I was rushing to catch the train since I was late to open up the cafe, ever since manager left for maternity leave I was put in charge of the cafe until she comes back and it was quite a rollercoaster. You have customers that shout at you for getting their order wrong or throw hot coffee at you for taking time to give it to them and I have experienced all of it. Once I got on the train ,I sat down and put my airpods into my ears and played some Lana del Rey.
Once I reached my destination,I got off the train and rushed up the staircase that leads to the cafés street. I checked the time to see that it was exactly 6:30am and my coworkers and a few customers were waiting for me to open up.
"You're late" Melissa laughed as I opened up the cafe
"I'm sorry,my roommate knows how to throw a party" I laughed and we got inside
"So you were part of the partying I see" Ricky smirked as he budged my soldier.
"No I wasn't,you know me and Patricia are very different people" I laughed
"She's the partying and travelling best friend whilst you're the bookworm and rather stay at home best friend " Melissa laughed
"You are very very different but you go so well with each other" Jackie my other coworker smiled
"Alright enough about me,we have customers and we have to start serving them" I chuckled as I put on my apron.
"I love your outfit today by the way,so vintage " Ricky cheesed
"Well thank you,I definitely love my vintage style" I laughed and I went to the front alongside with Melissa as we were working the front whilst Ricky and the others were in the kitchen.
We served the first 10 people who were out the front when I got to the cafe first. Everyone definitely seemed to be on a rush to work.
"Look who just walked in" Melissa whispered in my ear and I turned around to see the same arrogant ass Christian Kim, doesn't care about anyone but himself.
"I got this" I whispered and I went to take his order as always
"Good morning,what will it be today" I smiled politely
"The usual" Christian shrugged and I just rolled my eyes and went to make his usual vanilla bean espresso.
"You really got this under control" Melissa laughed
"Don't push it" I laughed and once I was done making the coffee,I gave it to him
"Thank you" he shrugged and he gave me $100 and left the cafe.
"Such an asshole" I rolled my eyes
"He is a very sexy asshole" Melissa chuckled making me hit her shoulder
"Did I just see Christian Kim?" Ricky laughed as he walked out of the kitchen towards us
"In the flesh" Jackie laughed
"Y'all acting like you don't see him all the time" I sighed
"We do,but everytime he enters the cafe ,he looks like a celebrity" Melissa smiled
"A walking god" Ricky cheesed
"You and your gay self" I laughed as I nudged his arm
"I'm not gay,I'm just in touch with my feminine side ,trust me I love women not men" Ricky chuckled
"I really thought you were gay this whole time" I laughed
"Me too,he just acts like it" Jackie laughed
"Can we get back to working?" Ricky laughed and we got back to work.
After a long day it was finally time to close down and someone walked into the cafe.
"Sorry we are closed" I sighed as I cleaned my area
"I'm not here to buy anything" I heard a familiar voice and I looked up to see Christian.
"Yes,may I help you?" I asked with my arms crossed.
"I have a job offer for you" Christian smiled
"Ohh so you smile??? Ok ok and what's this job offer?" I laughed hysterically
"I need you to make me coffee every morning before I go to work" Christian shrugged and I burst out laughing.
"Me ?? Make coffee for you??? Every morning??? Don't I already do that for you here " I laughed
"I'll pay you double the money you get paid here" Christian smiled
"So ,you want me to be your personal Barista?" I asked
"Yes" Christian sighed
"Let me think about it and I'll get back to Neverrrr" I shrugged
"I'll pay triple" Christian smiled
"We are getting somewhere" I cheesed
"It's just from Monday to Friday and the weekends your free" Christian suggested
"Alright fine ,I will do it ,only because I need the money" I sighed
"Great,I'll send you your schedule and we can see how it goes from there, it will be great if you started tomorrow" Christian smiled
"Tomorrow????" I asked in disbelief
"Yes tomorrow,is there a problem?" Christian raised his eyebrow
"Yes,who is going to run the cafe?" I sighed
"I already told your manager and she said it's fine" Christian smiled
"YOU DID WHAT????" I shouted and he covered my mouth
"That's all that has to be said ,Miss Gayle,have a good evening" Christian smiled and he left the cafe.
I was still in disbelief and I got a phone call from my manager explaining everything and that she would send my payment by the weekend. Once I got to Patricia and I's apartment,I took of my shoes and threw myself on the couch.
"You look so exhausted" Patricia laughed as she walked out of the kitchen .
"My life is ruined Pat" I sighed as I sat at to face her
"What happened? Is it Christian again?" Patricia laughed
"It's not funny Pat and yes it's Christian" I pouted
"Spill the beans " Patricia laughed
"He gave me a job offer to be his personal Barista" I groaned
"Isn't that a good thing??" Patricia asked
"Im going to miss working at the café Pat,and working for the man that I hate the most in the world isn't gonna set it" I explained
"That man is stinking rich ,you gotta put your differences aside and just work for him,plus it's good money" Patricia smiled
"Your also stinking rich Pat" I laughed
"I don't take it as my money,it's my parents money ,all I have to my name is only $45,580,000" Patricia shrugged
"Only???? Girlll" I laughed
"I consider it our money,you've been with me ever since we were in 5th grade" Patricia smiled
"Oh Pat, thank you for the sacrifices you've made for us" I smiled
"I got you girl,now let's go eat I'm starving and I made your favourite" Patricia laughed as we stood up
