Normal P.O.V
Gems and Juvia stood there in pain, under the rain. Gems was taking short breathes. He could feel Gray and his heart beats too.
“All the pain you just felt, Gray feels it too.” Meledy spoke with a wicked smile on her face.
“What!?” Gems frowned as he fought through the pain. “You're using my body to hurt Gray!? How dare you!? ” He asked as felt the same anger as before. The thought of Gray getting hurt because of him was making Gems go insane.
“Wind Drill!” Gems flew towards Meledy as wind engulfed him again. He went straight for Meledy as he tackled her again, this time making her go through an entire trunk of the tree. Meledy trembled with fear as she faced Gems.
“Impossible! How is your magic power still increasing!?” Meledy gasped as she stood up. She was wounded too. “I didn't know you were this strong. His feelings for Gray is giving him strength!” she added while wincing in pain.
“Wind Slicer!” Gems launched another attack but this time Meledy was able to dodge.
“I'll show you the power of my feelings too!” Meledy spoke in spite. “Quadruple-Spread Sensory Link!” Meledy used her magic at Gems who was flying towards her to attack her. A pink beam shot out and now connected Gems to Meledy.
Juvia could feel Meledy too.
“Point Blank Wind Blast!” Gems approached her and launched her attack in a close radar. Meledy's eyes widened as she felt that hit her. She was sent crashing due to the explosion.
Suddenly Gems's wrist, where that magic band was started to glow pink. The very next second, he felt an intense static shock. The pain was now four times due to four people being connected.
Juvia fell to her knees as she felt the pain as well.
Gems fell on the water while wincing in pain. His body had taken a lot of damage. Gems could feel the pain that Gray was feeling and that was making him sick.
“Water Nebula!” Juvia launched her attack, she met the same fate as Gems's. They all were writhing in pain. Gems had tears running down his face as he thought of Gray. “G-Gray...” Gems cried as his enchantix faded away.
“For Ultear's sake...” Meledy mumbled as she stood up. “...I'll gladly give my life.” she added. “All thanks to you, I've connected to my target. All four of us are now linked through our senses. So now if one of us dies, all of us will die... Gray will die too.” She spoke as she walked towards Gems.
Juvia sat there defeated. She was too beat to help Gems fight.
“N-no...” Gems mumbled as he had tears running down his cheeks.
“This is the dead end to Gray's life!” Meledy yelled. “Now that Gray and I connected, there's no need for me to fight you!” Meledy spoke as she summoned two blades, near her throat.
“Stop! No!” Gems yelled as he stood up.
“I do not fear death!” Meledy replied with anger.
“Gray... I'm so sorry... Wind Blast!” Gems let his intrusive thoughts take over and chanelled his magic on his own thigh. Gems winced in pain and fell in the water again. Juvia yelled in pain as well.
Meledy felt the pain as she fell too, while her blades disappeared.
“Why are you still resisting!?” Meledy yelled at Gems while trying to get up.
“Because I love him!” Gems yelled back as more tears escaped his eyes.
“Death is the only option for all of us now.” Meledy as she was ready to use her magic again. Gems was running out of magic. He didn't know if he had any magic left to use anymore spells. “I will kill Gray for Ultear's sake!” Meledy spoke with anger as another blade appeared over her.
Gems was a crying mess as he limped towards Meledy, inorder to stop her.
Little did Meledy know, after getting connected to her enemies, she was able to open up her feelings to them and because of that Gems could feel what Meledy felt.
Gems felt the hatred for Gray, and love for a certain someone. The way Gems loved Gray was the same love Meledy felt for Ultear. Gems was able to feel Meledy's pain and her sorrow.
Juvia, with her last ounce of energy left, destroyed the sword above Meledy as Gems hugged Meledy. Meledy was in shock, she had tears running down her cheeks too.
“You have someone dear to you too...” Gems mumbled as he broke the hug and looked at Meledy. “Live for her...” Gems said as he had fresh warm tears running down his face. Meledy could feel Gems's emotions and she picked up the genuineness in him.
“I want to live too... For the person that I love...” Gems mumbled. “And the feelings that I have for him, you have those for someone else, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't kill for Gray... You did same for Ultear... You and I are the same...” Gems cried infront of Meledy.
“If you have love... You have to live...” Gems mumbled, Meledy stood their speechless.
Meledy's eyes started to water and she hugged Gems. She had a change of heart, thanks to Gems. They both cried as they fell to their knees. The sensory links on their wrists had disappeared now. Gems. wasn't able to feel anyone now.
‘Gray...’ Gems thought.
“I can't fight you...” Meledy as she pushed Gems away.
“Gray...” Gems mumbled as more tears made their way out. The battle between Meledy and Gems ended, in no contest. Both of them forfeit.
Gems was about to stand up and go search for Gray, but suddenly he fell again and had no strength in him. He was feeling as if his magic power was sucked out of him. ‘What's happening....?’ as he fell into the water.
Juvia was feeling the same, but she got flown away by the water.
Meledy sighed and pulled Gems out of the water, and pulled him to a safer ground, with the last ounce of energy that was left in her. “What did you do to me!? Why am I helping you!?” Meledy sighed as Gems didn't even have any energy to speak.
She pulled Gems and herself under a shade, where they wouldn't get wet due to the rain. Meledy just hugged her own knees while thinking about the advice that Gems gave her.
All Gems could do was stare at the sky, which was blurry to him. He heard a woman approaching, and by Meledy's words, it was Ultear. She had brought the body of Zeref with her.
‘Gray...’ Gems thought.
“We're leaving this island.” Gems heard Ultear.
“But what about Gray...?” Meledy asked.
“He's not an enemy... He's a pawn. I can't believe he fell for the story I made up! What a joke!” Ultear laughed. Gems's heartbeats were increasing.
Ultear talked about using Gray as an distraction so that they escspe Hades. And make Zeref their own property. They were about to leave until Ultear's eyes fell on the fallen fairy, Gems D'Cruz.
“Gems D'Cruz...” Ultear mumbled as she walked and stood over Gems. “...I know about your and Gray's little secret.” Ultear smirked, while Gems didn't even have strength to speak, all he could was watch.
Gems's heartbeats increased and eyes started to water as he saw Ultear summon a sword while looking at him. ‘Is this the end?’ Gems thought as he tried to get up but couldn't.
“Ultear!? What are you doing!?” Meledy gasped.
“I'm going to kill him, obviously!” Ultear answered while letting out a giggle. Gems feared for his life.
‘All I ever wanted to live happily... Maybe I can meet my parents in after life...’ Gems thought as he closed his eyes, as a tear slipped out and rolled down his cheek, while his life flashed in front of his eyes.
“But he's unconscious! He's not our enemy!” Meledy spoke in shock in the hopes of stopping Ultear.
“Be quiet. I won't leave Gray even a speck of future.” Ultear spoke as she swung her sword backwards and was ready to strike Gems down. “Even if he survives on this island, he still won't have any future with Gems.” Ultear laughed.
‘I'll wait for Gray in the afterlife...’ Gems thought as more tears escaped.
“Ultear! No!” Meledy gasped as Ultear swung her sword in Gems's direction. But it got blocked, when her sword got stuck into ice before it can reach Gems. Ultear's eyes widened.
Gray came running towards them and used his magic to save Gems. He slided there and grabbed Gems, holding Gems close to him, as they both reached out harms way.
Meledy sighed in relief.
When Gems opened his eyes he saw Gray.
More tears escaped his eyes as his lips quivered.
“G-Gray...” Gems mumbled as he saw Gray was safe.
“Gemsie... What happened to you?? Where's Laki?! I'm sorry I couldn't come to help you in time.” Gray said as he looked at Gems's wounded body and torn clothes. “But now that I'm here... I won't let anyone lay a finger on you!” Gray declared the last part while looking at Ultear and tightened his grip on Gems.
“This was unexpected! When did you figure me out!?” Ultear asked.
“I never believed a word you said from the very start... And I promised Gems to never use that spell ever again. Living the rest my life with Gems is the path I walk!” Gray responded to her.
That brought a smile on Gems's face.
While Gray was holding him, Gems would listen to Gray's heart beats and that's what calmed him down. That's what brought peace to him and he was feeling like his energy was getting back.
“That makes me want to kill the both of you in the cruelest way possible!” Ultear said with pure malice.
“Bring it on, you depraved daughter!” Gray challenged. He removed his shirt and wrapped it around Gems, since his clothes were torn. Meledy saw that gesture and couldn't help but smile.
Gray placed Gems unded a tree while Ultear was monologuing. Gray exchanged looks with Gems and nodded before running towards Ultear.
“You're absolutely no match for m-” Ultear was speaking but Gray reached her and punched her hard in the face, sending her crashing.
“This was for hurting Gems!” Gray said. The anger on his face was visible. Gems rested his back against a tree there. ‘I feel safe now...’ Gems thought as he looked at Gray.
Ultear commanded Meledy to leave with Zeref and reach the escape point, and Meledy made a run for it. Gems was out of magic and Gray had a bigger task to handle so they let her go.
The battle between Ultear and Gray begun. Gems recognized the magic which Ultear used. It was the same magic that Zalty used at the Galuna island, that's when Gems realized that they were the same person.
“Ice Make: Lance!” Gray launched his attack directly at Ultear.
“Time Arc: Evaporation!” Ultear just used her magic and evaporated Gray's ice by sending it to the future.
Gems tried to get up and muster up strength in order to help Gray, but he was in a lot of pain. Especially in the leg, where he used his own attack on himself to try and stop Meledy.
Gray kept on attacking Ultear, but all his attacks were nullified, they went to an open area while fighting. It was difficult for Gems to walk, but he managed somehow.
“Ice Make: Hammer!” Gray launched another attacked but Ultear evaporated it again.
“Flash Forward!” Ultear launched those orbs at Gray and unfortunately he wasn't able to dodge. Gems gritted his teeth in anger as he watched the battle unfold. Gray crashed into a rock, and Gems immediately ran towards him, helping him get up.
Every time his foot hit the ground while running, he would wince in pain.
“Gray... Are you okay?” Gems as he helped Gray stand up.
“You simply can't defeat me using ice!” Ultear laughed.
“Trust me... I am going to defeat you with the magic Ul taught me!” Gray said.
“Gray!”
Gems gasped when Gray put a cut on the side of torso and absorb the blood into his ice. Gray immediately covered his cut with ice, stopping anymore blood flow. His ice was red now.
Gray ran towards Ultear and the latter wasn't able to evaporate ice this time, since it had Gray's blood in it. “Ice Blade: Seven Strike Dance!” Seven strikes and Ultear was down.
“Ice Make: Rose Garden!” Ultear got up and used ice magic now. Gray was shocked to see the same spell that Ul used and cost him as he got hit.
“Gray!! Let me help you!” Gems said as he limped towards Gray, but Gray mentioned him to stay back. Ultear launched the same attack again, but Gray dodged this time and tackled her down.
They both rolled down the cliff and crashed into the ocean.
“Gray! Noooo!” Gems yelled in fear and ran as fast as he could towards the cliff. As he saw down, there was no movement in the water at all. “Gray!!!!” Gems yelled by cupping his mouth. “Gray! Where are you!?? Gray???” Gems shouted as loudly as he could.
But there was no answer. His eyes had started to water. “Gray... No...” he mumbled. He saw a path way to go downwards and immediately made his way, not caring about the excruciating pain in his thigh.
As soon as Gems reached on the ground surface, he was ready to jump in the water and search for Gray, even though he didn't know how to swim. That was his love for Gray. But before he could, a spear of ice launched out of the ocean and Ultear was stuck in it.
“Gray...you did it...” Gems mumbled as he saw Gray swimming up. “Gray!!” he immediately called him out.
The ice spear broke and Ultear fell in the water. Gray dragged her and himself out of the water and Gems helped him pull out of the ocean.
“Gray... You scared me! Thank god you're safe!” Gems said with watery eyes and immediately hugged Gray even before the older male can say anything. Gray just smiled and hugged Gems back, a little tighter.
“I'm here now... Don't worry...” Gray mumbled as he comforted Gems.
Ultear just looked away with a faint blush on her cheeks.
“Also Gems what happened? How did you hurt your leg?” Gray asked as he made Gems sit on a rock, he bent down and checked on Gems's leg. “It looks like you took a direct hit.” he added as he got up and checked Gems's arms as well.
“I was fighting Meledy, and she linked all our senses, she was about to kill herself inorder to kill you, so I hit myself to stop her...” Gems explained.
“Damn, tell me everything after we go back home.” Gray said and Gems nodded. Gems looked at the scar on Gray's side and cringed.
“Gray aren't you hurting?” Gems asked, when Gray winced in pain. “Oh my god... Healing Winds!” Gems immediately casted his healing spell on Gray. Gray's pain was soothing away, but that was the last of Gems's energy.
Gems was able to heal Gray's wound but it still left a scar. “Another scar Gray...” Gems mumbled.
“I'm so sorry Gemsie...” Gray mumbled while looking.
“Please stop hurting yourself...” Gems mumbled.
“You both need to get a room.” Ultear spoke.
“Huh?” Gray and Gems got confused.
“I know you guys are a thing, I saw you too in the woods of the Galuna island, making promises about not using iced shell...” Ultear mumbled while looking down.
“And you still tried to make me use that, what a pathetic human being you are! Be better!” Gray yelled at her. He was about to say some more but Gems stopped him.
“Gray...” Gems mumbled while shaking his head no.
“I'm sorry...” Ultear mumbled. “I hope you two have a bright future, I have nothing against you anymore...” she added.
“Its okay...” Gems mumbled. Gray just stayed quiet because of Gems.
“Let's get going Gemsie.” Gray spoke as he offered Gems a piggy back ride since the wind mage couldn't walk after healing Gray. Gems nodded.
“Meledy loves you like a mother, take care of her...give her a reason to live...” Gems mumbled while looking at Ultear. Ultear nodded. Gray just smiled a bit. Gems was the kindest person he ever.
‘I really fell in love with the right person.’ Gray thought as Gems got on his back.
“Gray... That was scary... ” Gems mumbled as Gray walked through the forest towards their basd camp.
“I really wished you were my partner.” Gray mumbled. He was running out of magic too.
“I wouldn't have been able to save you then...” Gems mumbled, his vision was getting blurry.
“What do you mean?”
“I'll tell you everything later...I'm feeling dizzy...”
“Take some rest Gemsie...”
The walk was silent after that, Gems had passed out and Gray didn't have much energy either. ‘My vision is getting blurry...’ Gray mumbled.
While walking Gray tripped due to lack of strength and pain in his body. Both of them fell on the ground and that impact made Gems roll over. Gray looked at him and Gems was already passed out.
“Gemsie...”
Gray extended his arm and held Gems's hand before his body gave up and he passed out as well.
