. I respect that.
"Rose on all my time on earth, there has nothing been crazier than the last year. When you were alive you were the most sweet and gorgeous lady I knew. Obviously, you were way over my league, yet I still got to know you. You are a fighter. You love and despise seeing people get hurt. So if you think you can't save the future; your daughter, I want you to prove yourself wrong. You are doing this. One way, or another..."
"Thank you, Bobby... thank you..."
"You still know it's Trevor, right?" He says giving a smirk and an eye roll.
"Yea yea whatever! But this Trevor will never be the same as Bobby and I'm glad that you've accepted that."
"Well, it's a good change of my past! But now we need to focus on saving the future."
We head back in the house. Julie is on the couch sprawled up in a ball shaking. I make my way up to her. She is whimpering, mumbling nothings under her breath.
"Julie I-" I hold her shoulder. Well I try to anyways but her body flickers and turns into a bright roaring purple flame.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!"
"Julie. I know this is hard. I know that I'm dead and that I'm not meant to be here but, we need you to get your memory back. With your memory we can undo the second cursed future."
She turns to face me, her eyes the same color as the girl in the vision. I try to shake the faint scream that rings around me. This is my daughter. What I saw was just a vision. I can help her. Save her.
"Julie, look me in the eye and tell me you remember..."
"But I don't..."
"Well today is the day you do."
She looks up to me her eyes meeting mine. I felt the room crumble as I stared into my daughters eyes. I only just realized how much she grew. Not just physically but as a person as well.
"Julie..."
"Mom?...."
"I'm going to sing you a song I have never showed anyone before expect you when you were still a little baby. This should help help your memory."
She gives me a small smile fear and confusion gone from her face. I head over the the piano brushing my hands against the keys. It's been so long since I've played. Even before I died I didn't played it for around 2 years. As my skin meets the cold stone keys a pulse of freedom comes rushing through me. I feel. Alive.
"This song is called wising on a star. You're my star jules...."
How does it feel being called one of a kind
Seeing the people below you thrive
Well its because of your glorious light
And the wishes that are made all the time
When I feel low
You lift me up
When I am empty
You fill my cup
I dream under the moon
Cause you're the one i wish too
You're a diamond up above
Too precious to refuse
Wishing on a star
Waiting to explode
Illuminating the skies
Too bright to deny
Wishing on a star
You shine so bright
Your rays of light fly across the sky
You're a shooting star
My hope in the night
My desire in the sky...
Please don't regret
The beauty that's inside of you that many neglect
Oh you reflect
The wish of you in my heart I can't forget
I repeated the chorus once more letting the music rush over my body; my soul. As I played the final note a massive purple cloud engulfed the room. Its wind pushed me around violently in the air as everything spun out of control.
"JULES!", I screamed scrambling to get to her.
"It's no use," Bobby I mean Trevor yelled back. "This I what I saw. What I experienced all those years ago! It's a vision. The cursed future!"
"NO!"
"YOU HAVE TO LET GO ROSE!"
"NO SHE'S MY DAUGHTER! I CAN'T! SHE LOST ME ONCE SHE'S NOT LOSING ME A SECOND TIME!"
We are getting sucked deeper and deeper into the purple clouds of dust and everything slowly fades away...
