This is the poem for when my uncle passed away. We weren't close, but I still held onto the childhood memories and so instead of being really sad, I wrote this.
You can grieve for the person that's moved on,
Or you can accept the life they've lived and go on.
Sorry and sad show that you care,
But it's different from celebrating the life you shared.
Love is a passion, a rhythm, a dance,
But what's left in that place when they're not there?
A hole all too big,
And just as hollowed as can be.
A place only they can fill,
A part of you,
That has died to.
Your hollow and empty,
With a one person entry.
Never to be given away,
But to not be as big one day.
So love when you have them,
And grieve when you loose them.
Absence is like a train ride,
With a one way ticket.
