Juliet was stressing on the face time to skylar and nessa as she was still in the middle of figuring out an outfit to wear to the dinner that was happening in less than a twenty minutes.
thankfully, she decided to not procrastinate and actually start to get ready at a decent time, so she already had her hair and make-up done.
"help me guys hello?" juliet sighed at the pile of clothes in front of her, all she heard was snickers from the other end of the call.
"julie, you literally have my dream closet alright. you have tons of things to wear, i don't know why your so stressed either it's literally mek." nessa sighed, skylar was still at her house from the night before so they were both sat on nessa bed, watching the horrors take place in juliet's room.
"so? i still need to look good! beside it makes a good first impression." juliet smiled, looking through the pile when her eyes laid on a strapped blue corset "thoughts?"
"a hundred percent yes!"
"of course, you suit that colour so much"
juliet smiled at her best friends, she truly believed she was the luckiest girl with them by her side. "okay so i'm thinking, skirt?" nessa suggested.
"okay how about, this?" juliet held up a matching maxi navy blue skirt.
"yes, match with a pair of those pretty black heels?" skylar suggested, juliet already had the shoes by the side and held them up, after earning a nod from the two girls she got up to get dressed out of the frame.

"okay i love this." juliet sighed happily she walked back into the frame to check with her friends, who instantly erupted in applause.
"wow my best friend is actually pretty hot?" skylar sighed, wiping away imaginary tears as juliet laughed along with the girl.
"ok i have to leave in like five minutes, what colour purse do i take?" juliet held up a white one and a black one.
"definitely the white, don't get it dirty though because i know for a fact that belongs to me." nessa rolled her eyes.
"okay sue me, you have half of my wardrobe!" juliet huffed, nessa stayed silent, much to juliet's delight.
"who are you really nervous to see julie?" skylar asked with a smirk, "is it someone that goes by the name of mal-"
"no! guys i haven't even had a proper conversation with the kid, i don't know why everyone suddenly thinks i'm head over heels for him" juliet huffed, it was getting pretty annoying having to shut down allegations from her own best friends.
"but julie, you literally love love?" skylar questioned, juliet felt a wave of annoyance rush over her as she felt the need to explain herself once more.
"for the millionth time, yes! i do love love, you are correct however that does not mean i'm going to throw myself at every boy that looks at me?" juliet explained with a narrowed glance which caused the other two girls to sigh.
"okay! but you sure as hell are going to blow you know who's socks off with that outfit, honestly you look really hot." nessa smiled, sending juliet a wink.
"i'm in love with both of you, but i really should go now meks blowing up my messages." juliet sighed, walking up to her phone which was stuck onto the mirror.
"bye love you." juliet sent a kiss to the screen as the two girls chorused byes before ending the call.

JULIET FINALLY ARRIVED AT the restaurant, she was impressed on how decorative it was and how the tables were so neatly arranged around the room.
okay, no she wasn't. she was just trying to distract herself from the fact that she was going to be meeting two newish people that she had never spoken to before.
scratch that, one person she had never spoken to before. however that didn't mean she wasn't also terrified in meeting malachi face to face.
she sent a quick text to malachi like he had asked, as she looked back up she noticed a familiar dread head walking quickly toward her.
"mek!" juliet smiled, engulfing the boy into a hug instantly; she truly loved mekonnen platonically of course. they had met years ago through nessa who had met him from some film set.
"you can never be on time can you julie." mek said as he pulled away from the girl, "honestly though, you look amazing so i guess it don't matter."
juliet laughed at his amusing flirts as she hit the side of his shoulder, "shall we m'lady?" he asked, wrapping his hand around hers as she giggled.
"we shall!"
the two danced towards the table which sat at the far corner of the dinner place, and mek was doing great at distracting juliet from doing what she feared the most.
"oh my god your outfit is amazing! i'm freya." a long blonde spoke with a thick british accent, her full pink lips and bright blue eyes almost knocked the air out of juliet's lungs.
"hi! i'm juliet, your so pretty" juliet smiled as freya pulled her into a small hug, she was happy to make a friend.
"doing great already julie." mek spoke from the side of juliet as she pulled away from freya, she nodded with a smile before turning to the last person who stood behind her like some sort of guard.
"jules." he said as she turned to face him, he wore a large white t-shit underneath a oversized grey zip up jacket, paired with a some baggy washed jeans.
"mali." juliet replied with a smile, he was much taller than she thought he'd be. she came up to under his neck, causing her to crane her neck up to get a good look at him.
he didn't hesitate in pulling her into a tight hug, leaning down slightly to wrap his large hands around her small figure, she laughed slightly before raising her hands to wrap them around his neck. they both stood there for a few seconds, as malachi rocked them on each foot before mekonnen coughed.
"okay, now can we eat because im starving." mekonnen sighed, the grouo erupted in laughter.
juliet felt a hand tug in hers, and she looked to the side to find freya pulling her to sit in the seat beside her.
"uh, do you guys know when filming ends?" freya asked, as juliet sat there patiently fiddling with her fingers.
she knew it was bound to happen, they would speak about filming at some point whilst she sat there in silence like a complete fool.
she had nothing to say about the film because she wasn't apart of it, so all she really could do was just patiently wait for the conversation to change.
it seemed like an eternity, as after around ten minutes of fiddling with her fingers, and poking around her food; the group had yet to talk about something other than the movie, or the rest of the cast.
"no! milo literally told me this, your lying." mekonnen laughed, pointing at malachi as freya laughed along with them.
"well then he is a liar, i'll have a word with him later." malachi shrugged, mekonnen and freya carried on with their laughter.
he couldn't help but notice the dark haired girl besides freya sitting there in silence as she riddled with her nails, looking around the restaurant with a glum expression.
he furrowed his eyebrows at her demeanour before realising what he had actually been doing. of course she wasn't saying anything? she had nothing to say.
he looked at her for a few moments, watching as her leg bounced continuously on the spot and how she fiddled with basically anything in reach.
"oh, uh juliet what-" malachi started.
"i'm going to the bathroom, i'll be back in a minute." juliet said suddenly pushing her chair back as she began to walk towards the toilet before freya stopped her.
"you want me to come with?" freya asked, juliet shook her head before walking off to the nearest toilet.
the other two carried on their conversation from before whilst malachi sat there in frustration, the last thing he wanted was for her to feel excluded when he was the one who pushed her to come.
he couldn't blame freya and mek, he knew they were a little slow at putting themselves in other peoples shoes.
"we're such dumbasses." malachi huffed, causing freya and mek to look at him with furrowed eyebrows.
"dude! she's been sitting there the last like ten minutes in silence, whilst all we have been speaking about is filming?" he said in a 'duh' tone, mek and freya's eyes widened as her & mekonnen turned to each other.
shaking his head, malachi couldn't help but smile at his friends stupidness. "i'm going to check on her i'll be back, but no more talking about filming ok?"
the other two nodded before malachi got up to follow the steps in which juliet took towards the bathroom.
slight flashback
as juliet stepped away from the group she couldn't help but feel shame as she walked into the girls bathroom, closing the door as she took in a deep breath.
she hated the feeling of exclusion, it made her feel embarassed and so worthless. she knew she was reading into the situatuon a little too much, they were just excited about their movie?
still she couldn't help but feel her eyes water as she looked at herself in the mirror, fixing her hair and applying her lipgloss didn't help much.
she pulled out her phone from her purse and called nessa as she knew skylar was still at her house, after a few rings it was evident that she wouldn't be picking up.
"i don't care if your dying answer my calls bitch." she muttered as she pressed the call button again.
no response.
she sent a few heartfelt messages to their groupchat about how much she despised them and hoped they would be found dead by the time she got back into california.
she opened up their group chat and pressed on the voice note button as she stared at herself in the mirror.
"guys, i'm at the dinner and i literally feel so out of place. like i know their not doing it on purpose but what can i talk about? my fricking zombie movie?" she sighed sadly, as she sent the voice note.
as she pressed to send another, a voice spoke up from behind the door causing her to jump.
"juliet?"
it was malachi, at least she thought it was him. "malachi?" she questioned, her voice shaky from the stray tear that left her eye.
"yeah" he replied.
"what are you doing?" she questioned from the other side of the door, too embarassed to walk out after knowing that he probably heard her voice note.
"wondering why you've been in there for so long." he murmured, "wanna come out so i don't have to talk to you through the door?"
"uh, i don't know i need. i need a minute." she took a deep breath as she quickly patted down her face, desperate to hide the stains of her tears.
"are you alright- like have you been crying or something?" malachi asked, hearing her voice crack slightly.
"no- no i'm just being dramatic. it's nothing." she shook her head, she didn't know whether or not she was reassuring malachi, or herself.
"i'm going to come in okay?" malachi asked, juliet watched as the door handle shook slightly before stopping. "i won't come in if you don't want me to."
"no, uh it's fine come in." she wiped her cheek lazily as she turned to face the boy walking into the girls toilet.
"why did you lie jules, i can tell you've been crying." malachi sighed as he stepped closer, wiping her cheek gently before leaning in to grab hold of her hands.
"i just feel a little out of place that's all. but i'm fine so let's just go back to the dinner." she said, pulling him by the hand towards the exit. however it failed as she felt him tug her back.
"i'm really sorry about that jules, i swear we didn't notice. well i did, but mek and freya are just a little slow." malachi assured her, holding up her hands in his and he did.
"i know, i know. i'm not mad at any of you i promise, i'm fine." juliet repeated.
"okay, then let's all get out of here. what do you say to that?" malachi shrugged, "you could come back to our hotel?"
"of course, i'll text my dad." she smiled with a nod.
they began walking slowly back to their table when juliet spoke up, "you know you literally played a taylor swift song."
"what?" malachi laughed.
"the other side of the door? cuz you were talking to me through it" juliet muttered with a smile, malachi couldn't help but reciprocate the same energy.
"i guess i did then, hey did i mention you look gorgeous?" he asked, tilting his head towards her with a grin.
he blushed as he watched her keep her gaze on the floor, butterflies filling both their stomachs as juliet muttered a thank you.
"you don't need to thank me for pointing out the obvious jules."
