We were in distance of the house and I just ditched the bike where I was. Chris was already limp and what mattered was getting her to the house.

I was taking her to Kaira's house. She was medically trained and would be able to help.

Kaira was on the porch of her house. It looked like she was smoking and once she caught sight of me she put out her cigarette and ran to me.

"Dean what happen- This is...Chris?" she asked skeptically. "Dean explain."

She ordered me to her house and told me to go to the basement. She owned one of the few houses that had a basement. She laid out a crisp white cloth on a metal frame of a table.

"I'm not sure what exactly happened," I said as I placed her on top of the table. There were medical supplies everywhere and Kaira was already cutting off her shirt and examining the wound. She put on surgical gloves and rolled Chris over on her non-injured side. "She was shot. I know that much."

"This isn't good," she said. "It looks like the bullet hit an artery. It's a miracle she hasn't bled out yet." She took a knife and cut around the would to try to get the bullet out. "Call her mother. Check what blood she is."

I took out my phone ready to dial a number but... I had no clue.

"I don't know her mother's number," I said shakily. Damn it. If she died because I couldn't call-

"Then call someone with her," Kaira said. "Isn't Sam still at her house? Call him!" The bullet she picked out fell onto the table. "Shit," she murmured, "Oh no. Dean get over here!"

She pressed another cloth to her side.

"That bullet was in an artery. She needs  blood now." She handed me a needle. "We don't have time. Stick this into one of you veins." The needle was attached to  a plastic tube which had another needle at the end. "You're an alpha and type O so you can donate blood to her."

Kaira's words were so thick. She wanted me to do this to save a girl who  I had no relations with. She was a rogue. The lowest of the low. She wasn't even accepted to the pack yet and Kaira wanted me to save her. I was reconsidering my actions. I was hesitating too long and Kaira had been screaming my name several times now.

"Dean! Listen to me." She pinched my face with her thumb and forefinger. "She will die. Do you hear me? D-I-E! Die! As in ending a life and never coming back." Her grey eyes bore into mine. "She has a family, Dean. They will be devastated if she's gone. Think about what you are doing! It isn't just about the Alpha."

Her face was so close to mine and her demeanor so serious. Just below us was a dying girl and it was my choice whether she lived or died.

"Uh-"

There was a loud crash and a body fell down the stairs to her basement. They fell on all fours and had a phone in their hand.

"Dean, are you okay?" Sam said as he regained his  balance on the banister. "I've been calling you! What the hell?"

I snatched myself away  from Kaira's grip.

"I'm fine," I reassured him, "I'm just...going to..um donate...some blood?"

"What?!" Sam shrieked. I swear he sounded like a child who had just been refused a trip the ice cream parlor. "That is dangerous as all FUCK! Are you out of your fucking mind? Kaira! Why aren't you stopping him?!"

"It's his choice to make," she said, "but this girl will die if we wait any longer."

He gritted his teeth. "She is a rogue! She could possibly have a worse death. If you let her die here, her family wont have to worry about her anymore. She wont be a burden any-"

Kaira shut him up by smashing her palm against his face.  She hit him hard enough that his head snapped the side and an imprint of her palm was left sting red on his cheek. Her eyes had turned bright blue and the anger was visible in her eye.

"Do you have no sympathy for this child?" she screamed, "She is the same as any other one of us. Don't you thinking people will be sad if she's dead? If Dean doesn't save her, her blood won't just be on his hand. They'll be on yours, too because you are too fucking ignorant to see that not everything is about 'Alpha this! Alpha that!'" She slammed her hands down on the metal frame. It rattled and Chris's finger twitched. "Open you eyes," her voice dropped. "I know Hannah didn't raise you this way." Sam refused to look at her. "You don't hate this girl and you don't want her dead. I know you want to save her just as much as we do."

Sam clenched his fist so tightly that blood began to seep from his palms.

"Sam, calm down," I said. I reached a hand towards him to put on his shoulder but Kaira grabbed me.

"Dean," she warned, "don't. Just sit down so we can draw blood." She sat me down in a chair that had belts on the legs, arms, and head. "Let him cool down. He's holding back so that he doesn't lash out at us."

She tightened the belt around my calves and fore arms. She spoke to me soothingly and then wrapped the final belt around my forehead. "Just relax," she said, "This is to hold you if something goes wrong."

Kaira pulled out a needle and stuck it in the vein of my arm. At the end of the tube was another needle she was going to put in Chris but she stopped.

"What's wrong?" I asked. There was blood already halfway through the tube.

She shook her head and said, "Nothing." She was grabbing belts that were conviennity attached to the table. "I'll secure her too so that if she thrashes, she doesn't hurt herself."

If she...thrashes? "What is my blood going to do to her?" I asked my voice shaking too much for my own good. Why was I so afraid?

She pierced the needle to her skin. I watched as the blood from my arm flowed dark red to her pale arm. The blood went into her body and I saw as her veins darken up her arm then recede to its normal color.

At first I was relieved then Chris's fingers began to twitch. They curled around the metal frame and her head rolled to the side. Beads of sweat formed at the corners of her forehead and her face contorted into a pained grimaced.

Sam looked on at her tentatively, curious about her face.

I tried looking at her too but it was hard especially with the leather belt over my forehead. Kaira looked on at us too, wondering how the blood transfusion will go. She felt Chris's forehead and told us, "She's getting warm."

Sam had sometime taken a seat and was glaring at me.

"What?" I asked him annoyed.

"You brought this yourself," he told me, "If something happens I blame you. You shouldn't be here."

I was going to say something that would put him in his place but I didn't. Sam was always worried about everyone else and never thought about himself once. If there was nothing wrong with him, he wouldn't say anything. He would sit there and suffer until someone noticed too late.

"It's healing," Kaira said in astonishment, "Your blood really works wonders." She turned to me. "Do you feel alright?"

I tried nodding. "A little hot but I'm good."

She put a hand on my forehead then on Chris's.  I could feel my body temperature slowly rise. My blood was heating up and my vision was getting hazy. It was like I was drunk.

But definitely not the good kind of drunk.

I closed my eyes. It felt like if I stared any longer I would vomit. My muscles began to tense and it was like my lungs weren't expanding properly.

"Breathe," Sam said carefully, "You need to focus on letting air into your lungs. Nothing else. If you don't you'll lose."

I wasn't sure what he meant but that's what I did. I started getting lightheaded even if she was just getting a little blood from me. It was probably a pint. Maybe a little less.

"Dean, how do you feel?" she asked as she pulled the needle out of me.

"High," I told her straight out.

She put a small band aid on my arm and placed her hand on mine.

"You feel that way, Dean," she began, "because you just gave her a liter and a half of your blood."

She looked worried and more wondered than anything else. And then just like that...

My vision went red.
