ABHIMANYU'S POV

As I walked through the main door, the air was thick with anticipation. Maasa’s eyes met mine, a silent conversation passing between us before she even spoke "abhímanyu I want to talk to you about something, come to my room"she said and went towards her chamber and I followed her.

The atmosphere in the room was charged with a mix of tension and unspoken words as I stepped inside. Maasa's expression was serious, yet there was a softness in her eyes that only a mother's love could reflect. Babasa stood by, his presence like a silent sentinel.

"Sit with me, beta," Maasa beckoned, her voice steady but gentle. As I settled beside her, she laid her hand on my head—a gesture that always brought comfort, no matter the situation. "Beta, what happened to Siya was unjust," she said, her tone laced with empathy. "But it doesn't mean you should accuse that innocent girl without any proof."

I felt a pang of guilt, knowing the truth that lay heavy on my heart. "I understand, Maa," I replied, my voice a mere murmur. "She’s here under my protection.” The words ‘my little moon’ echoed in my mind, a private term of endearment that I couldn’t voice out loud.

Maasa's gaze held mine, searching for reassurance. "What's your plan?" she asked, concern etching her features.

"I'll have the case reinvestigated," I promised, the words tasting of false hope. The truth was a luxury I couldn't afford to share, not yet.

Her hand ruffled my hair, and I couldn't help but protest. "Maaa, you know I hate it when someone touches my hair," I said, trying to sound annoyed, but a chuckle escaped me instead.

Babasa's stern look didn't escape my notice. To tease him, I leaned forward and kissed Maasa's cheek, then her forehead. That was all it took for Babasa to lose his composure.

"Jaann, you called him here to make him understand, didn't you? Now send him away before he starts clinging to my wife again, the shameless one," Babasa grumbled, his voice a mix of feigned annoyance and underlying affection.

I couldn't resist the opportunity to rile him up further. "Oh, hello, Mr. She is my mother too," I shot back with a grin.

"Agar meri biwi nhi hoti toh Teri maa bhi nahi ban pati , you ehsaan faramosh?" Babasa retorted, his words sharp but his eyes twinkling with humor.

Maasa chimed in, hitting Babasa lightly on the chest. "Maan, you've become so shameless. Be mindful of who you're speaking to," she scolded, though her lips curved in a smile.

Babasa laughed. "Well, my wife you are right , I'm shameless and became more but just for you. Besides, our son is grown up. He must have read those chapters by now, so of course, he knows the process well, right, son?" he teased, a mischievous glint in his eye.

I feigned confusion, playing the innocent card. "What chapters, Dad? What are you talking about? Can you explain, please?" I said, biting the inside of my cheek to hold back laughter.

"Cheekuuuuuuu," Maasa exclaimed, using the nickname I loathed.

"Maa, please, not that name. And don't say it in front of others," I begged, my tone playful yet pleading.

"Why? What about all the trouble you and your father have been causing me?" Maasa asked, her voice a blend of mock frustration and affection.

"And you, Maan, I'll deal with you later," she warned Babasa, her eyes narrowing in a playful threat.

"Why not, baby? I'm waiting for you to show me something," Babasa flirted back, the banter between them a testament to their enduring love.

At that moment, I couldn't hold back my laughter any longer. It burst forth, loud and carefree. Maasa hid her face in Babasa's chest, her own laughter joining mine. "I think I need to leave you lovebirds alone," I declared, making my way out of the room, leaving behind the sounds of their laughter as I headed towards the sanctuary of my little moon's room.

As I lingered in front of the room, a fleeting thought crossed my mind that perhaps she was still asleep. But as if on cue, the door swung open, revealing her in a lavender anarkali suit that seemed to capture the essence of the early morning sky. Her beauty was ethereal, a blend of grace and poise that left me momentarily breathless.

"Sundar hai, sahi kaha na?" The voice of my subconscious mind sliced through the moment, his words dripping with sarcasm.

"More than sundar," I retorted, my voice a low growl. "What, hot?" he jeered, and I could feel the anger bubbling within me.

"Just shut up. Whatever she is, she's mine and will forever be," I declared, my possessiveness a fierce shield around her.

"Okay, okay, Mr. Possessive," he mocked, but I stood firm in my conviction.

"I know I am possessive, and will forever be because she is mine. From the day I got to know about her existence, from the day my eyes beheld her petite figure, from the day she entered my heart and claimed her throne like a queen," I confessed, my heart laid bare.

With a stoic face, I turned to her. "Miss Aria, I need to talk to you about something" I said, using the name I knew wasn't hers. She was my Akshara, but circumstances forced me to use this alias.

She stood defiant, her spirit unbroken. "I'm not Aria, but Akshara, and I'll prove it" she declared, her voice a challenge.

I couldn't help but admire her courage. "You're actually my lioness, and I'm proud of you," I admitted in my thoughts, a smile tugging at my lips despite the gravity of the situation but I didn't showed.

"Do you think I will believe your childish stories?" I asked with a smirk, only to be met with her fiery response.

"I'm not making up stories," she snapped back, and I closed the distance between us until her back met the wall. The air was charged with tension, her breath quickening with our proximity.

"I don't care who you are, but keep this in mind: you're Aria for me until your innocence is proven. And let me clear one thing: you're staying here, and dare you play games with me, you will see the worst of me," I warned, my voice a low rumble.

Despite the fear flickering in her eyes, she maintained a facade of confidence. "Impressive" I mused silently, waiting for her to break the silence.

She mumbled something under her breath, but I caught the words clear as day. "Khaados kahika, kahi ka raja hai kya?"

"Yes, I'm the King of Udaipur, in case you don't know" I replied, asserting my authority.

Her question came softly, "Was I too loud?" accompanied by a pout so endearing it took all my willpower not to kiss it.

"Yes, you were," I answered with a smirk, enjoying the playful banter.

"You don't look like a king," she challenged.

"So how do I look like?" I inquired, curious about her perception.

"Bilkul mere prince jaise," she said, and my heart skipped a beat. She was too much for my poor heart to handle.

Just as I was about to lean in, my sister Neha, the unwitting enemy of romance, appeared. "Dadi is calling Akshara," she announced, then turned to me with a questioning look. "What are you doing here? You don't usually come to this wing."

"This is my house. I can go wherever I please. And besides, I came to warn Akshara, as you know she is a culprit, not a guest" I replied, the words paining me even as they left my lips.

I promised myself that I would catch the actual culprit soon. With that, I stormed out, unable to bear the hurt in her eyes.
