1. What is wood plastic compound?
Wood plastic materials are new materials which is the best alternative to natural lumber as a building material. WPC is made from wood fiber and plastic, because there is plastic in it, therefore it has a better elasticity modulus. Moreover, due to it contains wood fiber and mixed well with plastic, thus it has the same physical and mechanical properties as hardwood, such as compression resistance and bending resistance, and its durability is obviously better than natural wood materials. The surface hardness is 2-5 times higher than natural lumber.
The most widely use of WPCs are outdoor deck floors, but it is also used for railings, fences, landscaping timbers, cladding and siding and so on. In recent years, people in the flooring industry starts referring to WPC as a type of floor that has a basic structure of top polyethylene plus a rigid extruded core.
Our products comprise 30% plastic, 60% wood fiber, and 10% additives including UV stabilizers, coupling agents, lubricants etc. Compared with other WPC manufacturers in China, who use mixed wood fiber, we use hardwood fiber. While other WPC products are made with 25% to 28% plastic, our WPC products are made with 30% plastic, making our products feature exceptional strength.

2. What are the types of wood plastic composite?
WPC is mainly divided into two categories: PE WPC and PVC WPC:
PE wood-plastic products are mainly used in outdoor garden construction, such as guardrails, floors, trash cans, flower ponds, pallets and so on. It features excellent water resistance, corrosion resistance and high hardness, and is easily deformed and buckled by heat.
Even though PVC WPC products are low cost than PE WPC, it's not suggested to install in outdoor environments. Due to its characteristics, PVC is easy to fade and the shore hardness is worse than PE. The most important thing is that the water absorption of PVC products is up to 5% which is way higher than PE composite decking.
3. Compared with wood, what are the advantages of WPC products?
WPC products are environmentally friendly and 100% recyclable. WPC products are anti-UV, waterproof, moisture-proof, mothproof and anti-mildew, and fire resistant. WPC products have no maintenance cost, they are no need for painting and other special maintenance.
4. Will low-temperature weather affect WPC?
WPC wood plastic composite still performs well even in low-temperature weather. However, because plastic accounts for more than 50% of the composition of wood plastic, it will become harder to drill in extremely cold conditions. In this case, pre-drilling is required.
5. Does WPC fade?
All the WPC product will fade a little after it is exposed to the sun and undergoes the weather. The anti-UV additives are added to reduce the fading and it will be much more suitable for outdoor application. During the first 3 months, the color may fade a little with an approximated percentage of 5% to 10%, this will not affect the overall effect. After that, the color will stay at a stable level through the lifetime of the product.
6. How to store WPC products?
WPC products are much heavier than wood with the same volume. It should be placed on the flat floor for long time storage to prevent warping. We usual suggest customer to use galvanized steel pallet for WPC packing.
