VIOLET CORAL
beneath mercurial
sapphire waves
of sky

on reefs of stony sand
verdant banks
up high

dancing so delicate
brittle arms
invite

fauna move through branches
otherworld
sunlight

salmon-colors shifting
canopy
so green

violet coral beguiles
deepest sea
serene

VEILED LADY
The lady crosses forest floor;
Her presence dapples leafy shores
With form demure and never more.

The lady holds herself within,
And many days her shyness wins;
She's anxious of what might begin.

Yet when appears the true footfall
The lady can't her fate forestall;
She flutters out her veil, her shawl.

Her foamy tatting, all around,
The lady finds her proper ground.
She fans herself for comfort found.

SATYR'S BEARD
Fluff fantastic,
a foaming basket,
A waterfall fungi façade.
The goat-man, he romped
Through the fern-carpet fronds
And sought to elude the gods.

He left his beard here,
He left his beard there,
Fur decoy, confusion so odd.
And when he was done
He failed to reclaim
The shaggy face now grown so broad.

PIXIE'S PARASOL
When the moon is a lantern
The faeries come out,
And oh what a sight to see!
With their mischief, their meddling, their merriness,
They caper about the country.

Bright bits of ribbon
The highest prize,
Cavorting takes on a goal;
The pixies prance, the pixies dance,
With their delicate blue parasols.
