As Shubman and Kainaat settled into the car, the familiar comfort of their banter filled the air, setting the tone for their journey ahead.
Shubman flashed a playful grin as he adjusted his seatbelt, teasing Kainaat with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
Shubman: "So, Kainaat, any chance you'll let me pick the music this time? I promise I won't subject you to my cricket playlist again."
Kainaat rolled her eyes with a mock exasperation, a smirk playing at the corners of her lips as she fired back with equal wit. "Oh, please, Shubman. I'd rather listen to your cricket commentary on loop than suffer through your taste in music." She said
"you know what we can play FM" shubman said trying to subside the banter a little.
As the soft melody of a romantic song filled the car, casting a spell of intimacy over Shubman and Kainaat, they exchanged a meaningful glance, their eyes speaking volumes of unspoken emotions.
With a tender expression, his gaze filled with a mixture of affection and longing. Without a word, he reached out to cup her face in his hands, drawing her closer until their breaths mingled in the air between them.
just as they were about to lean in for a kiss, Shubman's phone rang, shattering the moment of intimacy. With a frustrated sigh, Shubman glanced at the caller ID and saw it was Ishan calling.
With a resigned sigh, Shubman reluctantly answered the call, his tone terse as he spoke into the phone. "Ugh,what now, Ishan?" He inquired.
Ishan immediately picked up on Shubman's frustration, his voice tinged with amusement as he realized the timing of his call. "Whoa there, buddy! I can practically feel the heat through the phone. Did I interrupt something?"
"Damn it, Ishan! Can't you see I'm busy? Shubman asked, his voice dripping with frustration and Ishan chuckled knowingly,
His amusement evident in his voice as he teased his best friend. "Relax, man. I'll let you get back to whatever you were doing. Just wanted to remind you about practice tomorrow. Take your time, Romeo."
Shubman sighed in exasperation, knowing there was no escaping Ishan's playful banter. Shubman: "Yeah, yeah, I'll be there. Thanks, Ishan."
As he ended the call, kainaat's voice filled the car. "I think you should drop me home" she requested with a sheepish grin and flushed cheeks
His brows furrowed in confusion as he asked " weren't you staying at hotel for your movie shooting" he asked and Kainaat couldn't help but laugh
" I was" she replied in between her laugh and she continued "but thanks to you and adi managed to shut down the entire shoot with your heroic rescue mission"
"Oh yeahhh" he said with a sheepish grin as realization dawned upon him
As shubman pulled the car in front of her home. Kainaat looked at him before leaving, her eyes shimmering with warmth as she leaned in.
Kainaat lips brushing against the corner of shubman's. His breath hitched and his heart skipped a beat at her bold gesture.
She pulled away and hugged him. "Am I your friend ?" He asked and she was confused at the sudden inquiry
"Yeah" she said pulling away from the hug while confusion flickered in her eyes. He chuckled and said " isn't it weird if a friend doesn't have his other friend's number"
His request was met with a soft chuckle from Kainaat, her eyes sparkling with amusement at his smoothness. With a playful twinkle in her eye, she nodded in agreement, reaching for her phone.
And as they exchanged numbers a newfound sense of anticipation for the future grew within them. He bid her farewell, knowing that their paths were destined to cross again in the days to come.
