Thank the god of machines for my bike.
"What? I have my car, why would I ride a bike, Kei??" He crossed his arms and frowned at me. Like I did something unforgivable.
"Then use your car. I need to help out my friend. I am going home now." Looking at my watch, the morning sun is almost up. It's 9am. Three hours travel in a car, so I can shorten the travel time with a bike. Motorbike. I took my backpack pulled his suitcase and some clothes from the dry cleaners and went out of our room. I need to put his things on his car. He needs to drive his car on his own back to Linkon. Thomas won't drive for him.
"Keeeeiiiii~" he followed suit.
Wearing a simple white crop top under a checkered loose polo, low waist fitted jeans and combat boots, I wore my hair on a high ponytail, i also wore a black cap. I look like a genuine traveler.
While looking back at him, he is wearing a knitted cardigan, under that is his white dress shirt, his usual necklace, his fancy fashion eyeglasses, black pants and his usual shoes. He looks like a damn model.
I wanna run away from him. I look like a damn crook beside him.
"I wanna travel back with youuuuuu~" he took my backpack.
"You don't like riding on a bike." I continued walking.
"I will like it if i am with you."
"I don't know."
"I won't complain."
"I don't want complaints." He knows me very well. "Have someone take your car back to Linkon City. You tyake my bag. We're leaving. Now." My steps now quicker we went to the basement parking lot and then went on our way.
Almost two hours of travel back to Linkon City, my hunter watch is getting every information about the wanderer and the hunters involved in the mission.
My phone rings. I stopped beside a small fruit stand and let Rafayel buy something to eat while i answered the call.
"Claire. Where are you?"
"Hungover. Where are you now?" She sounded like she just woke up.
"You fucking slept again?!" I shouted at my phone. I saw Rafayel almost dropped the fruits he bought.
"Kei.." he called me.
"Wait.." i signaled him to not speak.
What can I do, I wont be of any use if I am hungover, Kei.
"Just come to Akso. I--" I looked at Rafayel. "We just arrived at Linkon City."
Yes, ma'am.
I heard her shuffling along with a man's voice.
"Claire, where are you going?"
A man's gentle voice is heard.
I need to help out at the hospital. You're coming with me.
Then she ended the call. I sighed and went back to my bike.
"We need to go now, Rafayel."
"I'm coming with you?" He asked as he positions himself behind me.
"I can't take you back to your studio at Whitesand bay right now." I started the engine and took the direction of the hospital. "But I can get you a cab."
"I will wait for you." He wrapped his arms on my waist.
He won't see my face so I smiled. "Fine."
"Tara." I called her through the hunter watch.
"K-Keisari!" She sounded nervous. "The wanderer has been taken care of but--"
"But?" I asked.
"Elize is nowhere to be found."
Luckily, I just saw Claire arrived with the white haired hunter.
"Clai--"
"Keisari Ra--"
I looked at her and noticed her messy hair. She looked at me and looked closely at my neck.
"Call Elize." She spoke first.
I grunted. "Why didn't you?"
"She is not answering her phone."
"And you think she'll answer my call?" I wanna pull her hair. Damn, Claire Mercurie!
A few rings and she answered.
"Elize. Where are you?" I asked.
"How are you here already. You're out of town." She answered like nothings wrong..
"It's just.. a few cities far. Not that far. Where are you?" I wanna know her location already.
"Around." She laughed and sniffled. "Kei, it hurts." Her voice is hoarse, she sounded tired.
"Where is she? Fuck it. I can find her!" Claire shouted at me.
"Is that Claire? Please help me here.. I can't move." She's.. crying. No. Not Elize.
"We will find you." I assured her.
"The farthest part of the hospital garden. Almost at the forest line. I may have a broken leg.."
"Claire. Get a damn doc--" I frowned.
"Not from Akso please.." she cut me off.
"What the fu--" i looked at the tall black haired doctor frantically asking hunters about Elize. "Why not? Because of the doctor? No, Elize. I can find another doctor here. There are a lot of doctors here." I pulled Claire.
"Take a damn doctor, Claire. Kidnap if there's no one available. Just not that Cardiologist. We don't need a heart doctor!" I shouted at Claire. I don't wanna act like a matchmaker or a bridge but I don't want to see my friend hurt..
"Is that Anhausen?" I frowned at Jenna.
"Yes. Let me handle this, Jenna."
"This is all your fault." Jenna looked at me accusingly.
"Yadda yadda yadda. You told me I have some days off and you're telling that its ny fault now?" I murmured to myself.
"Well it is your fault for deploying her alone!" I can't just stay silent.
"Keisari. Stop. Just find me. If not, I will walk myself out of this forest and hide." Her usual gentle and comforting voice became cold and unfeeling. My heart skipped a beat. I can't let her be like that.
"O-Okay. Okay. Send me your location. I won't tell.. ANYONE."
"Thank you. Location sent." She said and ended the call.
"Claaaaairrreee! Have you found a damn doctor?!"
She ran to me looking like... I looked back from the direction she came from. On her heels is the--
"She doesn't want to see you, Doctor Zayne."
"I have to see her." His face determined.
"She'll get mad at us if you come with us."
"I have to see her." He repeated like I didn't heard him the first time.
"Fight him." I nudged Claire.
"What?! No!"
"Hunter." The white haired dude called me as he is approaching me with sure strides. "No."
"I know her capacity to fight." I answered as I push Claire forward.
"Keisari Raine!" Rafayel held my arms trying to stop me.
"You want me to fight him? I might kill the doctor, Rafayel." I removed his hands pulling my arms. "I am in a hurry, Rafayel. My friend is injured."
"Kei."
"Fight me. I wanna see her."
"Doctor Zayne, no." Rafayel tried to reason out to the doctor. "They are not normal hunters--"
"I am well aware." Zayne answered.
"Claire, no."
"Shut up, Xavier." I looked at Xavier and showed him that I am serious.
"F-Fine!" Claire tried to push me, Rafayel, Zayne and Xavier. "Stop fighting!"
"Good." I took a step back but I still see Xavier in his alert stance. "Or just hurt him a bit." I pulled Rafayel.
"This is crazy." Xavier mumbled as he tried to pull Claire away.
"Xavier. I can manage." She assured him looking at me.
"Don't make me start with you, Hunter." I eyed Xavier. "I know what you can do." I look at Claire. "Fight him."
Claire understood what I meant, and she knows when I am pissed off. she steers clear of me.
The doctor is not a fighter. He has this powerful evol but he isn't trained to fight.
Three minutes into the fight and Claire stopped.
"Is it done?" Rafayel crossed his arms and tilted his head like he is analyzing the situation. This fish.. i chuckled.. "Are you not satisfied earlier?" He nudged me. He is thinking of different things than what's in front of him, alright.
I looked at him, a smile creeping up my lips.
"Oh I am satisfied. There are just a lot of people who pisses me off." I answered-- never giving him a glance.
"But this is unncessary, Kei."
"He pissed Elize off. And Elize never gets pissed off. What did he do to make her mad like that? And to think.."
"What?"
I shook my head. "Claire that is enough. A few bruises will do." The doctor looked at me like he thanks me and I gave him one middle finger.
He gave me a smile. A thankful smile.
"Whatever. Let us go." I looked at my phone and saw that Elize is a bit far from us.
"Xavier.." Claire called. "Her location. Please come to her. We will follow you." She looked at me asking for permission. I nodded.
Being a light evol user has its perks huh?
