Percy ran in the direction of the scream. He ran from tunnel to tunnel, ignoring or maybe just not noticing all of the mosters in his path. The first mini army of monsters, Percy didnt even look up. The only thing in the world was that scream. He kept running, Never bothering to pause for breath, no longer noticing the sweat running down his forehead.
After running through multiple tunnels, dodging more mosters than he thought already extinct, he found himself in a small, dark cave.
The good news: He found Annabeth.
The bad news: He also found Arachne, with what looked like a couple million spiders at her side.
There were to many spiders to fight. They both knew that.
As soon Annabeth saw him she almost screamed in relief, but she was still to petrified to move. He pointed Riptide at the giant spider.
"If you so much as lay a web at Annabeth, I'll..." His sentence was interrupted by the cackling of electricity coming off his girlfriend. She quickly developed an aura of cackling elecricity and steam, a ring of owls developing around her with Percy suddenl noticing her hair braided with olive vines. Annabeth's eyes turned extra thunderstorm dark as she said in a brave voice magnified by 100.
"I AM A DAUGHTER OF ATHENA, THE GODDESS OF WAR AND WISDOM, I MAKE MY ENEMIES TREMBLE. I HOLD VICTORY IN THE PALM OF MY HAND, AND I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED BY THE LIKES OF YOU!"
At the last word, ahe threw a spat cackling with energy at Arachne. Th monster before her and all of her spiders exploded in a firework of dust.
Wow, Percy thought. The blessing of Athena; he had never witnessed one before, and for a moment, he was to stunned to speak.
"Come on Seaweed Brain," Annabeth said. "Let's get out of here."
