I'm currently working a night shift as a nurse which I started at 7pm and meant to finish at midnight.
On a night shift as a nurse in the children ward is easygoing.
But tonight we only have 4 kids tonight and 5 nurses tonight we have 5 just for an extra pair of hands.
But my boyfriend Cole is playing a game again Everton tonight which sadly I can't go to as I'm working.
I did drop him a message wishing him luck like I do every game.
For tonight's game I decided to watch it off my phone, "y/n I know your working till midnight but could you work couple more hours as Fran is covering in surgery" my boss asked me, as he walked off before I could answer him.
"Yeah I can" I said to him as I was having the conversation with him I missed a goal and it was Cole's goal.
"Oh I missed the goal great" I said to myself, I then looked around and saw Megan standing behind me.
"Did mark just ask you to cover fran?" She asked me.
"Um yeah he did" I told her focusing on my phone.
"Oh come on y/n you can't keep working this much over time" she told me, "yess!" I interrupted her as Cole scored his second goal.
"Are you watching Cole play?" She asked me while laughing.
"No I don't know what your on about?" I said to her sarcastically.
It's now my end of shift well I was meant to finish at midnight it's now 2:30 am which is bloody ridiculous.
I got straight home and was being quiet as I know Cole would be asleep but I walked into him playing Fifa which i didn't mind.
He paused then the game and walked over to me, "I thought you finished at midnight" he said to me while hugging me.
"Yeah me to" I told him as I leaned on his chest, "why are you in bed?" I asked him confused.
"Would be but we won so we ain't training" he said to me.
"Oh congrats babe, I didn't even know I was watching but when you scored your second on of the kids-"
"Y/n it's fine" he told me, "but I did score a hattrick before 30 minutes" he said with the biggest smile on his face.
"Im proud of you" I said to him as I gave him a kiss.
We then went to bed and we were just laying there, "I don't think I can do it anymore" I told him.
"Do what?" He asked me worried.
"The whole nurse thing I thought I would love doing it but I just can't anymore" I told him while tearing up.
"You've wanted to do this since we were kids" he told me.
Cole and I have been dating since I was in college he obviously didn't go as he was playing football at Man City.
I've always wanted to be a nurse but that's what I thought I've always wanted to do matter of fact if I carry on doing this I don't think I'll be able to do want I want do like have a family.
Like if I have a family with Cole and when I go back to work it just wanted work for me and Cole.
"I know but I think I just wanted to do it for my nephew" I told him as I gave him a smile, my nephew was only a couple months old when he passed away and when he did I guess I just wanted to be in the NHS to help anyone.
"I'll support you know matter what babe" he said to me we then went to sleep as everything went through my mind.
