They stood on a quiet corner, cautious, trying to be incognito, watching as people gather in anticipation of the scheduled fireworks.
It was when he realized that ever since they decided to brave the crowd and came down to see the falls by themselves in its illuminated grandeur that night, that no one really had recognized them. In fact, no one had noticed them, no one really cared who they were.
They were just tourist like the rest of them, falling in love with nature's beauty.
They were not a hashtag, a love team, actors in a fishbowl, whose every move is talked about, analyzed and documented in social media that they have become very careful, decided to keep what they have away from the public.
In that very moment, they were just simply themselves - two people together, two people in love.
Fearlessly, he took her hand, relishing the freedom of finally holding her without worrying about curious eyes.
He immediately saw the panic in her face when she looked up at him questioningly. Smiling, he squeezed her hands assuringly.
Her eyes grew big as soon as she understood what he meant, smiling, giggling, as if she was just told a secret.
He gave a soft laugh, his heart swirling as he looked at her in awe. "I love you," he said.
"I love you too," she said with a smile. "So much."
And just as the fireworks began to color the sky with bright colorful sparks of light, they shared a kiss and fell in love all over again.
