EVENTUALLY, RACE WEEKEND had soon arrived, catching Thalia by surprise. The unforgettable hum of Formula engines and the lively atmosphere as fans filled the circuit were once again, a welcoming sensation to her ears.
Despite having only attended a grand prix three times, the vibrant energy of these weekends had already captured her heart, making them one of her favorite things to attend nowadays.
Arriving Wednesday night, she had a rush of anxiety overtake her body. Knowing she had to face him at some point this weekend.
Not even her well known ability to keep things professional were easy to bring out. Thalia couldn't bring herself to face Lando, or be near him at all after some certain and newly realized feelings she had.
On Thursday, she was required to film a couple videos with Oscar and Lando for the sake of media content and reels for the McLaren Instagram. It was very obvious to Lando she was avoidant as she was barely even looking at him, along with the fact she found herself leaning towards Oscar more.
And unfortunately for him, the Australian driver was caught in their crossfire. Already aware of certain things that went down. He found it as his place to not do anything and let them settle it on their own regards, even if they were both stubborn people and he knew that.
Thalia avoided Lando, and in result, he avoided her.
Thinking she was slick about it when she really wasn't, the media eventually picked up on her behavior change around the British driver. Stans on Twitter found it upon themselves to analyze her actions towards the McLaren driver.
Doing exactly one of the things he wanted least.
And when they approached Friday, Lando had finally tried to talk to her. But luckily for Thalia, she was already in the midst of tending to other duties. Easily blowing off the conversation she had been dreading and putting off.
She practically planned to disengage from having it the whole weekend. She was terrified of the confrontation of her feelings.
She was in denial when deep down she was fully aware she loved Lando Norris.
And she knew she'd have to talk to him eventually. She was just afraid that he didn't feel the same.
And that wrecked her.
Maybe Thalia back in January would've been certain Lando felt the same, but now she wasn't so sure. The constant avoidance of wanting to keep them private and not knowing if he wanted anything serious with her anymore told Thalia otherwise.
So as the weekend progressed, she consistently found herself caught in a whirlwind of emotions. Each passing moment of ignoring Lando brought a mix of longing and desire. She just wanted to run to him and hug him every given moment but the thought of potential rejection engulfed her body.
She was just very, undeniably. terrified.
The first boy she loved, not loving her back?
That's beyond frightening to think about for her. Especially as the girl known to keep her walls up and run from every bachelor thrown her way.
Every time their paths crossed, her heart raced, and she struggled to maintain her composure. She wondered if he could sense the tension radiating from her, if he could see through the facade she desperately tried to uphold.
Come to pass, it's now Saturday. With the chaos of race preparations and media obligations, Thalia found herself stealing fleeting glances at Lando, trying to decipher the unreadable expression on his face.
She was still under the impression he was ignoring her, but she doesn't know it was because she was ignoring him.
Was there an indifference, or was there a flicker of something more hidden beneath the surface? She couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty that gnawed at her insides.
But it was no secret he was stealing those same glances. Well, maybe it was a secret to Thalia.
Even her dearest friends have tried to convince her to do something. To confess to him, to say something.
Talk to him...
But she still refuses. She's never felt this way about someone, and that was nothing but unsettling. She's never done this before.
The more Thalia waited, the more time she lost. She got busier, as did Lando, making everything complicated for the both of them.
She was not on her A-game and she was beyond aware.
"It's ridiculous you still haven't talked to him." Calvin scoffed as he stood beside her in the hospitality suite. The duo mingling with Solana and Lily as they waited for the Sprint race to begin.
"I don't even know anymore." Thalia grumbled. "I think it's over." She laughed through a breathy exhale.
"You haven't even talked to him." He rolled his eyes. "You don't even know for certain if it's over."
"He hasn't talked to me, Cal."
"Well, you haven't talked to him." Sol chimed in, staring at Thalia with a knowing glance.
"I just-"
"You just keep making excuses for yourself." Lily sighed. "He's tried to talk to you." She paused. "Just tell him."
"I don't know guys." Thalia shook her head.
"The worst can happen is-"
"The worst that can happen is him telling me he can't be with me and it just leaves me keeping my profound love for him to myself." She cut off Solana's sentence with her own statement.
"Dramatic, much?" Calvin groaned as Thalia nudged his side.
"It's a possibility." She huffed in annoyance as her three friends exchanged glances.
"How so?" Lily quirked a brow as she stated at her friend for a response.
"Are we forgetting he and I are on a break because he wasn't sure of what he wanted anymore?" Thalia asked. "What if during our month apart, he realized he really doesn't want to be with me."
"You're basing this on a what if?" Sol looked at her friend with a pitiful stare.
"I have never seen you this way. And it's terrifying." Calvin laughed in disbelief. "You are being so stubborn, it's only hurting your well being, because you're actually such a wreck."
"I'm protecting my peace."
"No the hell you aren't?" He stared at her with a crazy glint in his eyes. "You're destroying it actually." Lily chimed in, leaving the model speechless.
"You're quiet because you know we're right."
"I think Ive put it off for too long." Thalia let out a breath.
"Just talk to him, Thals." Sol placed her hand over hers. "Regardless, he cares about you." She assured. "He wants to talk to you. I know it."
"You got it." Lily agreed.
"Okay... we'll see."

this was a filler and like to catch everyone up on how race weekend was going in miami.
guys what am i doing. i think we still have the plot. we have not lost it. i am cooking on this road trip. it's only hour 5.
also like i really can't drag along their fight through the whole entire weekend and i'm aware i used to drag out the entire weekends but that's so much, and that was also for entertainment purposes. so i dumbed it down here!!!!
