Your POV:
Finally its was our game. I was on the bench but ready to go in at any time. Morgan was back in the lineup and we were all very happy about that. On the bench I sat with Alex and Crystal.
The game was underway and we watched our team once again play Japan.
"I thought it was the final for a minute." Crystal laughed. "We always play Japan in final."
"I know. It's weird." I added.
"Who would we face in the final?" Alex asked.
Alyssa leaned over. "Either Germany or France." She answered
"They're playing each other again?" Lori joined in. "Wow."
Halftime came around and we were up 3-0.
2 goals from Carli.
1 from Christen.
We came out for the 2nd half. "Let's get you 2 in." Jill said pointing to me and Crystal.
I went in for Christen and Crystal went in for Carli. Carli gave me the captains armband and I ran over and put it on Julie.
"You know she wanted to you wear it right?" Julie laughed.
"You know I wanted you to wear it right?" I said running away.
Ally's POV:
I was with my family.
"Y/N getting stepping on the field for the first time since their round of 16 match."
I smiled.
"Yeah she's back! Look at that look." They showed her. "So much focus in this kid it's amazing."
The game went on and we watched the US shut down Japan. Y/N assisted Crystal's goal in the 78th minute and the US was up 4-0.
"Julie Johnston will send the ball up field to Heath." The commentator said. "Heath passes to Brian. Dunn and L/N now in the box."
We watched the play unfold. "Brian with the cross! Dunn heads it to L/N who kicks it! GOAL! Y/N L/N with the 5th goal!"
Y/N took off running. My family started clapping and screaming. "Her 7th goal of the World Cup!"
The ref blew the whistle and the US bench ran onto the field. Hope ran to midfield from her goal. Y/N shook hands with the Japan team before celebrating with her team.
"Later tonight we will be covering todays World Cup highlights! Also we'll have Y/N L/N in the studio to talk about her tournament so far."
Your POV:
"WE'RE GOING TO THE FINAL!!!!!" Kling screamed on the bus. "AGAIN!"
We laughed. "For some of you its again. For us its the first." Kristie said pointing to me, her, Crystal, and Sam.
"It doesn't matter who was here in 15 and who wasn't." Carli said. "We were still a team then."
"Let's get that fourth say." Whitney smirked.
I went to the studio to do an interview.
"We have Y/N L/N here today. She has 7 goals so far this tournament and is looking to increase that number in the final on Sunday." She walked out. "Thanks for coming out."
"Thanks for having me."
"You my friend are having one great tournament." He said. All the other people laugh. "Heather you played for the US how do you feel about this kid?"
"Well she's great. I watched you play on the U-17 team and now you're here." Heather said. "Amazing. So proud of you."
Y/N just smiled. "That beats the 7 goals." She laughed. "Having Heather Mitts saying she's proud of you? Come on now."
"7 goals. 3 assists. What's next?"
"The championship." I said seriously.
Everyone smiled. "That was the answer I was looking for."
The interview ended and I joined the team. We had a meeting. "We are going to the final! Tomorrow we will learn our opponent. It's either Germany or the host country France." Jill said. "But we've made it to the final once again. I'm proud of this group sitting in front of me. We've have a tough road but we made it."
"Let's do it for Syd." Alex said.
"Yeah." Christen nodded. "For Syd."
"For Syd on 3?" Kelley said. We laughed and got together.
We chanted for Syd and continued to celebrate.
Hope sat next to me. "You know I got your back right?" She said.
"After everything you've done for me." I smiled. "I know you do. I got yours too."
She laughed. "You better."
"I thought you were Hope "I don't need no bitches" Solo!"
"Even the toughest people need someone. You needed us."
"I'm not tough though." I said drinking my water.
"You're still here standing. You're pretty tough to me." She said getting up and walking away.
Ashlyn walked over with Ali. "It's not over." I said.
"What?" Ali asked.
"Jake. It's not over." I said. "For now it's paused but he's not gonna give up."
"What makes you say that?"
"He knows I told someone." I looked at Ash. "He'll kill me." I said.
"Yeah I'd like to see him get passed Kling." Ashlyn joked.
"Not just Kling." Ali started. "Incase you're forgetting Y/N, 4 of your teammates are nicknamed "the brick wall." and "the department of defense." okay." She laughed. "He's not getting passed us."
"And if they do." Ashlyn said. "You've got her." She pointed to Hope. "The best goalkeeper in the world. She'll protect you. So will I, and Alyssa and the rest of the team. He won't touch you ever again as long as we're around." She said hugging me.
Kelley and Tobin walked over. "Hugs! Hugs! Hugs!" Kelley said. We all laughed. Ashlyn filled them in.
"If he hurts you she'll take care of it." Tobin pointed to Kling who was doing ninja moves.
We laughed. "I believe it."
