We weren't even two steps through the doorway when Bailey whipped her head towards us with a smirk.
"Hey..." She says still smirking
"Hi?" I reply shyly
"So...Care to explain...that?" Bailey questions motioning towards Emmett and I's intertwined hands
"Friendship?" I say more as a question than a statement. But as soon as those words left my mouth Emmett ripped his hands from mine and scoffed
"Friendship my ass" He said quietly shaking his head. I immediately went and grabbed his hand missing the warmth and also because I felt bad for basically friend zoning him infront of Bailey.
"Yeah! What Emmett said! Friendship my ass!" Bailey declared confidently fist pumping the air while Kai just watched us with amusement all over his face.
Oh you're probably wondering why Ethan isn't here right? Ethan ended up getting himself a girlfriend whilst Bailey being in a coma. I thought it was actually good for him to get his mind off of everything. But because of his girlfriend I don't even see him anymore. I actually miss my little ball of sunshine.
"Hello? Nicole?!" Bailey yells trying to get my attention
"Huh-what?" I say shaking my head
"Uh. You kinda zoned out there" Kai says shaking his head smiling
"Don't make fun of me! It's been a hard 8 months for me! Cut me some slack!" I defend myself
"Well duh. It's been a hard 8 months for everyone" Kai says rolling his eyes
"Anyway, what are you and Emmett?" Bailey asks
"What do you mean?" Emmett asks furrowing his eyebrows together in confusion
"Like are you guys together?" Bailey asks in a 'duh tone
"Um let's find out" Emmett says turning to me and getting down on one knee holding my hand
"Em what a-"
"Nicole Marie Harley will you do the honors of becoming my girlfriend?" Emmett asks cutting me off
I immediately freeze while butterflies erupt in my stomach
"Um Nicole? You okay?" Emmett asks standing up
"Yes!" I say excitedly hugging Emmett
"Yes to being okay? or yes to being my girlfriend?" Emmett asks hugging me back
"To both!" I say and pull back just to kiss him
"Oh well if that always happens when you're okay, I wonder what happens when you're better than okay..." Emmett says while smirking.
I blush probably as red as a tomato and punch him slightly
"Yoohoo love birds! Girl who just got out of a coma here! Not being paid attention to by her bestfriends!" Bailey yells ruining the moment
"Sorry Bails" Emmett and I say at the same time and go towards her bed and hug her
"I missed you two crackheads" Bailey says but its muffled from the hug
"Crackheads?" I ask pulling back to look at her
"Yes. Crackheads." She confirms
"Okay then." I say rolling my eyes playfully
A couple of minutes passed by before Bailey asks a question I was expecting sooner or later
"So what'd I miss?" Bailey asks nervously
"Like while you were in a coma?" I ask
"yeah" She replies
"Um. Graduation, My 18th birthday, umm..." I say trailing off
"Wait. I missed graduation? And your 18th birthday?!" Bailey asks suddenly
"Yeah we can celebrate later it's okay. But they said since you got a head start in school work during the summer- lord knows how you did that- you graduated with straight C's" I say re-assuringly to her
"STRAIGHT C'S!" Bailey yelled
"Yeah what's the pro-"
"I'VE NEVER IN MY LIFE GOT STRAIGHT C'S! IT WAS ALWAYS STRAIGHT A'S!" Bailey said starting to panic
"Bailey! Chill! Atleast you don't have to repeat senior year! Like how did you even graduate whilst doing summer school?!" I ask her
"Um. I did college courses. Duh." She says as if I should know
"Why did you not ever help me with my homework in junior year?!" I ask her in disbelief
"Cause I wanted you to earn it!" She defends
"Ugh! I struggled to pass Junior year Bailey!" I say shaking my head
"But you passed!" Bailey says triumphantly smiling
"whatever." I scoff trying to act mad
"My mom died." Emmett says changing the mood
"Em..." Bailey starts but Emmett shakes his head
"Don't say you're sorry. That's the worst thing you can do to someone who's mom died." He says putting his hands in his pocket
I go behind him and wrap my hands around his waist from behind and lean my head against his back. He immediately responds but holding my arms in their place
"It's okay baby" I whisper
Emmett turns around to face me
"Baby? I like the sound of that" He says smirking
I blush because it just slipped out.
"It's a cute nickname babe." He says hugging me
I hug him back and pull away after a little while to turn and see Bailey and Kai having a very heated out session.
"Um..." I trail off continuing to stare at the couple who don't care that Emmett and I are watching them
"We can do that too." Emmett says smirking at me and bringing me closer
"No! That's just weird Em!" I say pushing him away causing him to pout
"Not that I don't want to! It's just-to make out with them here...Also making out. Come on! That's just weird!" I say trying to explain. Emmett just smiled at me
"I knew what you meant" He said kissing my forehead
I mentally had a fan girl moment after he did that
"We'll just leave you two alone!" I say to Bailey and Kai who were still making out
"Gross" Emmett says taking my hand and pulling me out of the room quickly
"Why'd you pull me out so fast?" I ask
"It looked like he wanted to have sex with her right then and there" He says
"Oh.." Is all I say
After a few moments Em speaks up
"Let's go see Kyle!" Emmett says suddenly and I agree with him.
So I called the parents of Kyle's friend and told them that I was going to get Kyle early. And Emmett rode with me because when I called him and told him that Bailey was awake he claims that he ran here as fast as he could.
When Kyle got in the car and saw Emmett he basically cried tears of joy. And it was cutest thing you could ever see.
But I'm just glad that everything's finally coming together. My best friend is back. The boy that I love is finally mine. And I couldn't be happier.

AUTHOR'S NOTE! PLEASE READ!
Okay guys, the next chapter is going to be the epilogue. I'm really sorry I didn't warn you guys sooner but I've been thinking about it for a while. This book went a lot longer than I expected it to, and I know it may not be a lot for you guys. But it was a lot for me, I thought I'd do like 15 chapters tops but I just kept going.
Anyways I am going to be writing another book, so if you guys would like to read it I'm going to title it "The Girl He Never Loved". It's a book I wanted to do before but it was still a touchy subject. So be ready for that. And when this book is done don't archive it just yet because I will let you guys know when my new book is finally up. Again I'm sorry about ending the story without a warning but I feel like they are in a space where everything is okay between everyone... besides um you know Emmett's mom dying. But I feel like with Nicole's support and everyone else that it's a great time to end the book.
