A/N don't be too upset with me 😔 don't give up on the happy ending ❤️
Vivian ran to the back with Siobhan and tried to continue caring for her. Renee, the nurse that did Siobhan's follow up scans, was the charge nurse tonight and was delegating the tasks. They were hooking Siobhan up to all the machines. All the beeping brought Vivian out of her bubble with Siobhan. As soon as she was hooked up, the beeping became more aggressive. Siobhan was coding. She was dying.
No... this can't be happening. Siobhan you have to be okay. I don't know what I would do... I can't believe he did this to you. Please... please... open your eyes... please just give my hand a squeeze...
As Renee looks at Vivian, she sees the pain and emotion, she can almost feel it. She softly grabs Vivian by the shoulders and speaks calmly, "Vivian, you have to leave the room and trust us to take care of her. You are too close to this. You can't be objective. You have to go." Vivian immediately furrows her brows as she balls her fist. "No! I'm not leaving her! I can help!" Time seems to slow down...
I know she is right, but I can help! I need to be with her...
Renee turns to a few of the nurses assisting and gives them a nod. They try to talk Vivian out of the room but she isn't having it! She tries to fight out of their grasps. Her need to be with Siobhan is debilitating. Jumping, kicking, arms flailing, but ultimately she stops resisting and collapses to her knees right outside the door. Right outside the room where her friends are trying to save the love of her life.
It feels like my insides are being ripped apart. I can't breathe... I've never... felt... anything like this.
While Vivian struggled outside the hospital room, several miles away, the fight with Roger continued.
Roger's body is visibly shaking, face red and screaming at the four. Now they all know that he has been abusing Siobhan and this was the worst beating ever. He knew that he could go down for attempted murder— even murder if Siobhan doesn't make it. His reputation would be ruined and he couldn't allow that.
Mia, doing what she does best, began to get further and further under Roger's skin. She stormed back into the house and made her way to the security tapes. Mia had a way of finding things out people to use it against them. Roger ran after Mia and jerked her back by her arm. Reece and Autumn immediately charged after their father to defend Mia. He had to give up his hold on Mia to fend off the two enraged friends. She retrieved the tapes and ran out the door to her mustang and sped off.
The siblings exited the house meeting Winter at the car and left. Charlotte had sent everyone a text letting them know that they went to the hospital, so thats their destination. Once they arrived at the hospital, they found it weird that Mia hadn't arrived yet. After all she did leave before them. They brushed it off as her maybe hiding the tapes before meeting everyone at the hospital. They never would have guessed what had actually happened.
After the siblings left, Roger called in a favor to his cartel buddies. "Bennie, it's Roger. I have a little problem. That red headed bitch stole my security tapes and is going to try to get me arrested. I need you to take care of it." All he heard on the other end was, "done."
Mia decided to take a shorter route to the hospital, which was a different route than Reece. She had no idea that Roger had a tracker planted in her vehicle. All of a sudden, she is rammed by a huge truck directly in her door— crunch. The Mustang flipped. Five times. The engine whined, piercing the air. The rumbling was violent, drowning out everything else. She heard a whoosh as the car landed upside down and slid through the meadow. Drifting in and out of consciousness, the burning rubber nearly choked her.
What the hell?! Ow! I can't breathe...
Roger's cartel guys approached the car to grab the tapes. Becoming more alert, Mia felt like her chest was in a vice. Her breathing became rapid as her heart raced. The taste of blood flooding her mouth.
My chest... its... so tight... oh no... who... damn the cartel. How did they find me?
Mia tried to fight them off as she hung upside down, but it was useless. She had dealt with them many times before with her past with Roger.
Not the tapes... its our best chance!
Her vision faded as she swung her arms at them. Quickly the men took off with all the evidence leaving a severely injured Mia to die.
A few minutes later Mia heard echo like voices and could feel hands around her. She panicked not knowing that passersby called an ambulance. They rushed her into the ambulance and took off to the hospital— the same hospital Siobhan was taken.
Meanwhile at the hospital Reece and Autumn's anxiety grew regarding the red head. There is no way it should be taking this long. Reece began to call Mia, but there was no answer. Mia always had her phone in her pocket or in her bra— it was unlike her to not answer. Reece, Autumn and Winter had moved away from the group to keep them from realizing their concern about Mia.
Mia, where the hell are you?! I'm getting really nervous. I was her boyfriend for 20 years and she has always answered her phone— or called right back.
Thirty minutes and about ten calls later, Autumn and Winter told Reece that he needed to let the rest of the group know.
As I approach Reece I think: This could be serious! What if father was able to get to her somehow? Has he called threatening her?
In the waiting room, Charlotte sat next to Marjorie as tears were trailing down both their cheeks. They had processed the gravity of the situation tonight and were trying to cope. The strangers near them talking loudly. Hospital phones ringing constantly. They held hands with only a few words shared between them.
Reece walks up to Charlotte and Marjorie with his shoulders slumped scratching the back of his head nervously. Voices from others in the waiting room fade as Marjorie shoots up to her feet, "Reece, what's wrong?!" He lets out a sharp sigh, "Mia hasn't arrived yet and we can't get a hold of her. She left before we did. She got passed Roger and grabbed the security tapes for evidence. We thought she might have..." Before Reece finished his statement, Charlotte ran out closer to the emergency room entrance and calling her love. As she called, she heard a familiar ringtone.
Now I can relax! I hear her ringtone, but where is she? I can't still can't see h.....
As Charlotte is thinking hopeful thoughts that Mia arrived, she realized that the tone was coming from behind the double doors. When some nurses exited through those doors, she heard it. It faded as the door closed. Her grip on her phone loosened as her and the phone dropped to the floor.
