Reena returned to her room, feeling groggy and gross. She had just thrown up for the third time today.
Concerned, Fatima ma walked in, a group of maids fluttering close behind her. She immediately ran to Reena's side, helping her in bed as she put a warm hand to her forehead, checking her temperature.
Reena, who was too tired to resist, just let the lady do her thing. She then grabbed Reena's wrists, checking her pulse when suddenly she looked up, a shocked yet happy expression on her face.
Reena stared at Fatimah maa with a confused expression on her face. All Fatimah maa could do was smile at Reena hoping she would get the hint. Until it hit Reena.
Her hand unconsciously travelled to her belly. Reena looked down, she couldn't believe it. She was pregnant.
A laugh slipped out, light and breathless, as she cradled her stomach, eyes shining with unshed tears.
The thought of Rocky sent a rush of warmth through her. She could already picture his face when she told him—how his eyes would widen, how that slow, bright smile would take over.

She ignored the comments telling her to be careful as she rushed down and into a jeep, driving to the mines where Rocky was.
Reena arrived to the mines, her hands trembling with excitement by her side. She and Rocky had talked about this very moment countless of times and the fact that it was finally happening sent a rush of nerves through her.
She finally arrived and practically leaped out the car, running to where Rocky was. She rolled her eyes internally as she could already hear him complaining about something to Chacha.
Rocky abruptly stopped his conversation with Chacha when he faintly heard the sound of Reena's anklets.
He turned around to see her standing there trying to catch her breath. Rocky frowned to himself. Reena didn't make a usual appearance in the mines and especially not this early. Something was definitely up.
"Enayitu?" asked Rocky, his face displaying worry. Reena bit her lip, trying to think of a blatant excuse as to why she rushed here so early in the morning.
(What happened?)
"Nange mayusharila" said Reena. Rocky took of his glasses, exchanging a worrying look at Chacha before rushing over to her, cupping her face tenderly between his hands. His touch was soft and gentle as he checked her temperature.
(I'm not feeling well)
"Ilai, yenu illa. Thalai keskobida, doctor manekelsthini" Rocky said, patting her cheek lightly and turned to walk away but she stopped him again, her face suddenly flustered, leaving Rocky confused.
(Nothing is wrong dont worry, ill send a doctor home now go)
"Enu tinbiga ana ansthila" Reena wined as Rocky looked at Reena wondering what exactly was cooking up in her head.
(I don't feel like eating anything)
Rocky let out a short laugh, shaking his head in disbelief. Reena was never this picky. Now he knew something was really wrong.
"Yaru en bita? Seriya gadige madakilli. Nalayil inthu enu problem illa" he turned to Chacha who just nodded as they turned around and continued to walk.
(Who is that cook? Tell him to cook properly. There should not be any problem tomorrow)
"Fatimah maa joruge nadibartho andithare" Rocky turned around again. The confusion on his face being more visible than ever.
(Fatimah ma advised me not to walk briskly)
"Seri, oru nak thina aramaginedi" Rocky said, trying to dismiss her and carry on with his conversation but Reena was persistent as ever.
(Fine take it easy for some days)
"Nan hunsenu mavenka thinbeku an ansthide" Reena said desperately, trying to get her idiot husband to understand but he seemed to be in a more stupid mood today then usual.
(I feel like eating something sour and tangy)
Rocky let out a big sigh as he turned to face Reena who looked for nervous than ever before. He slightly chuckled which made Reena even more nervous.
"Mara maraane kalirsbeth, thinu anthe. Yenagide ninge, eh bah Chacha" Rocky finished with a light hearted chuckle, completely unaware of the storm of emotions brewing inside Reena.
(Ill get you an entire market at home, eat all you want. What's wrong with you? hey come Chacha)
Reena scoffed to herself, almost slapping her own forehead at her husbands stupidity and before she could stop herself, the next set of words tumbled effortlessly from her lips.
"Amma baruttidare"
(Mother is coming)
Rocky paused, his chest rising and falling. He didn't know if what he was hearing was true but confirmed it after he saw everyone staring back at Reena in shock. Rocky slowly turned, his eyes lined with unshed tears.
Neither of them spoke but their eyes spoke volumes. Reena's hand travelled to her stomach as she smiled at Rocky. She slowly nodded giving him the approval he was waiting for. It was the best thing to ever happen to him.
He was going to be a dad. His Chinna was pregnant with his baby. They were finally going to get the family they always wanted.
Rocky felt his chest rumble with delight and happiness and he didn't wait a second before running up to Reena and embracing her in his arms, kissing the top of her head.
"I love you so much" Rocky whispered, his voice muffled as he buried his head in her hair.
Reena smiled, her hold on him tightening. "I love you too" she whispered but was cut short as a loud bang echoed.
A stretch of silence followed as Reena moved back slowly, her eyes widening as she let out a gut wrenching scream that shook the ground.
All she could see was red, bright bold red and..............

" AHHHHH-" Reena shot up in bed, her breath ragged, her body trembling. Sweat clung to her skin, her hands clutching the sheets in a desperate grip.
It was a dream, more like a nightmare.
That rendition of her life didn't exist, the happiness nor the sadness. It was all a figment of her imagination. She let out a sigh of relief and ran a hand over her face, shocked when she realised she had been crying.
The nightmare still gripped her mind—Rocky, standing in front of her, his arms outstretched as if to shield her. The gunshot. The way he fell. The blood.
Her heart pounded in her chest as she took a deep breath, trying to control her nerves but they only spiked when she turned to her side, only to discover her husband missing.
"Oh god" Reena mumbled, scrambling out of bed and downstairs, searching around like a mad women for him.
Her face was still stained with fresh tears as Fatima ma stopped her, her face etched with concern. "Reena, beti what's wrong, why are you crying?" she asked, handing Reena a glass of water.
Reena chugged the water down, wiping the sheen of sweat off her forehead. "Is Rocky here? I need Rocky" she mumbled, her bottom lip trembling and Fatima ma gave her a weak smile.
"Rocky has gone for some business in Bangalore, he should be back in a little while" she said and didn't push her for further details.
Reena frowned, walking back upstairs and decided to freshen up. Every time she closed her eyes, she was haunted by the image of his body on the floor, the way his hand instinctively went to cover her stomach, their baby as the gunshots fired. The pool of blood that splattered around him.
She gasped, trying to push away the images, as she washed her face. Just as she finished getting ready, she heard his car pull into the driveway and she ran downstairs.
Rocky, still tense from the whole incident at the police station, walked in grim. His aura eluded anger, fury, rage.
The houseworkers simply lowered their heads, as Rocky threw the file on the sofa, about to make his way upstairs when a body crashed into his, arms wrapping tightly around his torso.
Rocky stumbled back a little, gaining his balance as his arms wrapped around Reena's, her warmth melting away his anger.
"Enayitu" asked Rocky concerned when he felt his shirt getting wet with her tears. His grip on her tightened as he soothingly rubbed her back, trying to get her to stop crying.
(What happened?)
"Yenu illa" said Reena in a whisper. After her dream this morning all she wanted was to be in Rocky's arms. Now she knew, he was alive and he was safe.
(Nothing)
"Hey Enayitu?" Rocky asked, his voice softening. He was truly concerned now. He never wanted his wife to cry and he never wanted to be the reason for her tears either.
(Hey what happened?)
"Nan ondu ketkanspithu athirali ninne" Reena started but couldn't finish her sentence as a sob escaped her lips. Rocky couldn't help but let out an estranged sigh, gently pulling her away to look into her eyes.
(I had one bad dream, in that you)
"Naane onth ketkanspithu, nanage Enayitu" Rocky teased in his typical flirty tone in attempt to cheer her up, but that attempt failed as Reena threw herself into his arms again, this time tighter as if she was afraid he would disappear if she let go.
(I'm a bad dream myself, what will happen to me)
"I missed you so much" she said as she snuggled into his toned chest. "Naanu yello bidabeda" Rocky had a sad smile on his face as he pulled her closer into his arms, kissing the top of her head.
(Dont ever leave me)
Something about Reena's words made him uneasy. He knew the uncertainty of his life given his job.
But it was times like this where he truly realised how much this affects Reena. I mean if a single dream had her this railed up, he couldn't even begin to imagine what would happen to her if something bad happened to himself.
She snuggled closer into his chest and kissed his heart which was exposed due to the first two buttons of his shirt being undone. "I'm never gonna leave you okay, now you tell me, what should i do to show you that?" Rocky asked and Reena pulled herself back, sniffling lightly.
Rocky gently wiped away her tears and cupped her cheeks. Reena shrugged her shoulders and Rocky smirked, like a lightbulb had switched on in his head.
Without a word, he picked up Reena, throwing her over his shoulder. Reena squealed, surprised as her face burned red.
"Rocky what are you doing?" Reena hushed as Rocky carried her up to their room. They got to their room and Rocky placed her down on the bed.
"Showing you how I'm never going to leave you" Rocky said, climbing over her, his face inching closer to hers. Reena stammered, her body getting hot and flustered.
"How?" she managed to say and he smirked, pushing a strand of hair away from her face before leaning down right by her ear.
"It requires a few thing. 2 people, one bed, no clothes..." Reena playfully slapped his arm, rolling her eyes.
Rocky let out a deep chuckle, the noise vibrating in the room as Reena scoffed. "Your getting more and more shameless as the days go on Rocky boy" Reena said and Rocky nodded, getting to his feet.
He started walking away and Reena frowned. "If you dont want it then say so" he repeated the words she once said and Reena rolled her eyes, shaking her head in disbelief as Rocky walked over to the door.
Just as he grabbed the handle, Reena stepped in, holding his arm. "I never said i didn't want it" and without wasting a second Rocky leaned in, savouring her lips in a hot and searing kiss.
Reena's arms went to wrap around his neck as her legs latched around his torso, Rocky picking her up effortlessly.
The door slammed shut behind then as they spent the rest of the evening busy in bed.............
