LINDSEY'S POV
"Ashton?"
"Mmhm"
"Should I believe Luke?"
"About what?" He looks down at me. I could tell he was on the verge of sleeping. We still lay in Bens bed, me wrapped up I his arms.
"About... You know. How Amanda kissed him, not the other way around."
"Oh!" He finally wakes up enough to actually understand the conversation. "Yeah. That would be smart. I mean. You guys practically live at each others houses. Imagine what our group would become if you two weren't friends."
"True."
"Ok. Just. Go back to sleep, now." I nod and start dozing off when I hear footsteps and the door open.
"OH MY GOD! ASHTON! LINDSEY?! ARE YOU TWO..."
"WHAT?!" Me and Ashton say in unison. "No! He was just comforting me because YOU we're off sucking face with my..."
"Don't say it, Linds. You know she just... Oh wait. Yeah. Go ahead and say it." Ashton turns back to look at Luke. "YOU were the one that was sucking face with MY bully! And Ashton was trying to make me feel better!"
"I didn't do it! It was her!"
"OH LUKEEYYYYYYY!!!!" Speaking of the freaking devil.
"Babe. Where'd you go?"
"Back off. Go home and hook up with someone else. Don't waste your time."
She gasps and puts a hand over her heart, "well! If you really feel that way about me after you said you'd be over any night. Fine I will leave."
"YOU SAID WHAT?!"
"I swear I didn't say anything! She's making it all up!"
"You know what! I'm done! Ashton, do you mind taking me home?"
"Uhhhh... Sure? I guess?" I get up and walk out to Ashton's car.

Three weeks later...
Luke calls me yet again. I decline. "Hey Linds?"
"What's up?" Ashton walks into my bedroom, "why did I find this in the bathroom?" He holds up a blade. MY blade. "Ummmm. It must be someone else's."
"Lindsey! Tell me the truth. Why was this in YOUR bathroom?"
"Ummm...."
"Really? Did Luke do this?"
"Ummmm...."
"He did, didn't he?" I nod. Ever since he cheated, whenever I got the chance, I would just do a little scratch. But I did it everyday, so it got worse and worse.
"Let me see your wrist." I show him my wrist WITHOUT the scars. "Other one." I show him it. He moves my bracelets, "Linds! How long has this been going on?"
"Ummm.... Since..."
"Since Luke?" I nod. He walks over and gathers me in his arms, "hey. I want you to stop that. Ok?" I nod, "here." He takes some of his bracelets off and gives them to me, I can barely see the scars, "Ash. Did you?"
"Yeah. I started when I first saw you and Luke giving each other looks. Then I decided if I ever wanted to be with you, I should stop because you wouldn't want to be with someone that stupid and weird and..."
"Ashton. Are you saying that you,"
"Yes! I like you! And I have ever since I first moved here and I don't think I'll ever stop! You don't understand, Lindsey. I can tell you still want Luke. I know it." I hug my pillow to my stomach. I told Ash everything! EVERYTHING! And that just made everything worse for him. "Ash. I don't."
"Just. Shush. I told you all this and now you probably think I'm a freak."
"No. I don't. I like that you're telling me all this stuff."
"So you're saying you like me back?"
"I mean. Yes? But no. I DON'T KNOW!" I get up and run down the stairs, out my front door, and into the street. I sit down and cry. I don't stop until I hear something coming closer, and closer, until...
