claire just got back from her date about an hour ago. she would've texted sofia right when she got home but she needed me time for a little. she decided that an hour was long enough and picks up her phone from her vanity and pulls up instagram to text sofia.

about fifteen minutes have passed and she hears a knock on the door.
"coming!" she yells from her room. she rushes downstairs and excitedly opens the door. "oh my god hi!!!" she enthusiastically greets the red head. she steps aside to let her in and she gladly comes in with no hesitation. "oh my lord your house is beautiful." claire doesn't think that it's that nice but she smiles and thanks her anyways.
the girls run up to her room and head straight to her bed. (pause) "ok tell me everything." claire, already blushing, explains. "okay so get. this. we get to the ice cream parlor and the guys behind the counter looks like a child who just got put in time out. he's all sad and shit until i get there." sofia tilts her head, intrigued on what's going to happen next. "he's like 'omg are you claire riley?' and i'm like yes ma'am. and we go on this whole thing where he told me EVERYTHING about how he used MY song to ask out his crush." sofia gasps as she asks, "well???" claire grins from ear to ear and that says just about enough. "he said yes! and then we talked for like ten miutes. and guess what?" "what?" "i made a band with tyler and his friends" sofia's eyes widen dramatically. "no way. that's so cool"
the two continued to gossip, watch the og mean girls, make smoothies, and do skincare before they had to actually get ready. they sit in front of her vanity, applying makeup while frank ocean is playing in the background. they are currently listening to pyramids while claire is applying highlighter and sofia is applying her eyeliner.
they finished hair and makeup and are now figuring out what to wear for claire since sofia had to pick out what she was wearing to bring it over. "okay. what are you wearing?" she rummages through her bag and finds her chosen outfit. "a black bralette, black skirt, and a black jacket thing." claire thinks on what would go well with that for a minute before she gasps at her amazing idea. she looks for her option in her closet and finds it in no time. "here. how's this?" she holds up the black outfit up to her body and shows sofia. "wait that's perfect" claire smiles at how they both picked out something so fast.
they oput on their outfits and walk to the full length mirror. "holy shit. we're so hot" sofia says. "i know right?" the two laugh for a minute until they turn their heads to each other. "instagram?" they say simultaneously. they laugh at being in so in sync lately. "i'm taking a mirror pic in your bathroom." sofia says as she walks off. she comes back in literally two seconds. "spam or main?" sofia asks. "spam" she nods and walks back to the bathroom.

sofia and claire are in the car, jamming to frank ocean, billie eilish, olivia rodrigo and tv girl. they both practically have the same music taste so picking songs weren't a struggle whatsoever. they make it to the party and get out of the car and sprint to the house. "omg i'm so glad that we got here when they started to play california gurls." sofia says as she sighs. claire nods in agreement and they both walk in the house and head straight for the kitchen. "you drink?" claire asks sofia. "yeah but i'm driving. so you can go crazy and i'll go crazy when we get back to your house." claire giggles and heads to the alcohol. she gets a red solo cup and begins to pour the drink. she fills it to the the third line and begins taking a sip.
"damn girl" sofia says with a laugh as claire starts to chug the drink in her hand. claire rolls her eyes and starts walking to the living room, one of the less crowded rooms. sofia follows where ever she goes happily. "you should text...fuck what's his name?" claire raises an eyebrow not knowing who she's talking about. "tyler?" she shrugs. "oh yeah tyler that's his name." sofia snaps, remembering his name. "what about him?" "you should text him to see if he's here yet." claire hums as she swallows the drink in her mouth and pulls out her phone.

"he's upstairs in the second room to the left." sofia nods and grabs claires hand and begins to walk upstairs. they make it to the room easily and find four people sitting on the floor. "hey claire" tyler says looking up from his conversation with max. "hey" she around the room and notices kayla and jaqueline talking in a corner, not even noticing claire's presence in the room. sofia kindly waves to tyler and he waves back with a smile. claire and sofia go to sit down until kayla finally notices two new people have entered the room. "oh my god." kayla says while tapping jaqueline. "i thought you were lying to us tyler." jaqueline can't contain her excitement and is basically flying with how much she's flapping her hands in the air. "are you real?" jaqueline blurts out. "no i'm a hologram" claire says sarcastically. everyone laughs at the pairs conversation.
after a while, everyone is continuing their original conversations and sofia and claire are sharing airpods while talking about the sleepover.
"guys i'm bored." jaqueline says while sighing. "yeah for real. like does anyone have tea or anything?" max asks. claire knows that she has tea about her and her old friends so now she's debating on telling them. "okay you guys can't tell anyone." she takes a glance at the door to make sure it's closed all the way. she motions her hands for everyone to get in a circle type thing. "spill." tyler says completely invested in the conversation now. "okay so basically you know how my comment section has been like really off recently?" everyone nods their heads as she looks around at everyone. "okay so the reason for it is because i was friends with the triplets and then katie and vee. basically, we were all in this big group chat and like two days ago i decided to text everyone. i asked if anyone was free and they were all busy." she looks up for a moment, trying to rack her brain for any memories. "and i'm like okay that's fine. i'll just text them til they have to leave. which is like reasonable. so i'm texting them and everyone seems so irritated and annoyed with me so i'm over here like damn. the fuck did i do? i was like i'm just gonna leave the group chat because everyone seems to not want me here." everyone audibly gasps at the information she just dropped. "i thought the triplets were like super nice people. like personally i don't watch their videos that often because i don't watch youtube. kayla watches them though. what i've seen and heard they seem really sweet." jaqueline states. "well see that's the thing. they didn't do anything. just vee and katie. but like i'm like if i'm annoying vee and katie, it's only a matter of time before i start annoying the triplets too. so i ended up dropping all of them..." everyones eyes widen at her words. "YOU WHAT?" kayla shouts. "IF I WAS FRIENDS WITH THE TRIPLETS I'D NEVER LET THEM LEAVE" claire has to hold in her laugh seeing as kayla's inner fan girl is coming out. "should i have not dropped them?" everyone aggressively nods their heads while some were saying 'mhm'. "okay i really only did it because finn said i should." sofia rolls her eyes as she's not the biggest fan of finn, but pretends to be for claire's sake. "i mean i like the guy but like maybe i shouldn't have dropped them."
the conversation went on for another half hour until max started hearing the cha-cha slide start playing. "OH MY GOD GUYS WE HAVE TO DANCE" everyone giggles and starts rushing downstairs. they're all dancing and having a fun time until claire looks to the dining room and sees a familiar face. oh fuck she thinks to herself. it's matt. matthew fucking sturniolo. she doesn't hate the guy. she loves him actually. she just hasn't seen him since everything that happened. "hey i'm gonna go get another drink." she tells sofia before heading to the kitchen. she grabs another cup but fills it up to the top this time. she starts to down the drink right after pouring it. she really hopes that matt didn't see her. or anyone who came with him.
just as she's leaving the kitchen with a now empty cup, she feels herself get lightheaded and stumble on her feet for a second. once she regains her balance, she decides that it's best to go sit down.
she walks back into the living room and heads for the couch where sofia is sitting. "heyyyyy" sofia immediately notices how much she's drank in a matter of seconds. "girl what happened??" "nothing happened." her words slurred she sits down next to sofia. "claire. you were literally a normal functioning human being not even five minutes ago." "okay i saw matt and went to drink so that i could forget about it" her nose scrunches seeing that it didn't exactly work because she's here talking about it. "well girl your worlds about to crumble then." sofia says chucking while pointing at the figure walking closer to them. claire gives her a confused look until she turns to look at whatever she's pointing at. "don't leave me" she pleads as sofia gets up to talk to kayla and jaqueline.
"hey" claire slowly turns around and gets up a little too fast. getting a little lightheaded, she closes her eyes and puts her hand on her head. "woah. you good there?" her vision quite blurry, she looks to him and hums, "mhm" she gives him an awkward smile and he returns it. "claire?" she looks towards him and he continues. "are we okay?" the question throws her off. and by that i mean it throws her off a cliff. she doesn't know how to answer that question because well she doesn't know if they're okay. "um i don't know" she looks down at her feet and fiddles with her fingers. "claire. i really don't want to lose you. you were my favorite person ever and i don't want that gone. you get me in ways no one else has." she really hates herself for pushing him to the side like some food she doesn't like, but she knows that it might be for the best. "look matt..i really love you. i do. but there's a lot of shit i'm going through and i don't want to spread that to you." matt sighs sadly at how slurred her words are and how dead her eyes look. usually they're lively but today. today they're different. he understands what she means but he'd rather carry her pain on his shoulders than lose her completely. he's slightly hurt because how could she discard everything they've been through in a matter of seconds? he knows that it won't end well if he continues the conversation so he decides to leave. but as he's walking away, there's something that won't let him leave entirely.
"claire?" she looks up from the floor and tilts her head. he walks back to her and says, "do you still promise to tell me if finn does anything?" she knows that she couldn't keep the promise but she nods her head anyways. he smiles, seeing right through her, he walks away without a word. she plops right back down on the couch and decides to just post on instagram.
